Devon walked Julia back to her dorm room and kissed her on the cheek good-bye. Right when Julia went to open the door, she heard the phone ringing. She fiddled with the key and got inside.
"Is Brooke there?" someone asked.
"No, she is in class, may I take a message?" Julia asked.
"Julia? Hey, it's Brian, how are you?"
"Oh hi! I'm good, how's the trip?"
"Good. In one minute!" Brian said.
"What?" Julia asked.
"Oh, I was saying the trip is good, but Nick is practically pulling the phone out of my hands to talk to you. Let me give you to him." Brian said laughing.
"Okay, I will tell Brooke you called. See you at the end of the week."
"Thanks, tell her I will call her back. Okay? Here's Nick..." Brian said handing the phone off.
"Hey." Nick said.
"Hi Nick, are you having fun on the trip?"
"No, it's all business stuff. Very boring. How'd the date with your friend go?" he asked.
"Good, we had fun ... well I should probably let you go." Julia said.
"Yeah, Kevin's giving me a dirty look. I will call you later this week. Okay?" he said waiting for a response.
"Okay, Bye Nick."
"Bye."
Two hours later, Brooke came through the door.
"Oh hey, Brian called earlier, he said he'd call you back and so Jack called too." Julia informed.
"I figured Jack would call." Brooke said with a sound of annoyance.
"Why?" Julia asked.
"We had a huge fight. I simply told him that I'm not looking for someone to hurt me. And he needs to be committed. I think he is cheating on me." Brooke said with her eyes full of tears, "But I love him, so I am stuck..." she said with a few running down her face.
Julia hugged her soothingly, "I hope everything works out Brooke."
"Yeah, me too. But anyways," she said wiping away the tears and cheering up a little, "That was really sweet of Brian to call from California."
"I know, Nick called me too." Julia said casually.
"Man! That boy has got it bad for you!" Brooke giggled.
Just then, Gabby came through the door.
"Hey honey's, I'm home." she laughed.
"Hey." Julia and Brooke said in unison.
"Do you two have classes tonight?" Gabby asked slipping off her shoes.
They both were free for the night.
"I propose we have a night out for the girls!" Gabby said with a mischievous smile.
"I'll go." Julia said.
"Me too." Brooke agreed.
"Good and ladies?" Gabby said starting to turn away.
"Yeah?" they both replied.
"Let's break some hearts tonight." Gabby said with an all too familiar smile.
