SHEA STADIUM FLUSHING, NEW YORK 2001 After nearly two whole seasons of saying I need to go to Shea to see Todd, I FINALLY made it! Due to the events occurring in NYC on September 11, 2001, we almost weren't able to take our trip. We did make it though and were lucky enough to witness the first major sporting event the city had since the attacks. It was quite an event with tributes to the NYPD and FDNY and all the heroes and victims of the tragedy. We were treated to performances by Diana Ross, Marc Anthony, Liza Minelli, AND a huge game winning homerun by Mike Piazza! The Mets took the first game of the series 3-2.

















Day two started off in Manhattan where we met a few of the ladies from the Todd Zeile club on YAHOO! We had a nice lunch in the city and then went to visit the Mets clubhouse store where we all went a little crazy! After leaving the city, it was back to Shea to try our luck again. There was still a lot of security at the stadium and we stopped some of New York's finest to take pictures with us. We were able to go in and watch batting practice but Shea is not an easy place to get to the players. It was a great game and the Mets took game 2 of the series 7-3. After the game we headed out to the players parking lot to see if we could catch Todd (and Mike) Todd took forever but he finally came out and I got picture #6 with him! I was in heaven. On the way home we stopped to visit some of the firemen who were still camped out near Shea and got our picture taken with them. Day 2 was great!















Our last day in New York BOOOO! None of us wanted to leave. We went down and ate lunch in the Diamond Club and saw the National League Championship trophy and I had to take a picture of Todd's poster in the restaurant. They wouldn't let me take it home. It was another great game and it looked like we were going to sweet the Braves but things took a bad turn and the Mets ended up losing game 3 with a score of 4-5! I hope Todd is a Met next year so I can go back to Shea Stadium!
