''So uh, wanna play this game or another?'' Nick asked.
''This one is fine'' Hayley said back as she smiled at him.
Her smile is so warm, Nick thought. The new round of the game started and ended as quickly.
''Why Nickolas Carter! I just won a round with no fight!'' she laughed. She looked at him and noticed he was staring into her eyes.
''Nick, what are you looking at ?!?'' she exclaimed.
It's now or never he thought. He leaned in and gently kissed her lips. With his eyes still closed he leaned back and opened them, to see her smiling. He smiled his half smile back at her.
''My heart is beating so fast...'' Hayley whispered.
''Is that a good thing or a bad thing?'' he asked.
She answered him by just smiling. She couldn't believe her dreams were coming true. But wait, she thought, was this kiss from his heart, or a spur of the moment thing?
As Nick sat there staring at Hayley, he noticed her smile fading into deep thought.
''What's wrong?'' he asked her, a little worried.
When she didn't answer, he wanted to reassure her he really liked her. He leaned in to kiss her again, but this time she pushed him back.
''I can't do this.'' she said.
''What? Why?'' he stumbled over the words, thinking he may have hurt the relationship, with the girl he was crazy about.
''Nick, I've never felt about anyone the way I do about you. You mean so much more to me then you will ever believe. And I don't want to waste our past and friendship over feelings that you may not even feel!'' Hayley said.
Nick just sat there staring at her. He was shocked by her feelings for him, he couldn't believe she liked him back.
Realizing she just poured her heart out, she began to cry.
''No, no. Don't do that.'' Nick said.
He moved closer to her, and wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly.
''When you are in my arms, it's like heaven'' he whispered.
He kissed her on the top of her head and let go of her, to look at her. She still had a few tears running down her face. She wiped them away and looked at Nick. She waited for Nick to tell her how he felt. She just sat there, and looked into his eyes.
