Happy New Year to All!
Mood:  a-ok

What a great way to start the new year. My son and I went skiing at Blacktail Mountain Link on the 2nd. It was pretty dark and gloomy in Polson. At the top of Blacktail it was sunny and no wind, at a balmy 9 degrees. Actually with the sun, it was quite nice. There weren't too many folks there. Many runs we had to ourselves. I think these are times my son and I will never forget.

Mood:  happy
Topic: All Other Stuff
Well...
I'm posting this to see if my blog is indeed back from the "other world" Anglefire got back to me and said that there was some corrupted code and I'd have to delete this blog and start anew. (Bummer) But I was just fooling around in here and found a "Publish" button and wallah! I'm baaaack. (I think). We'll see if this works. If so Happy New Year Everyone!

Models, Tools, and Ideas for Building a Bright Green Future
Mood:  bright
Topic: All Other Stuff
If you need a little hope, a little optimism, a little positive feeling about the world, the human race, and where we are going check out this site.
Here is the Linkage ! WorldChanging.com works from a simple premise: that the tools, models and ideas for building a better future lie all around us. That plenty of people are working on tools for change, but the fields in which they work remain unconnected. That the motive, means and opportunity for profound positive change are already present. That another world is not just possible, it's here. We only need to put the pieces together. I just wish that more and more people continue thinking in this positive direction. Kirk out!

Griz vs. Duke for the all the Marbles....
Mood:  a-ok
As stated below the Griz take on the Dukes in Chatanooga for the NCAA I-AA Championship. Now that's what I like to see, a school who is dumb enough to put themselves on a doormat. Well I think it's very appropriate, as James Madison will be used as a Griz doormat this Friday. The Griz will be wiping the Dookie off their feet after they stomp the crap out of James Madison. With the Cumulutive Team Stats of the Dukes being fairly conservative with an average score of only 27.9 points per game and a total of 390 points vs. the GRIZZ with 36.7 pts per game and a wopping 514 total points, this should be a cake walk. The Griz defense is clicking and the offense is loaded with an array of weapons of mass destruction. The only break the Dukes get is, this game is being played at a neutral site (yeah right! :-) ). Don't tell them that several thousand Griz fans will be in attendance, or they may put their tails between their legs before kickoff. BRING IT ON DOOKIE!

FOLLOW-UP: IMO JMU DID NOT BEAT THE GRIZ. THE GRIZ BEAT THEMSELVES WITH MENTAL MISTAKES. BOTH BY THE PLAYERS AND THE COACHES. 2ND HALF ADJUSTMENTS BY THE GRIZ COACHING STAFF WERE INEFFECTIVE, (INVISIBLE TO ME). WHEN JMU DECIDED TO RUN IT DOWN THE GRIZ THROATS, THE GRIZ NEEDED TO ADJUST TO 8 MEN IN THE BOX RATHER THAN STAYING WITH THE 4 MAN RUSH, ESPECIALLY AGAINST THE JMU FRONT 5 MONSTERS. WHEN OUR RUNNING GAME DIDN'T MATERIALIZE BY THE START OF THE 3RD QUARTER WE SHOULD'VE OPENED UP THE FLARE PASSES, SHORT PASSES TO THE FLATS, ETC. PLAYERS MADE MENTAL MISTAKES BY LETTING THE HORRIBLE FIELD CONDITIONS DISTRACT THEIR PLAY. PERSONAL FOULS AND DROPPED PASSES ALSO WERE MENTAL MISTAKES WHICH AFFECTED THE GAME. BUT HEY! IT WAS A HELL OF A SEASON, THANKS TO THE 2004 MONTANA GRIZZLIES! WHAT A WILD RIDE IT WAS!

U of Montana Grizziles to play for National Championship!

It's been a long road to the top this year and the Griz have made it. The Montana Grizzlies will square of against the James Madison Dukes on December 17, 6 p.m. MST, at Finley Stadium/Davenport Field Chattanooga, Tennessee. After defeating the much touted SHSU fire power of QB Justin Long (Payton Award Candidate) was picked apart by the Griz, 34 to 13. Long's dismal showing and lack of sportsmanship may have put his Payton Award in the most likely hands of the William and Mary QB Lang Campbell (4 INTS), another nominee. Long (16 INTS) and some of his teamates refused to shake hands with the Griz and walked out of the stadium after their loss. For the record there were several SHSU players who stayed on the field to shake hands with the Griz.

