FAQ: why do you call them chickens?

A:  my cats frequently sit with their paws tucked under them like so:

      when they do this they look like they are sitting on a nest.  one night while watching tv i

      pointed to mia and said, "look! she's a chicken!"  dh got very serious and said, "no,

      amy, she is a cat." (like i really thought she was poultry??)  from then on, my cats have

      been known as chickens.  to me at least.
