Formats
1. Individual
Stableford
This format will be played off full handicaps with strokes and points recorded
on all cards. Cards must be signed (by player) and countersigned (by marker)
to avoid disqualification.
2.
Four Ball, Better Ball Stableford (Two per team)
The format is similar to
that of Individual Stableford (full handicaps) except that only the better
score for each hole will be recorded on the card and the team score
will be the sum of these better scores at each hole aggregated over 18 holes.
Please record BOTH scores.
3.
Team Stableford (Three per team)
Again the format is
similar except that the best TWO scores for each hole will be
aggregated and the poorest score dropped.
In the event of a tie there will be a counterback with the best points score for the LAST NINE HOLES PLAYED being declared the winner(s). Should the result remain unresolved the individual, or team, with the best points score over the last six holes, then the last three holes will win. We then resort to the number of pars and birdies scored.
Handicapping
All participants will start the 2003 season by playing off the handicaps allocated at the end of the 2002 season. This allocation is based on a player's performance and consistency during the previous season and NOT on any anomalous score returned. Any members who have played consistently below par will have their handicap reduced; any members who have played consistently above par will have their handicap increased, thereby reducing the differential between good and moderate players. Each member has a copy of the handicap list. Should a member have a particularly successful round of golf during the season then his/her handicap will be reduced in the following way:
