It was warm that night so Lance Bass left his window open while he slept. It felt good to be in his own bed, in his own time. Nsync had celebrated coming home that day after an unexpected trip through time. He figured, he might as well enjoy home while it lasted. The next day he was going to go to Russia and prepare for his space flight taking place in three days. Even though he was fulfilling his dream, he knew he would miss home very, very much.
All of a sudden, out of nowhere, something landed on top of him and started ruffling his hair. His eyes popped open.
“Rise and shine sleepy head, let’s go. You got a plane to catch,” said the person who had jumped on him.
“I should’ve known,” Lance said. It was Justin Timberlake, a fellow Nsyncer who had jumped on him. Justin was always jumping on people to wake them up when something exciting was happening that day. “Don’t you mean we got a plane to catch?” he asked. His friends were coming to Russia with him to watch the launch.
“Whatever! Just get up!” He pulled Lance out of the bed and pushed him into the bathroom. “Take your shower and get dressed.” He left the room.
When Lance entered the kitchen a little while later, he found the rest of Nsync already in there, eating breakfast. He poured himself a bowl of cereal, grabbed a piece of toast and a glass or milk, and sat down.
“Morning Lance,” said Joey Fatone without looking up from the news article he was reading.
“Morning,” Lance responded. He quickly ate his breakfast, put the dishes in the sink, and hurried out of the room.
He went back to his room to make one final check that he had everything he needed. Then, he picked up his duffel bag and carried it downstairs. Then, he plopped on the living room couch.
“All set?” asked Chris Kirkpatrick, entering the room, his own duffel bag swung over his shoulder.
“Yeah, I think so,” Lance said. “I should have everything I need. I checked and re-checked to make sure I didn’t forget anything. So, I’m pretty sure I’m ready. What about you, got everything you need?”
“Yep! I’m even bringing a video camera to film the launch so you can see what it looks like from the outside of the ship when you get home. Also, I think it would be nice to remember the day that you began living your dream. It’s also a good source of proof. Technically, I think you should get some sort of reward.”
“Reward? Why?”
“Because, you’ll be setting two records. One for being the first pop star in space, and one for being the youngest person in space. You should feel really lucky Lance.” At that point the other guys came in with their duffel bags.
“Okay, let’s get going, since everybody’s ready,” said JC Chasez. “We don’t want to miss this plane, especially not Lance.”
The five of them walked outside and climbed in the limo. It sped off in the direction of Orlando International Airport. The airport was only about a fifthteen minute drive from their house. Lance was relieved about that. It made things so much easier because they could leave at a time that would decrease the waiting time for the plane.
When they got to the airport, they quickly ran inside. Just as the announcement that their plane was boarding came on, they made it to the gate. Within minutes they were in their seats and on their way to Russia.
