So far so good...
Mood:  a-ok
Into the second week, and things are OK so far. I managed to catch up during the week on the assignments etc. I suppose the one that most interested me was my thoughts on instructional design. That's like asking 'who are you?' For years I've been fighting to be called an instructional designer at work, rather than a writer, so it was strange to go 'what does that actually mean?'

For me, I suppose I like to consider myself an educationalist first, and a writer and technologist, second and third. The thing about ID is that all the theorists are so sure they are right - eventhough there's a great difference between. You just have to look at the Univsersity of Denver ID site to see what I mean.

The other thing is that ID is now associated with instructional technology a lot. Although, ID solutions need not use IT at all.

When I look around at my collegues, I see people from various backgrounds. Some appreciate ID/education, some do not. Yet we're all classed as IDs. It would be interesting to see what ID means to them ...if anything at all.
