From March 2003 I began making music videos.
They are mostly based on video games with some exceptions, a few are made from movies and anime.
I own no rights to any of the material used in these videos, they are a fan made hobby from which I profit in no way whatsoever.

Anyone is free to embed or host these videos wherever they want, just please make sure you credit them correctly.
Most of my videos are Windows Media Video (WMV) files, so make sure you can play them before downloading.
They can be previewed or downloaded through the following sites...

	YouTube streams live videos. There is some quality loss but I recommend it for its good audio sync.
	Google Video streams live videos. The quality is higher than YouTube, but some files loose their audio sync.
	Fileplanet hosts gaming files/videos. The download speeds are pretty fast, but it requires free registration. The videos are zipped so make sure you can extract them.
	MegaUpload hosts any files/videos. The download speeds aren't as fast as FilePlanet, but registration is only optional. If a file is 'unavailable' keep refreshing until it is.

	Phantasy Star Online Evanescence Bring me to Life Episodes 1 & 2		File size: 19.7mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 4:03 Created: March 03	This was my first ever music video made. For the very first version of this I used the dumbest method in existance. I basically took several clips of footage online and offline with my allready shitty CamStudio and literally just stuck them together one after the other using a program called EZ Joiner. That was it, there was no editing or timeing involved what so ever. Then I couldn't find a program to attach the audio. (Yes I was a super rookie back then) I finally found that Windows Movie Maker could do it. So I just glued Evanescence onto the allready compressed video file and... Hey Presto! ...the worst quality video ever made! :D Surprisingly the timing wasn't too bad after my unbridled randomness. I had allready planned certain parts of the structure in my head a long time before hand. When I fired up PSO on my old TV Card for the first time I found that it only supports 50htz... Bugger. As many Europian PSOers know without the support of the faster 60htz mode, we are limited to one ship... the Europe ship. Shame as I wanted to include my PSO buddies in this video. I did however find Bassjage Man from www.psolife.com You can see him in a few of the clips, he's the big white HUcast (Android) fighting next to me.
	Timesplitters 2 Rammstein Feuer Frei		File size: 15.6mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 3:15 Created: April 03 Remade: August 9th 03	This is the second version of the second video I ever made, it was a total re-make. The first had an extremely low frame rate, and watching it was about as painful as having an old person talk to you. When I got the new capture card this was one of the first videos to put it to the test. The re-make uses exactly the same structure as the original, just with changed fight scenes. TS2 has some great FMV clips too, so I couldn't resist using them in it.
	Super Smash Bros Melee Rancid Maxwell Murder		File size: 39mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 1:33 Created: April 03 Remade: October 28th 06	I stumbled across Maxwell Murder when I downloaded an AMV of beloved Cowboy Bebop made by Hsien Lee. It was an awesome video, but I really loved that song. So I downloaded the MP3 for it and listened again and again. At about this time I was looking for a track to go with my upcoming Smash Bros Melee video. The two seemed like a perfect fit. This updated version of the video includes mostly different footage and editing. It's now so fast you can barely keep up with what's going on, which may be a bad thing but whatever lol.
	Burnout H-Blockx The Power		File size: 24.5mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 3:32 Created: April 03	I only bought Burnout for Gamecube when I saw it quite cheap in my local GameStation. I never realised how good it actually was despite my early judgements. Natrually when the time came I decided to make video from it. This was the first time I realised how easy and fun it is to make racing game VGMVs. You see while playing most games, you only have once chance to get the right shot for the video because you're playing while recording. However with racing titles you can watch it again and again with the magic of replay mode! and of course they do all the great camera angles for you, so all you have to do is make the action then sit back and record. This is probably the most half arsed thing anyone could ever do in the history of anything. This just takes the pressure off when actually playing, and it looks better, and it's a lot more fun. 'The Power' by H-Bloxx came naturally to me, as it would do to anyone who has seen the original video for it. The match was almost flawless, it only suffers now from the nut-squashing picture quality.
