Justin and Katlyn were sitting in the back of the bus. They had a movie going, but neither were paying attention.
“Is everything ok, Justin?” Katlyn asked cuddled up next to him.
“I’m just tired, and stressed out.”
Katlyn moved so she was sitting behind him so she could rub his shoulders. “Only a couple more days, and then you get to relax again.”
“Hate to tell you this, Kate, but I’m Justin Timberlake. I don’t have time to relax.”
“Yes you are Justin Timberlake millions love, but you’re also human, you can relax.”
Justin turned around suddenly. “I don’t have time to relax! I can’t go out without someone noticing me, millions love me, and I have NO life! Can’t you see that? I’m not just a normal boyfriend!”
Katlyn looked shocked at him. “Justin, I know your stressed, but please don’t take it out on me.”
Justin looked at her blankly and continued. “I can’t be a good boyfriend. The only reason I see you everyday is because your father is our manager. If it wasn’t for that, you would be sitting at home wishing you were with me, thinking I was cheating on you OR cheating on me, maybe even telling all your friends that you’re dating Justin Timberlake! I’m not a normal boyfriend, Katlyn. I’m not the kind you can go out with everyday and live a normal life with. I’m...not...a...normal...boyfriend.”
“Justin, I know you’re not a normal boyfriend. But I love you. I can’t tell my heart to fall in love with a normal person, it chose you...I chose you. I don’t care if you’re a normal boyfriend. You ARE my boyfriend, that’s all I care about.”
“Is that why you’re dating me?” Justin looked up into her eyes.
“What are you talking about?” Katlyn asked confused.
“I’m Justin Timberlake...Are you just dating me to show me off to your friends? Like a trophy? You’re finally dating Justin Timberlake. Is that why you’re dating me...because of who I am?” Justin looked angrily at her.
“Justin, you know that is not true! I don’t know what’s wrong with you, but you better stop blaming your stress on me!” Katlyn yelled back.
“I’m not blaming my stress on you! I’m blaming the last year I’ve spent with you on a lie!”
Katlyn felt tears coming to her eyes. “Justin, please just stop before you say something you’ll regret.”
“Do you want me to feel sorry for you now?” Justin stood up suddenly. “I will NOT feel sorry for you! You’re the one who is causing this!”
“Justin...I...I love you, and you know that. I don’t know what is happening right now, but it is scaring me. So, I’m going to leave right now before you can say anything else.” Katlyn got up off of the couch and started walking away.
“Last night.” Justin said making her stop.
Katlyn turned around. “What?”
“You think because of what happened last night I’ll stay with you forever. Something else to tell your friends, right?”
A tear ran down Katlyn’s cheek. How could he say that to her? She turned around and ran out the door to the front of the bus.
“Katlyn, what’s wrong?” JC stopped her.
“Stop the bus.” Katlyn cried.
“Why? What’s going on?” JC asked worried.
Tears were pouring down Katlyn’s cheeks. “Stop...the...BUS!”
“Not until you tell me what’s going on.”
“That ASS back there is a...a...JERK! I can’t believe he said that to me.” Katlyn broke down and cried in JC’s arms.
JC looked up and saw Justin watching. Justin turned and walked to his bunk.
JC sat Katlyn down on the couch. “Shhh...calm down.” JC looked at Chris, Joey, and Lance watching. “Why don’t you guys go to the back of the bus?”
Katlyn sat up and continued to cry. “I want to get off this bus.”
“You can’t do that right now.”
“I can’t stay on this bus.”
“Shhh.” JC rubbed her back until she feel asleep on the couch. He grabbed a blanket and put it over her, letting her sleep there.
The next morning, Katlyn woke up trying to understand where she was. She sat up and saw Justin and Lance eating breakfast at the table across from her. Her eyes met with Justin’s and she quickly looked away, suddenly remembering what had happened. She got off of the couch and went looking for JC. She found him watching TV in the back with Joey and Chris.
Katlyn sat down next to JC and put her head on his shoulder. “Can I get off of the bus now?”
“We’ll be at a rest stop in about an hour. Can you wait that long?”
“As long as I don’t have to see him.”
“Just stay back here with us.”
An hour later Lance walked into the back. “We’re at the rest stop.”
They all got off of the bus to walk around for a while. Katlyn saw Justin walking around talking to a few people, so she quickly walked the other way.
“Katlyn.” Jackie sang running up to her.
“Jackie...it’s so nice to see you.” Katlyn hugged her tightly.
“Kate, what’s going on?” Jackie asked worried.
“I don’t know. Justin and I were talking and...he...he was just different. I guess we kind of broke up.” A tear rolled down her cheek.
“What?! You and Justin broke up?”
Katlyn grabbed her arm and walked away from the crowd. “I don’t know. He was really stressed out and he was yelling at me. I ran out of the room and that’s the last time we talked for the last like twelve hours.”
Jackie saw Justin walking towards them. “Well then, here’s your chance.”
Katlyn turned around and they started walking away from him.
“Katlyn!” Justin called walking faster to catch up with her.
Katlyn started running to get away from him, but she heard him quickly approaching. He grabbed her around the waist to stop her. “Katlyn, I need to tell you something.”
Katlyn turned around to face him. “You told me enough last night.”
“Katlyn, I’m sorry. You were right, I regret what I said...I regretted it right after I said it. I meant none of it.” Justin said truthfully.
“Then why did you say it?”
“I was stressed out and I blamed it on you...just like you said. I’m sorry. Please don’t leave me, I love you.” A tear ran down his cheek. “I’m sorry. It will never happen again.”
Katlyn looked up into his eyes. “Do you know how much that hurt? To hear you say those things about everything that happened the other night...it hurt.”
“I meant nothing I said...I don’t know where it came from. Everything that happened the other night was amazing. I don’t want to lose you...I can’t lose you.” Justin reached out and touched her face. “I love you.”
Katlyn smiled. “I love you too.”
Justin leaned down and kissed her. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s ok...just don’t let it happen again.”
Justin smiled and kissed her again. “It won’t.”
