You may remember Ollie and Brett from childrens TV drama "Byker Grove" where they played "Marcus" and "Noddy". Brett and Ollie became friends at the Byker auditions and decided to start a band with Jon Newman. For about 5 years the three lads toured the country searching for a record deal. They met up with the Warner record company, and gave their final shot at getting a deal, and decided they would split up if they did not get signed...but fortuanatly...they did! From this last chance "the breaking point" the name of the band was formed, POINT BREAK.
PB continued writing songs and were ready to release a single called "In Florida", but Jon had to leave due to health reasons. Brett and Ollie decided to carry on and search for a new member. Now this is where Dec comes in! Dec was spotted by PB's manager on "This Morning" in a competition called "search for a boyband". They saw Dec and decided that he was perfect for the band, and asked him to join.
Two months later the video for "Do we rock?" was filmed, which reached no.29 in the UK charts. This was followed by "Stand Tough", reaching no.7, "Freakytime" reaching no.13, "You" reaching no.14, and "What About Us" which is taken from the debut album "Apocadelic" released last summer.
Last year PB toured with Steps and Smash Hits (where they managed to set the stage on fire!) and this year they are doing an U18's club tour as well is touring with the EMAP Fanta Challenge! Phew! For a full list of dates visit their official website on www.point-break.net.
