Hey. There's a pattern whenever I date someone. I start dating them 'cos they ask me out, and I think they're passable, and I'm like 'Why not!'.
And I'm not really into them, and don't make much of an effort, and am generally pretty crap at the start. But then they start growing on me, and I start cleaning the apt before they call round, and spiking my hair and stuff.
And then they break up with me, after around 10 weeks, WITHOUT FAIL!

Give it up. She's over you and you need to move on. For better or for worse sounds like it's gotten ugly and when someone disrepects you by admitting adultry it's time to throw in the proverbial towel. If she's the one for you it's not going to be now.

My wife and I married young. I was never able to save money so she had to do phone sex and when her parents found out they made her move to South Carolina. She's happier there and wants a divorce now. Her parents won't let me speak to her and her job thinks I am harassing her. I went to see her and she wouldn't see me. She told me that she has slept with another man and that it's over. Everyone tells me to give up and get divorced but I am still in love with her. Any suggestions?

What's happening here is people dig on you when you don't seem interested. They get the ten-week itch when you start to show interest because you're dating the type of person who doesn't want much attention from you in the first place. The relationship that begins in the manner you've described will rarely work because there must be a genuine and sincere mutual interest from the beginning. At best, your experience thus far has helped you figure you what you DON'T want.

Be more selective and hold out for someone that truly captivates you. The next time you feel like you're NOT being so cool and detached from the beginning of a new relationship, you're probably onto something special.
