Meet Candy Cane - Candy for short. So named because of the cane-like curve at the tip of her extra-long tail. (It's so long - in fact - that it didn't even fit in the picture.) Candy is a beautiful 3 year old gray tabby who is living in her third home, through no fault of her own. Sadly, her first owner died, after which Candy and her sister, Lady Jane, went to live at Cats, Inc., a cat sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, care, and treatment of cats. She was quite content living there, but glad to move on to less congested housing when the sanctuary - with the remaining 35 cats - was to move to another state. Happily, Candy and Jane were adopted together and have adapted well to sharing their new home with four other cats.

Candy is not anti-social but does enjoy spending time alone. She's discovered places to nap where no one can find her. When not napping, you'll find her perched in the second floor bathroom window keeping a close eye on the comings and goings in the neighborhood. Candy's a talker and gets frustrated with her human who has not yet learned cat-speak. (What's with that anyway?)

The only thing she doesn't like about her new home is her encounters with Samantha, the Persian. Samantha seems to have an attitude of sorts and doesn't give anyone - cats or people - any slack. She's best to be avoided, but sometimes confrontations "just happen" and Candy is not one to back down when challenged. It rarely goes beyond "posturing" on Samantha's part and soon the household is at peace again. Candy doesn't expect to be best friends with Samantha any time soon, but peaceful co-existence would be nice for the time being.