	Double Dragon III Rage Against the Machine Know Your Enemy		File size: 22.1mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 4:47 Created: April 03	My favourite 3 NES games back in the day were Double Dragon 3, Rad Racer and Duck Hunt. Anyway Double Dragon 3 deserved a video for it's un-charted wickedness, and still even to this day I don't regret making it. It lacks in the way of timeing (In other words there isn't any) but it fits together quite nicely with Rage Against the Machines offensive music style, and is still quite entertaining to watch. The most outstanding difference in this video is the size of the clips used. I think it was mistake now but I can see how I wanted to have nice long fight scenes in it. After all it originates back to the days when martial arts were all the rage. Another one that missed the big switch over to WMV, the video is still in its original AVI format. I seem to remember hearing about a Double Dragon movie? It would be fun to throw that into the mix and produce something beyond tacky.
	Rad Racer Steppenwolf Born to be Wild		File size: 14.9mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 3:28 Created: April 03	Originally this video was the second oldest. See I used the same methods as the first version of the PSO video. However it never got released untill I found the ways of Adobe Premiere and remembered that I was gonna make it. You can see its age in the supreme lack of editing. I made the AVI version but didn't re-make it when it came to the big WMV switch. Steppenwolf was an obvious choice as old bollocks somehow goes with old bollocks. The quality isn't that different than the actual game (crap) so I can get away with making a pigs ear of the whole thing. By the way, Rad Racer was one of my favourite NES games and it kicked ARRRRRRSE!
	Spawn/Spider Man Iced Earth Stormrider		File size: 24mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 4:58 Created: May 03	The idea of this video and it's song came from my dear friend David. He's a big fan of Spiderman and Spawn and Iced Earth you see. So he challenged me to make a video on it all. Basically it was the first music video I had made on a TV program. I allready had some episodes of Spawn taped on VHS and so I also recorded numerous episodes of Spiderman from Fox Kids. The rest then just wrote itself, so to speak. I just had to make sure I didn't over do it on either character, and see how it came out. And it came out amazing! Strange though because I must have had a cat piss in my eyes or something because the quality as I realised quite a while later... was horrible. Well maybe that was exaggerating just a little, it's not that bad, just quite a slow framerate. If you try to look past the slowness you'll see that it's actually pretty damn good. It was timed well, and underwent a second editing at the big WMV switch. So all in all it's very well structured, just a shame about the bad video quality.
	The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Tenacious D Wonderboy		File size: 20.2mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 4:13 Created: May 03 Remade: June 20th 04	This one has proven to be one of the more popular videos of mine. I think the key to its success has to be the match up between the song and video. I was thinking on this one for a while, "It must be something for an epic quest, but not too epic, like it's only a kiddie quest, which it is." I suddenly remember Wonderboy, and it was perfect. I could allready imagine the whole thing. After watching the original version of this video for the last time I decided I just HAD to remake it, it was just too good to leave in a bed of crapness. Of course as well as the greatly improved picture quality, it was also treated to some structural 'tweakings' Only drawback with these kinds of videos (Adventure games) is that you have to play the whole way through to get the footage you need. With this one I had just nearing the end of the game with the first version of the video so I had the perfect opportunity to get the right stuff. This meant that remakeing it would be a absolute pain in the arse, and it was. Still worth the trouble though by a long shot.
	Turok Evolution Metallica Of Wolf and Man		File size: 21.1mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 4:21 Created: May 03 Remade: November 5th 03	I don't get why people overlook this game, I thought it was the best Turok title in the series (single player wise) It definately makes a better music video than Timesplitters. This was another one that got remade after I got my new TV capture card, and is a prime example of how a video was meant to look from the start. The original for this was yet again mankier than a hobos crotch.I originally wanted this to be very evil and bloody. In the original version you could see red but that could have been that the KitKat people were trying to mug you or the Chinese are invading. Of course on the second attempt I got the chance to correct this problem as well as adding extra levels, including the end level and boss and more interesting deaths to the slegs and dinos. One of which was my amazing leaping axe blow to the head from behind, which you see near the start. Of Wolf and Man fits because it has that constant triple chord that gives the whole thing a hunt feel to it. Watch and prepare for some serious gore.
	Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 Alley Life Out with the Old		File size: 18.8mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 4:13 Created: May 03 Remade: November 7th 03	I've been a fan of the Tony Hawks series since THPS2. It had one song on the sound track that was so awesome I just had to do something with it. This was another re-make from a version 1 video that with the old style quality looked like a lamb going through a wood chipper. It was so blocky you could have sworn you were playing Tetris. The other improvement on the last version was that I used nearly all of the main characters in this one, including the unlocked secret ones. I also timed this one to the track better, and added some crappy antics by some of the skaters that should give you a giggle.
	Burnout 2 Point of Impact HT Tsuneo Imahori		File size: 7.7mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 1:43 Created: May 03	This was the first of my three, yes! THREE! Burnout 2 videos. It was originally meant to be just this one as I had allready made 4 minute-ish Burnout video. I chose the opening to Trigun because it reminded me of racing for some reason. At this time I hadn't actually seen the intro for Trigun so I had nothing to associate it with in my mind. By the time I had made the video I only just realised how much spare footage I had. The video was only about 1 minute 30, and Burnout 2 with it's amazing crashes kept me recording. Eventually when I made the much bigger second video I needed a reason for making this one, thus I dubbed it the trailer of the complete video. It does after all have the same footage as the full version.
	Burnout 2 Point of Impact The Prodigy Smack my Bitch up		File size: 28.4mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 5:44 Created: May 03	The full version of the previous video/trailer. After extensive thought, I chose The Prodigy for this one. The Techno theme kind of matches the street racing feel. And if you're going to go Techno, then at least get the only decent Techno there is. After I thought of a basic structure, I chose 'Smack my Bitch up' Everything else just seemed to slot into place. The timing on this is was already pretty decent at the WMV switch, so it didn't need to be re-edited. The only reason I created the Soil video was because of the new capture method I had aquired. Also I didn't have any of the custom cars during the recording of this one or its 'trailer'.
	Season 1 Compilation The Prodigy Serial Thrilla		File size: 37.4mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 5:38 Created: May 03	I'm not even sure what my purpose for doing this was. I think it was to round up all my videos to demonstrate to new comers what kind of stuff I did. Only thing was that the file size was, for its time too big. That was enough to put people off back in the days before YouTube. I used Prodigys 'Serial Thrilla' for this simply because it's totally awesome. Unfortunatly it doesn't suit most of the footage, so the majority of it looks like a pile of sheeps testis thrown into a washing machine. The only parts I really like are the start and end extended video signatures. I'm actually quite surprised this got onto FilePlanet. It missed the big switch unfortunatly because I had deleted most the footage from the older videos to free up some space on my hard drive. So basically I was missing over half of the clips when I came to re-make it.
