The Griz Sky is NOT Falling, but this team's is.......
Mood:  surprised

I see where a lot of folks on eGriz are crying over the loss to EWU last week. While it wasn't fun to watch our beloved Griz lose, especially in the confines of Wash/Griz Stadium, check out the following poor bastards. They've lost all of their first 6-games for a combined score of 299-0!

U of Montana Grizziles to play for National Championship!
Mood:  special
Now Playing: Up With Montana!
Topic: Montana Grizzly Posts

It's been a long road to the top this year and the Griz have made it. The Montana Grizzlies will square of against the James Madison Dukes on December 17, 6 p.m. MST, at Finley Stadium/Davenport Field Chattanooga, Tennessee. After defeating the much touted SHSU fire power of QB Justin Long (Payton Award Candidate) was picked apart by the Griz, 34 to 13. Long's dismal showing and lack of sportsmanship may have put his Payton Award in the most likely hands of the William and Mary QB Lang Campbell (4 INTS), another nominee. Long (16 INTS) and some of his teamates refused to shake hands with the Griz and walked out of the stadium after their loss. For the record there were several SHSU players who stayed on the field to shake hands with the Griz.

It's Time for a Little REVENGE SHSU !
Mood:  special
Topic: Montana Grizzly Posts
Sam Houston State University comes to our house, that's right OUR HOUSE....Wash/Griz stadium. And guess what....the Griz are pissed off to say the least. Grizzlies have uncanny instincts, which includes excellent memories and they remember the day, September 18th when SHSU beat us 29-41, playing an almost perfect game. Well guess what punks, it's our turn, in our house. I hope you enjoy our house, because we keep the thermostat kinda low and the altitude is sky high!! Mwhaaa Ha Ha Ha!

Yes folks, it's revenge time this Saturday at Wash/Griz in Missoula, MT where the little team from Texas will get spanked 41 to 29, live on ESPN!

Well the last of the Northwestern University football (lost 56-7) team has been neatly scraped off of the Grizgrass at Wash/Griz stadium, as we welcome the New Hampshire Wildcats to an ass kicking, Montana style.

While the Wildcats are 8 - 0 on the road, (impressive for any team), they have yet to experience a game in Missoula. The whole game day experience, with the loud crowd, awesome stadium, beautiful setting, Montana hospitality, and the altitude (Mwha ha ha ha!), oh and lest I forget, The Griz!!!!, should have the Wildcats running with their cat tails between their legs back to New Hampshire.

ESPN2 will be broadcasting the game. Portable lights will be set up around the stadium for the later than normal start time of 2pm MST. So if you're going to the game make an ESPN2 sign if you want your mug on TV.

Info on the enemy can be found here...New Hampshire Wildcat Link

The folks at NH are making a bid deal out of the injury sustained by their all world reciever David Ball. He's out with a broken ankle. On the other hand their coach earlier in the week referenced trickery by both teams this season. While I feel for this Ball fellow if indeed he's out, I wouldn't put it past NH for this to be disinformation spin-o-rama, and Mr. Ball comes out of the tunnel this Saturday dressed and ready to rock. But that's me and my paranoia talkin. :) ROCK ON GRIZ !!!!

When the I-AA selection committee unveiled its playoff bracket Sunday, the Southland Conference champion Demons (8-3) drew a first-round matchup with the Big Sky Conference champion Grizzlies (9-2) in Missoula, where Northwestern's last two playoff appearances ended with losses in 2001 (28-19) and 2002 (45-14).

Might as well make it 3 losses in a row Demons. Bring yer longjohns if ya got any, cuz it's gonna be cold on the sidelines, watchin us score.

Griz to Play Hornets
Mood:  mischievious
Topic: Montana Grizzly Posts
The University of Montana Grizzlies will be playing the Sacramento Hornets this Saturday at 12:05pm, at Wash/Griz stadium, Missoula, Montana and I can't wait! Just look at the stats....they don't add up...nothing does....Sad Sac's Dismal Stats I can't wait for this for 2-reasons...
1. Sacramento beat the Cats last week. (Mwhaaa Ha Ha Ha!)
2. SAC's coach was whining last year that we ran up the score. Well coach, we're gonna run it up even more this year, so hang on to your aorta!!

Bring On The Lumberjacks!
Mood:  energetic
Topic: Montana Grizzly Posts
It's NAU in Wash/Griz stadium this Saturday and I can't wait. It's been too damned long (well 2-weeks) since the Griz have been at home. It's always fun to experience the atmosphere in Missoula on game day. Hopefully Jason Murietta, their all world QB will continue to have problems or we're all hosed. If he has a break out game he'll destroy our weak DB's. Git Yer Scat Together Griz...and Kick some Jack Ass! Here's the most recent photo I could find of the NAU Jacks. It appears that they are due for an equipment upgrade.

Tons of Info for the Upcoming Game

The Portland State Viking are "gearing up" or running with their legs between their tails. It's hard to tell. I really don't see the Vikes doing much in this game. The Griz are just a better overall team with more weapons than a coach could dream for. The Vikes have Fuqua (that's it), an excellent running back that's been on their team for what seems like 8 or 9 years now! The Griz should swallow up these guys to the tune of 42 to 24.For more information on PSU's perspective of this Saturday's game, here's the link.PSU Link

Griz Gnaw Away On Eagles 31 - 28 !
Mood:  happy
Topic: Montana Grizzly Posts
WoW! What a game, what a battle by two good teams. In the end though, the Good Guys Win! Scott Carpenter hits a key 39 yard field goal, with nerves of steel. Way to go freshman!

