North Shore Key Club Recognized at 59th Annual Convention
The North Shore Key Club traveled to Monticello, NY, the site of the 58th annual Key Club Convention. The Key Club is sponsored by the North Shore Kiwanis Club of Long Island.
Many prestigious awards were presented this year at the annual convention where 253 clubs are eligible to participate each year. North Shore is proud to announce that the Key Club was named a Distinguished Club for 2006-07. Only 4 clubs were named for this recognition in NY State. Michael M. D’Auria was presented with a plaque for the Distinguished President’s Award and Katie Arctander won the Key Club Governor’s Scholarship. Other awards were presented to the following North Shore members including: the Distinguished Member Award to Sophomore Justyne Passarelli and Junior Kristine Reynolds, the Webmaster Award to Kristina Chen and the Public Relations Award to Catie DeStio.
Recognition at the convention was also given to the following officers for outstanding service: Vice President Nicole Papasergiou, Secretary Chandni Singh, Treasurer Ashley Kim and Editor Meaghan Murray. Additionally, Distinguished Key Clubbers included: Ashley Kim, Chandni Singh, Meaghan Murray, Kaity Arctander, Nicole Papasergiou, Kaela McGilloway, Kristen Reynolds, Justyne Passarelli and Kristina Chen.
“I have been attending conventions for the Key Club as their advisor for 18 years and each and every year I return so proud of our accomplishments,” said Julia Salat. “The North Shore Key Club works hard to make a difference in our community and looks forward to the upcoming year with more projects and programs to benefit people in need.”
