"Is it good?" Charles asked breaking the silence.
"Look, it's a full moon." Chris pointed out. "It's gorgeous." He said as he stared up at it as the others did, too.
"So how are we getting home?" Savannah and Charles had met up at the movies earlier that evening. Damien had dropped her off and his older brother dropped him off too."
"Nothing worth seeing is playing for another hour." Lance stated. "I say we get the car and bag the movie theatre crap. Let's just go rent one." He suggested.
11:30 PM:
"I can't believe she had the nerve to come up and talk to us, with him!" Justin said furiously.
Savannah just nodded and then looked down.
"Hollywood." He said lifting up her lowered chin with his index finger. "Savannah, please just talk to me."
She slowly brought her eyes to where they met the stare of his. She looked down again. Her eyes seemed to be saying that she was hurt.
"What's wrong?" Charles asked standing up and then sitting back down in the chair that was next to her.
"Nothing's wrong. Why would something be wrong?" She replied glumly.
"I don't know, but something is wrong. I can see it in your face." He said putting his arm around her shoulder. "Please tell me." He begged in a soft pleading tone.
"It's just that I had it all figured out." She sighed.
"Had what all figured out?" Charles asked looking at the girl he loved and cared deeply about.
"Everything." She bluntly replied.
"What's everything?"
"Who I liked- loved." She looked up at him. "I used to know. But, I don't anymore." She looked deep into Charles's eyes. "At least I don't think I know. I'm so confused. Maybe what I'm feeling isn't love at all. But what if it is?" A tiny tear fell from her eye, making it's way slowly to the tiled floor.
He brushed her golden brown curls that had fallen upon her cheeks, back and behind her ear. He stared into her eyes... Eyes he had once known well. He placed his hands on her cheeks and then kissed her soft, pink lips tenderly. She was hesitant at first, but she soon relaxed and began to kiss him back. Savannah had forgotten how much she missed his touch, his smooth lips, and his sweet kiss.
"There's only one problem, it's raining." Justin said.
"Come on let's go." JC said as he began to walk away. As they were walking towards the theatre, they peered into a little coffee shop that was next door. "Is that…Naw…it couldn't be."
"Couldn't be what?" Lance asked curiously.
"I thought that was Savannah for a second. But it's not." JC replied bluntly.
"Oh." The other guys stared inside intently.
"That is her!" Chris said. "Let's go say hi."
"No…it looks like she's with someone." JC said. "Don't interrupt them."
"I can't believe her!" Joey spat out madly.
"Why?" Chris asked.
"She's with another guy!"
"You knew from the begining she had a boyfriend, Joey." JC said.
"McKenna told me she broke up with him." Lance informed everyone.
"There's nothing you can do, Joe. Face it."
"JC's right, man. What can you do?" Chris asked somewhat sarcastically.
"I'll tell you what I'm gonna do! I'm gonna go in there and get her." Joey said raising his voice slightly.
"You can't do that! You hardly know her!" Justin protested. "Besides you would be making a total fool out of yourself."
"You just don't want me to do it because you like her!" Joey argued.
"That's not true, not one bit!"
"Is too!" Joey yelled.
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Not!"
"Too!"
"Guys, guys! Let's just go see a movie!" JC said at the top of his lungs, as a girl around the age of thirteen approached him in order to get an autograph.
"Fine." Justin said crossing his arms like a child.
"Fine." Joey repeated. "But I still think you have a crush on her." He added just loud enough that Justin would hear.
"Do not!"
"Guys!" Chris yelled. "Justin, just admit it. Do you honestly believe that you're fooling us?"
"I forgot about that tiny aspect. My car is in the shop, which is why my brother dropped me off. Great!"
"We'll think of something. Don't worry about it." Savanah told him.
"I agree." Chris said. He hadn't wanted to see a movie in the first place.
"I'm gonna go get the car." Lance said.
"I'll go with you." Justin said following Lance.
"I'm just gonna go call my brother. He'll take you home." Savannah said. I hope. She added in her mind.
"Okay." Charles said. "I'll go with you."
"Okay." She said catching a glimpse of Justin and Lance. "Scratch that plan. I have a better idea." Savannah said taking him by the arm and pulling him towards Lance and Justin. I think. I hope. She thought as they approached the two guys.
"What's your plan?"
"Them."
"You're going to ask two total strangers for a ride home?" Charles asked in disbelief.
"No. Remember those guys I was telling you about, the guys from NSYNC?"
"Yeah. What about them?"
"Well, that's two of them." Savannah informed him. "Hey Lance! Hey Justin!"
"Long time no see!" Lance said hugging Savannah.
