In 1988, loving the work so much, I enlisted into the US Army
Active as a Military Police Officer. After just one year, and a whole lot
of hard work, I was nominated to attend and obtain my Additional Skill
Identifier (ASI) as a Military Police Investigator. Being semi proficient
in both Spanish and French I was immediately put in for a PCS Vacation to
Panama.
534th MP Co CS
In Panama I was one of two Investigators attached to the 534th
MP CS Company. We spent many months of cat and mouse with General Manuel
Noriega prior to Just Cause. When we were briefed about Just Cause it was
more of a relief then any immediate fear. We had lived it for so many
months it was just another roll out. I became one of the first women to be
activated in a combat roll (even though women were not recognized as being in
combat yet). I was very sick at the time we were activated but opted to
roll with the rest of the team. I remained with my unit up until the
company moved back to the home base, at which time I immediately went medevac to
Ft Sam Houston. After my surgery I requested to transfer back to Panama to
take part in the training of new Panamanian police forces. I worked in
panama until my PCS date. Taking part in the mop up activities and working
with the new civilian Panamanian police.

In 1990 I was transferred to West Point Military Academy in New
York. I worked as a Military Police Investigator for two years and in 1992
was medically discharged disabled.
Retired in Sunny Southern Texas
I remain very active as a disabled veteran. I am active as
a volunteer, and when I am not volunteering ... I spend time on my porch bird
watching, doing needlepoint, or just playing on my puter. I am happily
married to my Crusty Old Sarge and have raised 3 children. I have a
Daughter who is a Licensed Vocational Nurse with the US Army Reserve, One
Son who is in the Navy, and Another Son who was in the Airforce.