Does Everyone Have A 2005 Calendar?
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: All Other Stuff

If not Here's Some Cool Ones Download a calendar on a dodecahedron after your own specifiation. Choose PDF format if you can't print PostScript files. Choose PostScript format if you want to modify the calendar. The PostScript file explains how to mark holidays and birthdays. IF you scroll down, you may also put a calendar on a rhombic dodecahedron.

There...done. It took me about 15 minutes. Make sure you follow the directions putting it together. I used tape vs. glue. I also added some graphics to it in photoshop to personalize it a bit, (another 15 minutes). I'd recommend using a 32lb paper. Regular paper (about 22 lb) works but it's a little flimsy.

It's Time for a Little REVENGE SHSU !
Mood:  special
Topic: Montana Grizzly Posts
Sam Houston State University comes to our house, that's right OUR HOUSE....Wash/Griz stadium. And guess what....the Griz are pissed off to say the least. Grizzlies have uncanny instincts, which includes excellent memories and they remember the day, September 18th when SHSU beat us 29-41, playing an almost perfect game. Well guess what punks, it's our turn, in our house. I hope you enjoy our house, because we keep the thermostat kinda low and the altitude is sky high!! Mwhaaa Ha Ha Ha!

Yes folks, it's revenge time this Saturday at Wash/Griz in Missoula, MT where the little team from Texas will get spanked 41 to 29, live on ESPN!

Send More Body Bags....New Hampshire is Gowin Down!

Well the last of the Northwestern University football (lost 56-7) team has been neatly scraped off of the Grizgrass at Wash/Griz stadium, as we welcome the New Hampshire Wildcats to an ass kicking, Montana style.

While the Wildcats are 8 - 0 on the road, (impressive for any team), they have yet to experience a game in Missoula. The whole game day experience, with the loud crowd, awesome stadium, beautiful setting, Montana hospitality, and the altitude (Mwha ha ha ha!), oh and lest I forget, The Griz!!!!, should have the Wildcats running with their cat tails between their legs back to New Hampshire.

ESPN2 will be broadcasting the game. Portable lights will be set up around the stadium for the later than normal start time of 2pm MST. So if you're going to the game make an ESPN2 sign if you want your mug on TV.

Info on the enemy can be found here...New Hampshire Wildcat Link

The folks at NH are making a bid deal out of the injury sustained by their all world reciever David Ball. He's out with a broken ankle. On the other hand their coach earlier in the week referenced trickery by both teams this season. While I feel for this Ball fellow if indeed he's out, I wouldn't put it past NH for this to be disinformation spin-o-rama, and Mr. Ball comes out of the tunnel this Saturday dressed and ready to rock. But that's me and my paranoia talkin. :) ROCK ON GRIZ !!!!

When the I-AA selection committee unveiled its playoff bracket Sunday, the Southland Conference champion Demons (8-3) drew a first-round matchup with the Big Sky Conference champion Grizzlies (9-2) in Missoula, where Northwestern's last two playoff appearances ended with losses in 2001 (28-19) and 2002 (45-14).

Might as well make it 3 losses in a row Demons. Bring yer longjohns if ya got any, cuz it's gonna be cold on the sidelines, watchin us score.

It's almost time for the 104th Brawl of the Wild !
Mood:  happy
The Montana State Bobcats come to Missoula, Montana to take on the University of Montana Grizzlies at Washington/Grizzly Stadium. This will be the game of the week on a national level and of course the game of the year for the Big Sky Conference. I can't wait for this. While the Griz have won 17 in a row, the last two have been won by the bobcats. The Griz are really coming together at the right time. I suspect they'll have the cats couging up fur balls by the end of the first half.

Northern Lights!
Did anyone see the northern lights Sunday night/early Monday morning? What a display here in Polson. They took up most of the sky from due east to due west and almost directly overhead. There were beams of light, light waves, and pusling light that constantly changed. From what I understand the show started around 9pm, we were up at 3:30am watching them, (dog had to go out). Here's a link on just this subject....Northern Light Info They did appear again last night, but not quite as intense, and then the fog rolled in.
