Around midnight Nick smacked Brian in the shoulder. "What? What? Who's there?" Brian said waking up startled.
"B-Rok, will you go sleep in Anna's tent and have Leigh come over here, I need to talk to her." Nick whispered.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm going..." a very sleepy Brian mumbled.
He got up and went over to Anna's tent.
"Anna?" he said in a loud whisper.
He heard a stir inside the tent, hopefully someone was waking up.
"Mmm...yeah?" he heard her say quietly.
"Nick wants to talk to Leigh. Wake her up, and make sure your not naked. I have to come in your tent." Brian said with a little laugh.
He heard Anna giggle a little then she woke Leigh up.
"Ugh! What? Can't I just sleep?" Leigh complained.
Anna explained to her that Nick wanted to talk.
Leigh got up and fell out of the tent, she was so tired. She looked up at Brian and made a face.
"What is wrong with this picture? Oh yeah! We should be asleep." Brian said a little amused by the situation.
"I know. Believe me I know. Nick is gonna pay for this one." Leigh said switching tents with Brian.
Once Leigh was inside the tent with Nick, she punched Nick's shoulder.
"What is wrong with you? Waking me up from a peaceful sleep." she groaned.
"I needed to talk to you." he said simply.
Leigh took a closer look at him and noticed he was serious.
"What is it?" she sighed.
"Are you okay? I mean, did I do something wrong?" Nick asked quietly.
Leigh rubbed her tired eyes, "Nick what are you talking about?" she said a little annoyed.
"You have barely spoken to me, you get nervous when we are alone and you dodge me every time I try to kiss you. I mean I don't care if you don't kiss me, but I'm just worried about how you are acting." he said sincerely.
Leigh yawned, "Nick this really isn't the best time to talk about this. It's the middle of the night!" she said getting more annoyed.
She knew he was just worried about her, but it was the middle of the night, and she didn't feel like having a serious talk. She decided she better leave the tent before she got mad.
Just as she was about to leave, she heard Brian snoring loudly. Leigh sat down with a huff.
"I guess I am sleeping here, Brian's asleep in my bed." she said laying down.
She got into Brian's sleeping bag and turned her back towards Nick.
Nick laid there a minute, wondering what he did wrong. The worst part of it, was that she wouldn't even talk to him about it.
"Goodnight Leigh." he said sheepishly.
"Night." she said dully.
The next morning, Nick woke up alone in the tent.
He got out of the tent and stretched, seeing Anna, Brian and Leigh all sitting in front of a new fire laughing.
Nick went to the cooler, grabbed himself a soda and sat down next to Brian.
"Morning." Nick said in a bit of a bad mood, because of last night.
"Good Morning." Brian and Anna said back.
Leigh stood up, "Why don't me and Anna go get stuff for breakfast, and you two can clean up the tents or something."
Anna grabbed her keys off of the picnic table. The girls got into the car and drove off.
Nick sat down in a chair and his face sunk. Brian looked at Nick, and he looked really upset.
"What's wrong?" Brian asked sitting down again.
Nick took a deep breath, "I think Leigh hates me. She will hardly speak to me. And I care about her so much. I just don't know what I did wrong." Nick said avoiding eye contact with Brian because he was embarrassed.
"Do you know what this is doing to me?" Nick said with a sad voice.
"Nick, you have to tell her how you feel." Brian said.
He was very worried about Nick because he had never seen Nick so upset before.
"How can I when she won't even talk to me?" Nick asked frustrated.
"She will. Sit down with her." Brian said sympathetically.
Nick sighed then got up and cleaned his tent. Brian did the same to the girls. Then they both cleaned up the empty soda cans and by that time the girl had come back.
After eating breakfast, when they were all cleaning up when Nick decided to say something.
"Leigh we need to talk." Nick said abruptly.
Brian and Anna backed up a little, to give them privacy.
"About what?" she sighed.
"About us." Nick said.
"What's there to talk about?! We will finally take a step forward, then get in a fight and take two back. Over and over again. End of story." Leigh said truthfully, but coldly.
"Leigh-" Nick started.
"What? What do you want from me?!" she screamed.
"All I want is you! Why can't you see that?" Nick yelled back.
Leigh was speachless for a minute.
"Oh god..." she said as she walked off crying.
