Drums, Flash Racing

My email=flash@thespark.com to discuss state of the world, the scene, philosophy, good eating, and what those things on the ends of your shoelaces really are.

Welcome to my little venue to prattle about whatever I want. Hahaha! I have a voice! I should tell you about myself. Born 6-18-81 in a shack made out of old hats down in west Compton. This is a lie. I have been playing the drums for a few years, and typical of my fortune...I still suck. I do have nice drums though-I play an Orange County Drums and Percussion six piece and various snares. These things are my babies. Much respect to John and the OCDP boys for making these puppies for me. For the drummers, check out the OCDP Site to see several items of exquisite beauty. I also use Sabian cymbals, Tama hardware, and have been recently converted to Aquarian heads. I bet you wanted to know.

I joined Caffeine Kid about six or so months after it's inception, and have been loving it ever since. Throughout it all we have tried to maintain positivity and fun in our shows and music. It's all about energy, even though sometimes it has to be sparked chemically. For the record, I am the blasphemer of the CK doctrine-I don't drink caffeine. We are always driven by the crowd. It's so great seeing the kids at shows having fun and going off, even at 12:30 at night.

There is a significant inspiration in my life, that being my younger brother, Christopher. In June of '98 he was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round-cell Tumor (the song title D.S.R.T. is an acronym. The lyrics were written for/about him. Now you know.) Ever since the first day he has been incredible: recovering in amazingly short periods of time, coming back from amazing odds, and fighting with valor not posessed by many 13 year-old boys. We continue that fight today. Support the American Cancer Society.

I want to give a shout out to this scene. Everyone that is true to what goes on is so supportive and great. It's all about family. Much respect goes out to the following: I'm With Stupid-there are hardly better guys on the face of this planet; Cobra Kai-I love you guys, sorry I suck as your manager; Illborn-the brotherhood runs deep; KyrosGP6-always a killer show; Dumb Luck-sooo about the music, sooo sexy; Chinese Mustache-buncha Fancy Pants; ESP-remember back in the day; Lazyeye-baby, one more time; Froglick-amazing dedication, and consume almost more caffeine than we do; John-always incredible sound; The Cafe-(moment of silence please); Veteran's-respect for the refuge, now overrun by rent-a-cops; and all the people that come to shows, ours and other band's-this scene thrives on you.

Me and my brother, Chris