	Jean Claude Van Damme Tribute Iced Earth Melancholy		File size: 24mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 4:53 Created: June 03 Remade: Feb 6th 04	Jean Claude Van Damme is one of the coolest movie heros ever for one reason... the super kicks. It may look like he does the same thing for every guy he fights, who gives a shit :). With this one I had to give a kind of hero theme to the video via way of audio. Of course it had to have plenty of rock in it. So the most likely match would be Iced Earth. After all Claude isn't one to be all in your face with an attitude, he just lets his foot do that for him :). I still watched the original version for a long time, being my first AMMV it was quite good, With one draw back... yup the quality again. I wanted to fix that and bring this work of art up to speed. If it seems like 'Hard Target' is taking over most of the video (The one where he has a mullet) that's because it is. It's an earlier John Woo film and is one of me favourite Van Dammes alongside 'Kickboxer'. I've seen this so many times now it's starting to look a tad cheesy, but hey, you might like it. 	Steven Segal Tribute Kid Rock American Bad Ass	PLANNING REMAKE	File size: 21.4mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 4:27 Created: June 03	The second of my AMMV series (Action Movie Music Video) American Bad Ass or the re-made 'Sad but True' originally by Metallica was something I wanted to use with these new line of action hero videos. Jean Claude didn't really fit to it, so the ideal choice had to be Steven Seagal, the true American bad ass. Most of the video is just him kicking peoples arses, with which I have no complaints. I also used quite a few explosions in this one to spice it up even more. Other than the old style quality it actually turned out better than I thought. I still can't decide which is a better video, this or Van Dammed. I had to edit the song a bit, like at a sudden silence when Kid Rock just says "Fuck all of Y'all" I mean what the hell am I supposed to put there!? Plus the fact that it ruins the song completly. The other bit that had the exact same effect was when he says "Yeah, I've seen your band. Jumpin' around on stage like bunch of wounded ducks" This also had no music behind it and was totally pointless. Hats off to Kid Rock for being a cunt on that one. Should have just left it to Metallica really. The only reason i chose Kid Rocks version is that it has more structure to it than Sad but True. Sad but True is a great track, but it kind of gets samey after a bit. Movies used: Under Siege, Marked for Death, On Deadly Ground, Glimmer Man
	Tom Cruise/Vin Diesel Tribute Limp Bizkit Livin' it up		File size: 21.8mb Resolution: 348x348 Length: 4:32 Created: June 03	For the third AMMV I decided to slice the video between two stars. As the limited video collection dictates, Cruise and Diesel were paired up. I know, not the most obvious matching. The two of them do however have a similar movie style... well ok they don't but I made it seem that way. You see M:I-2 and xXx are two of my favourite films for the soul reason that they are awsome. They may appear to dominate the video slightly. It's all down to my hunger for fast cars, fast bikes and explosions. Now I know that a lot of you probabaly don't like Limp Bizkit. I know Fred Durst can seem kinda arrogant at times, but I still think their music rocks. 'Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water' is still one of my most favourite albums. This track however was the biggest challenge, Limp Bizkit have a unique skill where they can switch their style of music between the chorus and verses. As cool as this is, it makes hell for making music videos. By the way, using Limp Bizkits 'Take a Look Around' (the M:I-2 theme) would have been the gayest thing ever. I'm not usually one to fold to the attraction of using music allready associated with the video source . It's not bad though, still worth a look if you like LOADS of really cool explosions and car crashes. As well as the movies listed below, I also had a 3 second clip from the movie 'Pitch Black' where Vin Diesel carries those giant metal thingys on his shoulders. See if you can spot it. 	The Matrix Fused Mad Capsule Markets Tribe Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions Animatrix, Enter the Matrix	PLANNING REMAKE	File size: 18.8mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 3:58 Created: June 03	Here comes one of the cheapest videos I ever made. This thing was made completely from trailers, apart from the short clips of 'A Detective Story' which might I add was directed by the all mighty Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy bebop) The song to video pairing on this was a good choice once again. Mad Capsule Markets put 'Tribe' on Kerrang! and I instantly fell in love with it. The techno/rock fuses with every aspect of The Matrix and the high paced trailers keep it interesting the whole way though. In fact you probably can't tell where the clips switch back and forth, so you'll just think I'm some crazy old codger who glued music to one big incredible trailer. Even 'Enter the Matrix' was a trailer. All in all pretty sleasy on my behalf, however if you like The Matrix - period then you should love this.
