All About Me

I don't know how long ago I actually started up this site and wrote this autobiography, it wasn't really wonderous writing then and really still isn't all that wonderous. It is interesting to read how I wrote years ago and that is pretty cool. One of these days I'm going to update this though and probably rewrite the whole thing. Anyway, here is what I originally wrote with several very small additions:
Hi, my name is Nathan Hoskins. I live in the small-ish town of Redding,CA. I came into the world in 1978. I am known in my circle of friends for my lounge-style singing voice, my photography, my hawaiian shirts, my poetry, and most known for my acting abilities.
I have been in several plays and musicals in my time. I have been in "Tall Tales and Heroes," "Choices," "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," "In the Middle of Grand Central Station," "The Velveteen Rabbit," "Snoopy," and then I was assistant director for "Glimpses."
I wrote one of the scenes in "Glimpses" though the actor that did my scene changed it quite a bit. As Assistant Director, I didn't really do a whole lot. It was still fun. After that, I went on to college. I came back to the high school for "The Other Side." I helped with the lighting. Then, at the college, I was in "THE HOT L BALTIMORE" where I had one line ("somebody order a pizza here?") and I ran A TON of tech stuff for. I ran most of the props, and I also ran some sound effects during the performances. My most recent acting experience is that of the Narrator (Mr.Bassman) for "The Rocky Horror Show" at Shasta College. It was by far the craziest and most awesome show I've ever been a part of. See some pics!
I was also Assistant Director for the children's show that summer, "How to Eat Like a Child". I directed "Gift of Murder" and also directed "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" at CVHS. I've been part of many shows recently as a technical helper kind of guy. It's been fun but really keeps me busy.
I absolutely love to act and that is one of the reasons I get along with just about anyone. I can be a friend to just about anybody. I love to help people and so I am also widely know as a "nice guy" which isn't always good. Some people tend to take advantage of me (or try, I should say) just because of this image. I am a nice guy and all, but there is a limit even for me.
Living in Redding my entire life, I have come to appreciate the fact that if you can't be around one of your friends or you have nothing better to do, you can always talk to yourself. It often clears the mind.
I know lots of people now though. I am somewhat outgoing and make friends easily. I have had few friends that I have been friends with for what seems like forever, but I have had a few. Some of my friends have moved away and some have since moved back.
I have always had a few friends that have always been around though.
I'm not the best at making speeches or whatever unless it is a subject that really gets me going. I can talk when I need to, but I often times choose not to speak unless what I have to say is fairly important. Either that, or I am just saying something goofy to get a rise out of someone.
I don't have much else to say.
I guess I could throw in some descriptive stuff about me here...
I'm about five foot nine inches, maybe ten, I don't really know. I have brown hair, facial hair, blue/green/grey eyes with yellow sunspots, I'm medium build, I wear a few rings, a necklace and whatever I feel like putting on when I get up. Oh yeah, I'm a boxers kind of guy too.
I thought about writing more and I still think about writing more, but I think that my section that holds all the monologues and such and my poems are a better example of some of my writing. read it here
You should take a look at my Uncle Melvin's book "Me, Melvin and Andy." It is a worthwhile book and you definitely should read it.
