He looked at her soft skin, beautiful lips, and her innocent face. And he realized how beautiful she was.
Nick always thought of her as the girl he would have to struggle against to win video games. The girl who he would go to if something was on his mind. The girl he would call Lee-Lee to tease her.
He focused back in on her and noticed she was awakening. He closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. When he was really trying to shake the thoughts of the beautiful girl who had always been right in front of him.
He felt Hayley tickle his hand and he pretended to wake up.
''Hi, how long have you been up?'' he said through a fake yawn.
''Only a minute or so.'' She sat up and stretched.
''Thanks for being my pillow'' she giggled.
He smiled at her. ''Anytime, but know you owe me a game of Nintendo 64!'' he laughed.
''Oh no, not again.'' She groaned.
They both laughed, knowing she hated video games.
''I promised my dad I would help him clean the garage today. Yeah, I know, what fun...I will come over right after I am finished though.'' she thought for a moment.
''Why don't you go see your beloved Emma?'' she teased.
''I don't like her like that anymore!'' he said.
''Yeah, okay.'' She said as she grabbed her shoes and headed for the door.
''See you later loverboy'' she called behind her.
He laughed to himself. He didn't know what to do. Forget about his ideas on Hayley and continue to watch Emma and AJ flirt. Or tell Hayley his feelings. He sat and thought for a minute.
''Well, I might as well not waste the day'' he said to himself. He got up to go take a shower. He realized he couldn't wait to see Hayley again that night.
