While in Malacca for the Chinese New Year 2005, I decided to visit our alma mater. My last visit must have been at least more than 25 years ago! The school was closed for the holidays but I felt that it was just a perfect time to visit. I would have the whole school to myself to reminisce and should I become ridiculously nostalgic, smiling to myself, nosing around, nobody would bother! Turning in from Tranquerah, the long road leading to the school was quite the same as in the past except that the Wesley Church has expanded to both sides of the road and renovations were going-on. The ice-kacang ball and mee goreng chilli stall at the junction was still there but only in my mind!

School Field
A view of the school field with the new two-storey Std 6 block in the background. This block was the scene of the 007-styled flying bowler hat (pix: Oddjob in Goldfinger)
episodes and pebble- throwing* incidents that subsequently led to classroom court sessions presided by our then budding lawyer teacher Mr Yap Cheng Boon who later became a magistrate. *Being our first time in a new upstairs classroom block, we soon found a way to play "war games" repelling the attackers below. Gan Boon Khuay the victim of a stray pebble in his eye, left for MHS after this.