"Yeah, I know."
"What brings you here? Or should I be asking whom?" Justin said interrogating Savannah.
"What are you talking about?"
"You're a smart girl, figure it out."
"Oh guys I want you to meet my-" Savannah paused briefly. "Charles, this is Charles. Charles this is Justin and that's Lance."
"Hi." Charles said sounding a bit incredulous.
"Where are the rest of the guys?"
"Inside. We're gonna get the car. Apparently they think it's too cold out or something." Lance informed her.
"You know, all of a sudden I'm beginning to feel a bit chilly too." Justin said in a harsh manner. "I'm gonna go wait inside with the guys."
"What's with him?" Savannah asked once Justin was out of earshot.
"He's just jealous." Lance informed her. He then glanced over in Charles's direction.
"What do you mean? Jealous of what?"
"Come talk to me over here."
"Do you mind?" He shook his head. "I'll be right back."
"Okay." Charles said leaning against the brick wall.
"Jealous of what?" Savannah repeated once her and Lance were alone.
"I think the question you need to be asking is jealous of who?"
"What are you getting at?"
"He likes you a lot." Lance enlightened his newfound friend. "Him and Joey are pretty mad."
"Why? I mean I met them both like once. I mean I'm only six-" Savannah corrected herself almost immediately. "I'm only seventeen. For all they know I could be some psychotic mass murder." Savannah said quickly. "Not that I am or anything." She added briskly.
"All I know is that we were walking past the coffee shop and JC said that he thought he saw you inside. But then he came to the conclusion that it wasn't you, just someone that looked somewhat like you. But then Chris insisted it was you and Joey got real mad, like you were his or something. Then Justin got deranged as well. But then he denied liking you. That led to him and Joey getting in this argument. I'm not sure what exactly is up with them. I've never seen them act in that manner before." Lance explained to Savannah. "But I'll tell you, one thing's definitely for sure."
"What's that?"
"You have had a major affect on them."
"How?" She looked extremely confused. "I was with them for a few hours! Are you sure they're not the psychos? I mean c'mon that's just crazy."
"It may be crazy, but it's the honest truth." Lance said.
"Depends..."
"Could you give me and Charles a ride home?"
"I'm sure we can work something out." Lance said. At the time he hadn't even realized that Savannah was seventeen and that if she were that age then she could very well drive herself home.
"Thanks." Savannah said giving Lance a colossal hug. "You're a life saver."
"No problem. Be right back."
"She was just being friendly." Lance said defending Savannah as he approached the guys who were in the arcade.
"So who's the guy she's with?" Chris asked as he continued to beat Joey in Mortal Combat.
"Some guy named Charles." Lance informed the rest of the guys. "Seems okay to me."
"Oh!" Chris said as he beat Joey for the fourth time in a row. "And who's the man?" Chris asked Joey raising his eyebrows.
"Get a life Chris." Joey said.
"Anyway. She wanted to know if we would give her and Charles a ride home. I told her we could. We can right?"
"Yeah, I don't see why not?" JC said.
"No!" Justin and Joey said in unison.
"Yes, we can!" JC argued with the two men. "Just because you two are jealous and very immature, doesn't mean the rest of us have to be!" JC scolded. "We are giving them a ride home. You don't have to speak to her. Just try not to embarrass yourselves."
"In that case I'll go get the car, again." Lance said.
"I'll go with you." Chris said following Lance.
"Hollywood!" Chris yelled.
"Hey Chris!" She said running up to him, throwing her arms around his neck.
"How's it going stranger?" Chris said lifting Savannah off of the ground and placing her over his shoulder.
"It's going." She said just before he began twirling her around.
"Put me down!" She demanded loudly.
"As you wish."
"Thank you." She said sweetly.
"Let's go get the car." Lance said as he laughed at Savannah and Chris' childish behavior.
"C'mon Charles."
"That's okay. I think I'll um…Walk home."
"I'll be right there guys!" Savanah yelled to Chris and Lance. "Why? It's cold and raining. Just let them take you home or at least to my house." She pleaded with him.
"No, it would feel weird." He said to her as Chris and Lance pulled up in a jeep.
"Please." Savannah said in a pleading manner.
"No."
"Fine, Charles. Be stubborn. Go walk home in the cold, wet rain"
"C'mon let's go Savannah!" JC yelled from the backseat.
"Coming!" She said walking away from Charles.
"Hollywood! Wait!" He said as he pulled her towards him.
"Look, I'm cold and wet. And desperately need to get in that car before my ride leaves me." Savannah was now facing Charles.
"I just wanted to…"
"To what?" She asked impatiently.
