"Okay Joey, we really need to talk, I do have something to tell you." Grace said slowly.
"Well, I have something to tell you too." Joey said then added, "When you're done of course."
"Actually, would you go first? This is hard and I don’t really know how to word it."
"Are you sure?" Joey asked, hesitant in case, in true girl fashion, she were to change her mind.
"Yeah, I'm sure, please go."
"Okay, now, I know you probably don’t want to hear this but I need to say it. It's not Susan I like. It's not Brandi, or Allison either. It's you. I love you and I really hate to do this to you after you just got with Lance yesterday and you really seem happy with each other so I'm sorry and…" Joey was rambling and Grace cut him off placing a hand on his arm, "Joey, stop, it's okay. That’s pretty much what I had to tell you too. I had to tell you that I liked you too." Grace said quietly.
"Really?" Joey asked confused, Grace nodded. "Then, then what's with you and Lance?"
"Ask JC." Grace said.
"JC?" He asked and she nodded and shrugged. "So if I call JC up here, he'll tell me?"
"Probably, I mean, I guess he would." Grace said.
"Okay then, I'm going to call him now, cover your ears, I can get kinda loud." He said. She covered her ears as he took a big breath and yelled "JC!!" They waited about two minutes before the door opened.
"Man, I hate you." JC said glaring at the two of them, "I was perfectly happy downstairs on the couch with Brandi, but I should have known that wouldn’t last too long, I'm not that lucky." JC rambled.
"JC! Calm down bro. Just tell me what's up with Grace and Lance and you can go back to your girlfriend." Joey laughed.
"That’s it? You called me up here for that?" JC said in utter disbelief. Joey nodded. "Why on the world didn’t you just ask Grace?"
"I did" Joey shrugged "She told me to ask you and I wanted to know so I called you. Sorry."
JC shot Grace a look then turned to Joey. "Okay, lets make this quick so I can leave. Well, okay, Grace wanted you, and I knew you liked her and I figured if she was with another guy it would make you jealous and it was down to me and Lance because not everyone can know about a plan like that and I had my eye on Brandi and I didn’t want to be attached to someone, ya know, and Lance, uhh…was there so that’s how it worked." JC said quickly then took a breath.
"And what about Lance?" Joey asked and JC gave him a questioning look so Joey elaborated. "Lance actually likes Grace doesn’t he? That was part of your plan too, wasn’t it?" He questioned and JC hesitantly nodded. "That’s why I thought they really liked each other but it was really just him." Joey concluded.
JC shrugged "Pretty much the only problem us none of us realized how much you liked Grace. We thought it would take at least a month for you to get jealous, who knew it would be right away?"
Grace was confused. She hadn’t realized he did like her. She wondered why she hadn’t seen Lance liked her.
"Now I've answered all your questions, do you have anymore or could I please go and let you two figure the rest out yourself?" JC asked hoping there were no more questions but Grace spoke up.
"How long has Lance liked me?" she asked curious as to what the answer would be.
JC thought for a minute, "Hmm… that's a good question. I think probably late July. Yea, late July early August. Somewhere around your birthday" JC said decisively.
"Then why didn’t he tell me or why didn’t you? I've talked to both of you a couple times since then. And why did you make me go with Lance because now I just feel like I'm toying with his emotions." Grace said getting all worked up about this.
"Grace, Grace, Grace, calm down, its okay. You're right, he does like you and he does know you like him as a friend and that Joey's the one you want. It might hurt a little but, no offense, it won't last long. He'll be fine if you tell him the truth, don’t lead him on." JC said logically.
"Thanks Jayce. You really are a big help," Grace said smiling "now get out of here, go see your woman!" JC gave her a grateful smile and turned to leave when she called him back, "Wait" she yelled with a twinkle in her eye. He groaned and turned back around. "Take Joey with you and send Lance up." She laughed. He nodded and bolted out the door.
