Annette got up and walked out on the beach. She sat on the sand letting her thoughts drift. She barely noticed a tall figure walking towards her. Suddenly a familiar voice spoke to her.
“Well if it isn't the girl that broke my heart.” Nick smiled.
Annette looked up dazed and surprised to hear that voice. Staring back at her were a familiar pair of blue eyes.
“Nick? What are you doing here?”
“Just the thought I’d stop by.” He smiled.
“I don’t understand.”
“I realized that you didn’t mean what you said. You couldn’t have.”
“You’re right. I don’t know why I said that. I guess it’s because I didn’t want you or me to get hurt later on.” She looked down.
“Stop thinking then! It’s bad for you.” He smiled and lifted her face to look at him.
Annette laughed and went for a big hug. After that she stopped worrying about the future. She decided that only time will tell.
