Lauren and AJ exited Brittany's house with smiles on their faces.
"Thank goodness that's over," Lauren said.
"Yeah. Now...about us..." AJ said, with a smirk on his face.
"Whaaat?" Lauren asked, curiosity evident in her eyes.
"Haha, you're so cute," AJ complimented. "Let's go get in my car, and I'll take you to a very special place."
Lauren put her hands on her hips. "Where?."
"Can't tell. Now come on!" AJ grabbed Lauren's hand and took her on a run toward his car, parked in Nick's driveway.
Brittany approached the driveway and heard giggling and mock-screaming from inside the garage. She wondered if Nick had brothers and sisters. Before she could take a step further, a very pretty girl ran out to the Focus and hid behind the bumper. Britt crouched behind a bush and watched the girl. "Come and get me!" she yelled. Must be the baby-sitter, Brittany thought.
"ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!" Nick came out roaring at the girl. She shrieked, and ran around. Nick caught her in his arms, and kissed her.
Britt's heart stopped. She ran up the driveway, her hands clenched into fists. Nick heard something approaching, and he took a step back away from Mandy. OH NO, Nick thought, seeing Britt. Before he could react, Brittany punched him hard in the eye.
"YOU ASSHOLE! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?" Brittany screamed.
Nick was furious. "ME? BRITTANY, WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME THIS MORNING, YOU MOTHER-FUCKING BITCH!"
Brittany's tears streamed down her face. "I CAME BACK TO TELL YOU THAT I LOVE YOU, NICK! I WAS WRONG! I'M WRONG, NICK! I CAME BACK TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS! I DON'T LOVE AJ! I NEVER DID! I LOVED YOU!"
Nick was stunned. Speechless. His mouth hung open and he stared at Brittany's pleading eyes. He should take her back, but...
Mandy took a step forward toward Britt. "Listen to me, you little bitch! You're the one who hurt MY Nicky, and now you'll pay! Do you hear me?"
Brittany glared at Mandy and stood her ground. "No, Mandy, I don't. You're not the boss of me."
Mandy took ahold of Brittany's cast and looked at Nick. She pointed to Britt's arm. "Lookie here, Nicky! What a baby! Can't even suck up a little broken bone!" She slapped Britt and pushed her to the ground. Brittany landed hard on the concrete and cried out from the pain. With tears running down, she stood up and brushed herself off. Her eyes looked so sad to Nick. Britt shook her head. "I'm sorry, Nick. For everything. Mandy, he's all yours." She turned around and ran back home.
"Babe, we're almost there. In fact, we are now." AJ said.
"Well that was quick," Lauren said. "This better be good!"
"It isn't much," AJ said. "Just a little something to get away from the Brittany vs. Nick feud."
"It sounds perfect," Lauren said with a giggle.
AJ got out of his car and went to Lauren's side. He opened the door, and helped her out. He took off the blindfold. Her eyes lit up. "Oh AJ!" She turned around, looking at the swings, the slide, the basketball hoop, the lake...they were at the park where they first met. "How romantic!" Lauren said, hugging AJ. He kissed her forehead and took a blanket out of the car. "What do you say we spend the night together?" AJ said, smiling.
"It sounds great," Lauren approved, smiling.
The couple walked hand in hand down towards the edge of the lake. They spread out the blanket and laid down together, cuddling and talking.
"Do you think Britt and Nick will get back together?" AJ asked.
"Oh yeah...AJ, you know they love each other!" Lauren said, nodding.
AJ shook his head. "Lauren, you saw Nick kissing Mandy. Are you sure? I mean, they were cuddling like it was old times. Mandy was really special to Nick...they've known each other since preschool. They went out for almost three years. They almost got married. And Nick's known Brittany for what, a week? I just don't know..."
Lauren held her head high and looked out to the lake. "They'll get back together. I just know it. Britt was meant to be with Nick."
AJ looked at Lauren. "How can you be so sure?"
"Let's not talk about them. Let's not talk at all," she said, grinning. AJ grinned back, and they began to kiss. And not just a little kiss, they KISSED. AJ ran his hand under Lauren's shirt. Lauren didn't argue. Pretty soon, they were almost naked. The moonlight shone onto their bodies. Lauren looked in AJ's eyes. She nodded, without him having to say a word.
"Are you sure?" AJ asked.
"Positive." Lauren affirmed.
"But I don't have a -" AJ started, but Lauren interrupted. "I trust you." AJ smiled, and their bodies became one.
Nick pushed her away. "I think you better go," he said.
Mandy stepped back. "What?!?! Don't tell me you love her!"
Nick didn't answer.
"She's right!" Mandy screamed. "You are an asshole!" She kicked Nick in the crotch. He fell over, groaning in pain. Mandy gave him a final kick to the ribs, jumped into her car, and sped off.
"Women," Nick said aloud to himself. He finally got up and decided to make amends with Britt. "I am such a dick," he said to himself. "She'll never take me back! I just kissed another girl...am I a player?" Nick toyed with the idea on the way to Brittany's house. He walked along slowly, still sore from Mandy's kicks. He kicked rocks along the way, stopped to smell flowers, and looked at the houses. Nick was doing anything to stall. He needed to think of a way to woo Britt and find a way back to her heart.
