Chapter 4

The phone awakened Devin, McKenna, and Savannah early the next morning.
"Hello." Devin said tiredly.
"Did I wake you?"
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry."
"That's okay, I needed to get up anyway."
"Is Savannah home?"
"Who is this?"
"Joey." He replied.

"Yeah…" She began.
"Can I talk to her?"
"You could if she were awake." Devin told him. "Do you want me to get her up?"
"No, that's okay."
"Can I take a message?"
"Well, I just wanted to give her my cell-phone number. Can I give it to you and have you give it to her?"
"Sure." She said grabbing a pen and a piece of paper. "Okay."
"Seven, eight, seven, five, three, six, two, two, five, nine."
"Okay."
"Thanks, bye."
"Bye."

"I had the best time last night." Chris said as he sat on the couch next to JC.
"Yeah, I'm glad you invited them." JC said as he thought about the great time he had had with Devin. "I think me and Devin really hit it off."
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Justin began. "I think if me and Savannah stayed in touch we could develop something special." Justin stated. "I mean I know that it would be hard to keep a long distance-"
"Do yourself a favor and stay away from her." Joey said. "She's got a boyfriend." Joey shot a look at Justin. "Besides, even if she didn't... I saw her first."
"So, who cares who saw her first? It's not like she's anyone's possession."
"It has everything to do with who saw her first!"
"Guys, guys! Chill out! You're fighting over a chick you met once. Count 'em, once!" Chris held up one finger. "Who HAS a BOYFRIEND!"
"Personally, I found McKenna to be quite intriguing. She's everything I want in a girl. Sweet, innocent, beautiful..." Lance stated. "Really beautiful."
"Way to go stealth!" JC said giving Lance a high five.

Three Months Later, March 15:
I wonder if I got any mail today. I probably didn't. I never do, except for my birthday and holidays. Mom, Mom, John, Mom, John. Hey, look! There's a letter for me! Savannah quickly opened up the letter and began to read.

Dear Savannah, McKenna, and Devin,

How's it going? We're all really busy. But, we're okay. Here are three backstage passes and front row tickets to our concert on March 20. We hope you guys don't mind doing everything together, on account that you're sisters, and all. Sorry it's so short. Hope to see you all there!

Love,

NSYNC
Joey, Justin, Lance, Chris, and JC

"No way! This is so cool!" Savannah immediately called McKenna and Devin and told them everything. Including how NSYNC thought they were sisters.

March 19, 7:00 PM:
"I can't believe they sent you backstage passes!" Nancy, one of Savannah's friends said excitedly.
"Yeah, I guess. It's not a big deal anymore. You know?"
"No, but I wish I did."
"Well, I gotta go. I have a date."
"With who? Adam?"
"No, we broke up. He was just really…we grew a part."
"Who then?"
"A guy."
"Ya' think?"
"His name is Charles. You know the guy I told you about with the gorgeous blue eyes? My ex-boyfriend."
"Yeah, I remember. Okay, I'll let you go now that you've told me his name. Bye." Nancy said.
"Bye."

At The Movies:
"I'm glad you decided to come with me." Charles said.
"Yeah, me too."
"Come on, the movie is about to start."

"I'm bored." Justin whined.
"We could go see a movie." Justin suggested.
"Where is there a movie theatre?" Chris asked.
"I saw one when we went to go pick up the girls." Justin said.
"Sounds good to me! I'm always up for a good movie." Joey said as got up to get a Pepsi.
"Let's go then. We'll decide what we're seeing when we get there." JC said.
"It's like a half hour away though." Chris moaned.

"That was a great movie." Savannah said as her and Charles walked outside hand in hand heading for the coffee shop that was next door.
"Yeah, it was." Charles said putting his free hand in her back pocket.
"Charles, don't ruin the evening." She said removing his hand from her pocket.
"Okay." He said angrily. "Let's just go get something to eat."
"Yeah, let's."
"Hollywood, you know I really like you. In fact, I liked you when you were going out with David and I still liked you after you broke up with me."
Silence.
"Why did we break up?" Charles asked the young woman who was sitting across from him, staring into his eyes.
"Because, you were moving too fast for me. You were talking about marriage, having kids…you even had our house and kids' names picked out. That was just very overwhelming for me." Savannah said looking away from his eyes. "I just wanted to have fun, harmless fun... In a harmless relationship."
"I can give you that." Charles claimed.
"You might be able to now, but it's not going to happen between us. Not right now anyway."
"Why not?"
"I met someone around Christmas time."
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying that I met someone around Christmas time." Savannah repeatd herself.
"But I love you." Charles said taking Savannah's hand in his. He searched her deep green eyes for a moment, until she looked away. She avoided looking into his extremely perfect blue eyes, but she couldn't resist it. It was like her eyes were metal and his magnets, and they couldn't help being attracted to each other. "I really do, Savannah." He said wide-eyed. She just stared at him.
The waitress then brought out their food in which Charles had paid for.

"Finally, we're here." Chris said.
"Man, there is no where to park except for on the side of the theatre." Justin whined. "And it just began to pour."
"Don't worry your curly little head." Lance began. "You can walk under the coverings. Happy now?"
"Very." Justin said.
