Well, August of 1996 had been a looooong month on Rysher's Highlander
Forum, what with the increasing download size, repetitive questions, and
minor sniping that led to outright flame wars, and it was smack in the
middle of "rerun H***" to boot. By September, some posters were getting
just a little - um, let's call it "reality challenged". (Place your index
finger lengthwise against your lips, move it rapidly up-and-down, and hum
loudly ... yes, I can see you get the picture ;-)
Anyway, for once there was a completely innocuous thread going about
finding the latest book in the Highlander series, when this innocent remark
was posted ... and the rest, as they say, is history:
