"Ew, Brian! Who taught you to do that?" Jessica laughed as Brian spurted orange juice out his nose.
"Nick."
"Figures," Jessica muttered, "Nick, why do ya gotta teach Brian such disgusting things?"
"Yeah," AJ agreed, "Isn't that Jessica's job?"
Jessica hit AJ playfully, "Shut up! ...so, what're we doing tonight?"
"Uh, I'm rehearsing for Hard Rock Live," AJ said.
"I'm going out with Kristen," Kevin said.
Howie thought for a moment, "I might have a date with Emily..."
"Might?" Nick asked.
"Yeah, well, we were supposed to, but then we got in an argument, and now I'm not so sure..."
"Well, you can hang with me," Nick offered.
"Guess that just leaves you and me," Brian said to Jessica.
"What, you don't have a date with Steph?"
Brian looked upset at the mention of her name, "Didn't I tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
Brian shook his head, "Nothing, I'll tell you later... so wadda ya wanna do tonight?"
"How about a movie?"
Jessica was glad she had him all to herself that night. They were best friends, even though they hardly ever saw each other, so this would be a perfect oprotunity to share some quality time.

"So what was it you were going to tell me?" Jessica asked as they walked through the park after the movie.
"Huh?"
"Something about Stephanie?"
"Oh, right, we're not dating anymore."
"I'm sorry!"
"Don't be, I'm the one that broke up with her."
"Why?" Jessica asked, surprised. She had always thought that he was perfectly happy and in love with Stephanie.
"Honestly?"
Jessica sat down on a bench, "Brian, you know you can tell me anything, and I'll still love you, just the same."
"I love you," he whispered.
She smiled and gave him a hug, "I love you too, so?"
"No, I mean..." Brian leaned forward and kissed her.
"Oh."
"I understand if you don't feel that way about me, and that's fine with me, because I don't wanna ruin our friendship, I just wanted you to know..."
Jessica didn't know what to say. "I lied to you."
"What?"
"When I said that whatever you had to say wouldn't change anything. It does change things... You see, I feel the same way for you... I always have, but I'm scared."
"Of what?"
"What if we do decide to act on these feelings, and it doesn't work out? I'm scared to lose the friendship we've worked so hard to build."
"But what if it would work out, and we never find out? You have to take a chance, Jess... trust me."