	Sonic Tribute Crush 40 Open Your Heart Various Sonic Games/ Sonic OVA Anime		File size: 21.6mb Resolution: 200x200 Length: 4:29 Created: July 03	I've dubbed this one 'the nightmare video' simply for the reason that making it was a total nightmare. I won't bore you, so I'll try to put it in a nut shell. Basically it's composed of three different types of video. Sonic Adventure 2 trailers and gameplay videos. The Sonic OVA Anime/Movie, and then... there was the birth of a hideous malformed freak, the worst type of footage in exsistance... EMULATOR FOOTAGE!!! ARGHH!!! I used Cam studio to get this, and let me tell you it was evil! Once I put the clips into Premiere I had to personally chop and change every one of them because the frame rate was so gut-wrenchingly bad. Finally when I had got everything together, I realised that I had another problem... the resolution. I either stretched the emulator footage to what would look like moving roadkill, or else I quashed the trailers into that of a mouldy prune covered in ants. After about 15 attempts (seriously) I went with the ants. 15 doesn't sound like much, but considering this was with my old computer with crappy RAM it took about 4 hours to create the file each time. I re-edited it several times and now have this, the 'I can't be arsed to fix this crock of shit anymore' version. The main reason I did this video was because of the song. Open Your Heart is the theme song to Sonic Adventure 1. It is bloody great, and I wanted to use it for a video even though about 100 people have allready done the same thing. I wanted to use Sonic-X in this (if I could steer round the subtitles) It would have been extra cool, but the sub artist encoded it to play on Div-X only. Seems like the file ripper didn't want us to get our dirty little mitts on it. The actual video is pretty cool, especially if you like Sonic. Just rub lard into your eyes before you watch it and get a magnifying glass so you can see the 200x200 res.
	Streets of Rage Rage Against the Machine Street Fighting Man Streets of Rage 1&2		File size: 20.2mb Resolution: 200x200 Length: 3:51 Created: July 03	You'd think I'd have learnt my lesson from the last emulated video but nOOooo. Introducing, the worst video I ever made! This one even goes one step further and still has the GENS emulator menu bar left on it. You can see (if you dare to watch) that i had the right idea. Rage Against the Machine seems to match the scrolling beat 'em up genre very well. No I didn't just choose the track and artist because of the name, although it is a very funny coincidence. To some things up rather quickly, I just tried to use each character as much as I could across as many levels as I could. Choppy frame rate aside, it does have some good timeing, fluked however. I'll just say this, the day will come when I will create a decent scrolling beat em up music video. And on that note, I hope the day will come when somebody will create a decent scrolling beat em up game for these new aged consoles. As far as this video goes, lesson learnt - NEVER use emulators to get video footage.

SEASON 2: AUGUST 2003 - DECEMBER 2004

	Akira, Spriggan, Ghost in the Shell Exit 10 Deep Rooted		File size: 20mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 4:03 Created: August 4th 03	This was a request video by a friends band: Exit Ten. It was also the first video to test out my new capture card. You can't imagine how excited I was after finishing this video. Technically this was my first AMV and thus a breakthrough in the history of me. I borrowed Akira on VHS from James (the bassist) which by the way I loved. I had also recently taped Ghost in the Shell and the amazing Spriggan. Yeah I know taping the source is not the way of AMV artists, but sod that cos I make VGMVs! I know you can probably all see the lines at the bottom from the video, but after a while you don't really notice them. I think this was one of the best editing jobs I've ever done in a video and I still love it to this day. The vocalist has changed since I made this by the way, I used an old song from a 4 track demo.
	PSO 4 Life Metallica I Disappear Phantasy Star Online 1/2/3		File size: 24.3mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 5:00 Created: August 8th 03	Another request-esk video. I devoted it to my dear comrades at urban-gamer.com and to their characters. (Which is why I'm not in it) A totally selfless video I can safely say and a graphically improved PSO video. One major factor that the first PSO video had that this one doesn't is the range of levels. Well actually that one only had Mines, Forest and Caves. If I really worked hard and leveled up characters I could probably make a video to compliment the large array of levels and weapons in the game. However it would only be one character then I'm back to the problem of no one wants to see my midget of an Android pounding the living crap out of Dark Faltz. So all other aspects aside, this video concentrates on the character variations in game. Took quite a while to make this one with all the character info I needed. Some might say that it wasn't worth it for the limited audience, but I say "rarghhh bastards" in a drunken voice. The carefully 'sectioned' structure limited what songs I could use too, so I put It to the vote at PSOlife and Metallica won. With the impending arrival of PSO Episode 3, I had to resort to trailer-nabbing once again. I didn't use them much, and i definatly didn't use actual gameplay footage... it's a card game for christ sakes, what kind of video would that have made!?
