<BGSOUND SRC="https://www.angelfire.com/blog/macsian/dontforgettoremember.mid" LOOP=INFINITE> While in Malacca for the Chinese New Year 2005, I decided to visit our alma mater. My last visit must have been at least more than 25 years ago! The school was closed for the holidays but I felt that it was just a perfect time to visit. I would have the whole school to myself to reminisce and should I become ridiculously nostalgic, smiling to myself, nosing around, nobody would bother! Turning in from Tranquerah, the long road leading to the school was quite the same as in the past except that the Wesley Church has expanded to both sides of the road and renovations were going-on. The ice-kacang ball and mee goreng chilli stall at the junction was still there but only in my mind!

ACS Primary School
ACS Primary School

Time seems to have stood still more for the primary school. Except for a new coat of paint, virtually everything remained as it was. I could still see Mr Chua Cheng Chye's Austin A30 (similar to pix) parked outside the school office. I remember standing under the very same tree waiting for my father to come fetch us after school. In primary school I was rather introveted and seldom went to the tuckshop. I'd bring home the 20 cents I got every day although later I would spend 5 cents for a vadai with f.o.c. green chilli from the kacang putih man. My classroom buddies then were Ng Joo How and Sri Daran.
