Hannah smiled to herself as she read the Love, Nick part of the letter.
She got up out of bed and felt dizzy. She ignored the feeling and went to the bathroom, to get in the shower. She stayed in the shower for thirty minutes, trying to soothe her achy muscles. She finally got out and changed into pajama pants and a tank top. She turned on the radio and began to sing as she cleaned the apartment.
"I'm like a bird, I only fly away. I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is."
Nick came into the apartment and closed the door behind him. He saw Hannah singing and dancing around the kitchen and he grinned.
"Nice singing." he smirked standing near the kitchen doorway.
Hannah jumped, not knowing he was there, and turned around.
"Oh my god, I didn't know you cam home, I am so embarrassed." she said covering her face with her hands.
Nick walked in and threw his keys on the counter.
"Don't be, you have a nice voice." he said opening the fridge and looking for a soda, "How are you feeling?"
"Truthfully? Horrible. But I wanted to clean the house. It's the least I could do to repay for everything you've done." she said.
Nick took her hand and lead her to her room.
"Go lay down, I can manage." he said.
Hannah sighed in relief and went in to her room to lay down.
A few minutes later, Nick showed up in pajama pants and a t-shirt with his playstation in his hand.
"Up for a game?" he asked with the famous Carter smile.
Hannah nodded and patted next to her on the bed.
Nick plugged in the playstation and started up the game. He grabbed the controllers and sat down next to Hannah, handing her one.
"You ok? You look really pale." Nick said putting his hand on her forehead to see if she had a fever.
"I'm just worn out. I guess I thought I was getting better, but I'm not. I'll be fine." she said waving her hand as if dismissing his concern.
Nick got up and got the cold and flu medicine.
Hannah laughed as he sat back down and handed her a pill and a glass of water.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
"Nothing. It's just, who would've thought me and you would be sitting here talking and playing games?" she said.
Nick nodded and smiled, "I am glad we are though." he said a little shyly.
"Yeah, me too." she said softly.
Nick started the game and began driving his little Mario in the car up the track, as Hannah's Yoshi followed behind. She 'accidentally' bumped his arm, causing his cart to run off the track.
"Hey! No fair!" he whined.
Hannah laughed and turned back to the game.
"Thanks Nick."
"For what?"
"Everything. You've done so much for me. I just don't understand why. I mean, I was so mean to you before." she said feeling guilty.
"Maybe I like you." he said looking over at her from the game.
Hannah raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, well maybe I like you."
Nick slowly brushed a piece of hair away from Hannah's face and let his hand lay lightly on her cheek.
"Nick..." she said softly.
"Shh..." he said as he leaned in and let his lips softly touch hers.
He parted from her and her lips tingled for the first time in a long while.
He began to give her another kiss when she pulled back a little.
"Your gonna catch my flu." she whispered as her heart raced.
"So let me."
Hannah smiled as she leaned in and kissed Nick.
