I've lived there for 18 years and it was the best. Most people ask, "Just what the heck can you do in a place where there are no stores and only 110 people?" There are tons of things to do. You play hockey, broomball, you make club houses and most of all you learn to appreciate friends and the great outdoors.
My friends and I were a wild bunch when we were growing up but it was clean fun. Threewheelers and fourwheelers in summer, ski-doos and sleds in winter, we had our own trails out in the forests back of our homes. Oh and who could forget the clubhouse we built from scraps of lumber from my grandmother's sawmill. It may have been torn down years ago but the memories are still there.
"The Rink" was also a big part of my childhood and still continues to be so today. An old white building with an outdoor ice surface may not always seem like much but it is so much more in a small place. It is more than just a place to grab some snacks or go skating. It is a place wehre you gather with friends for a game of cards, hockey or broomball. Sometimes just for some gossip...which runs wild sometimes in a small place.
I graduated with honors from Sugarload Senior High School in June of 1995. I had the dream of becoming a vet. However, after one year at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, I decided it was not for me. So last fall I moved to Moncton to attend the Atlantic Business College. I'm just about to graduate and am looking for work.... so here is my resume if you would like to check it out.
