''AJ, sorry about that. You deserve the part, but I gotta go talk to Hayley.'' Nick said.
''It's alright, I understand man'' AJ replied.
Nick walked out side and spotted Hayley sitting on the stone wall between the ocean and Kevin's house. He walked over to the wall and sat down next to Hayley. She didn't even acknowledge him. They both sat quiet for a minute or two. Then Hayley spoke up.
''I'm scared Nick'' she said not looking at him. He didn't understand what she meant, so he waited for her to go on. ''If we have only been dating two days and we already had a fight...what lies ahead?'' she said biting her lip to hold back tears.
''Hayley...I am sorry about how I treated you in there and I promise to never make you out to be a possesion. The real reason why I was saying how your my girlfriend is because. Well, because now that I have you, I don't ever want to lose you.'' Nick said in a tone that was just above a whisper.
Hayley looked up at Nick, and was touched by what he said. She pushed over so she was sitting directly next to him, and she laid her head on his chest.
About 5 minutes later, Nick and Hayley were disturbed in the middle of a kiss by AJ.
AJ pretended to be crying, ''Aww my little Hayley, all grown up!'' he joked.
They all laughed. AJ wrapped his arm around Hayley's shoulders and all three friends walked back into the house.