Griz Shane MacIntyre blocks a last chance field goal by EWU to ice the game. Shane had a great game, flying all over the field killing Eagles. The Griz only had 2 penalties this game, heck...there were only 7 penalties the whole game! I knew if we had some normal refs the Griz would prevail.
I liked the play of #37, Loren Utterback, he's really improving every game. The Griz really stepped it up in the 2nd half. And wutz up with our RedZone D? Man they are tough. One more note....The crowd, I was totally impressed seeing a good 50% of the stadium filled with Griz fans. So many in fact that EWU had to burn 2 time outs in the first period partly due to the noise of the Griz fans.

Cheese and Rice.....
Talk about crappy refereeing, I...I mean we...couldn't believe the flags. 24 in all....nearly one every 2 to 3 plays! It got so bad in the 3rd and 4th quarter that we'd laugh every time a flag was thrown. Jon Talmadge got stripped of a TD, when the ref called him for Offensive PI.

Clearly a no call play and an amazing over the shoulder catch by Jon. Block in the back called on Jefferson was totally bizzare. I thought I was watching the US team play Russia in Russia (circa. 1980's)...and what? what about that safety...it was clearly a safety but they spotted the ball on the 6" line. Wierd Stuff, but in the end the Good Guys won. Griz 24 ISU 22

Weber Grilled by Griz 42 - 21
Mood:  on fire

It was nice to watch the "Conference Play" of the Griz. They gelled a bit more this week, went to Willie only twice ( 1-TD), only went to Jon Talmadge once for 25 yds on a key play, and I guess Jeff Heidelberger was at the LDS meeting. Tate Hancock and LV stepped it up a bit with a combined 10 receptions. There were only 20 pass attempts by the Griz. Wussupwitdat? Yes, I'm scratching my head. I hope to say it all season.... A Win is A Win !

With so much talent, the Griz were able to pretty much man-handle Weber. The Wildcats were in such a funk, that they self destructed on all of their key opportunities. I went outside and felt the wind blowing from Utah when the Wildcats fumbled on the Griz 2 yd line near the end of the 1st half.

What a great game by freshman Mike Stadnyk at DE. I hope to see more of this promising 6'-5" 245, bone crusher. Could he be the ghost of (deep announcer voice) #91 TIM BUSHHH!

Hey, homecoming is next with the Spuds. C-Ya There!

Yes those Colla-Rada Bears left Wash/Griz with an awful taste in their mouths losing 27-16 to the Montana Grizzlies.

The Griz had too many weapons, while the Bears had just one, 8D1. Yes #81 may be going to the NFL one day, but one man cannot win a game for you. It takes a team! And what a team the Griz were that sunny Saturday at Wash/Griz.

While the stats suck and the D sucked, the D was good. Am I not making sense? Well that's not new, but Colla-Rada had the ball 6X in our red zone and came up with only a few points. 2-goal line stands by our D netted only 3 points for the Bears.

While Craig Ochs had a decent first half, my hat is off to Mr. Jeff Disney for answering the call, and coming out and racking up 110 yds in the 4th qtr. And Jeff on a personal note....Thanks for throwing the ball to 6'-4" Jon Talmadge, who was being "covered" all day by a 5'-9" midget. Jon was open on almost all of his routes. On a similar note 6'7" Willie Waldon was only used once as I recollect for about 15 yds. and man did he lower his shoulder and pummel some wimpy 'lil DB. OUCH!

Maybe Bobby and crew are saving these guys for the conference games. I can only hope so.

Well hate to say it....but ok I will. SHSU Bearkats kicked our asses 41 to 29. OW! that smarts.

They played one of thier best games in the school's history and we showed up and played a half assed game. Very little pressure put on the Bkats QB Long. Our DB's seemed to be always running after the Bkats recvrs. Our OL wasn't giving Ochs enough time....and...and...Oh well. As for a loss, if we're gonna have one, it was perfect timing. Our guys will learn from this, especially going through the films for 12 hours on Monday!

Well...well...welll.... Griz 41 - Hofstra Pride 23.
Hofstra...Notstra.... (well it almost rhymes)

The ole Pride got a bit gassed at the end of the 2nd half. Ya, we blew some coverage on a play and ya got 6 but your D looked like they'd play'd 4 quarters after the first half. It was then that I smiled and new the Griz would prevail. Jeff and Levandar had great games! Watch out for Talmadge. If they call his number more he'll be reelin 'em in. Craig had a great game surpassing his previous personal best.

Great Game by all the Griz.

Oh and can we all get off the tailgaters who wish to stay and get drunk rather than get in their seats for the 2nd half kickoff bandwagon. Who gives a shit. They can stay out there and rot, they aren't true Griz Fanz, just socialite wanna bees with no life. I'm sure whatever they are discussing out there at the tailgates is more important than the game itself. LOSERS! MWHaaaa HAW Ha!