	Super Smash Bros Melee Foo Fighters Breakout		File size: 17.4mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 3:38 Created: August 27th 03	First of all I have to admit that this video had a LOT of influence from 'Got Melee?' by Julius Bautista. The main part being the camera mode. After I saw the video and read the description from Six Sided Video I hit my head and was like "why didn't I think of that!?" so off I set with my idea thieving ways. Biggest differences are, allthough mine is still pretty good quality for its size, Julius' has nearly picture perfect resolution. Another factor is that his includes game sounds, where as mine does not. Much like the SSV vid, I let the fighters perform some crazy stunts on each other and with each other, as you can see in the picture on the far left. Another big difference in the two is that mine features more four player fight scenes to show what the game is really like. I would have just re-made the original Smash Bros video if it wasn't for the unfortunate length of it. I wanted something longer this time around with a lighter funner mood. So I chose Foo Fighters, and Breakout being one of my fave Foo tracks was secured a place as the winner. As far as the start signature goes, it's just something I nabbed from the PSO Ep 3 trailer and thought it looked cool.
	Burnout 2: Point of Impact Soil Halo		File size: 16.3mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 3:27 Created: September 4th 03	Ok I swear this is the very last Burnout 2 video I will make. It is the third, yes THIRD one I've made. I guess that just shows how much I like the game. If you've by chance seen the first two B2 videos, let me just tell you what's changed. First off, the cars from the custom series are in this one. Second, it is much clearer than the first two. Third it is much faster than the first two. I still feel like the others have something that this doesn't, maybe it's the diference in crashes. I wouldn't consider this as being the other Burnout 2 videos upgraded brother. It's more of an alternate video in that it uses a more agressive rock orientated approach. The Prodigy video was more strecthed out and layed back in timed techno perfection. In other words I often wonder if the previous vid had been re-made would it be better thn this one? As far as picture quality goes however, this one wins hands down.
	Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Metallica Creeping Death		File size: 30mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 6:11 Created: September 30th 03	This video is one of my personal favourites. Right from the start I knew it wasn't going to be a push-over. I wanted to have as much content as I could for it. The actual game was borrowed from my friend Tom for PS2. To show of the games spectacularness I wanted to have as much of the cool parts of the game as I could, meaning the tank, the helicopter and police boats all had to be used to show off the games freedom factor. I used the player skin cheat to use all different types of characters in it. Metallica again!? I hear you saying. Well yes I wanted something that sounded like it was from the 80s, that was also quite long to fit everything in. I chose Creeping Death because it matches all criteria perfectly. I did cut some parts out of the song near the end where it seems to never stop, for the plain reason that it would be too repetative. I used very few cut scenes in it too. The only ones being at the start and a few small snippets thoughout. The timing on this was looked over carefully also for maximum 'shweet' factor. If I had to name a problem with this is, it would be that I didn't include the Hunter gunship. At 6 minutes 11 it's the longest video I've made do date, despite that the action never stops. Remember this is based on GTA Vice City, so prepare yourself for a bloodbath.
	F-Zero GX Iron Maiden Wildest Dreams		File size: 19mb Resolution: 320x240 Length: 3:57 Created: December 7th 03	One of the easiest videos I've ever made. Why? because of the replay mode that allows you to switch between the racers. That's right, all I had to do was race on every track that i could with one machine then used the 'select camera' to switch vehicle. I know it sounds really cheap and it is, but as with all racing titles the replay mode makes this game look even better than it actually is. Obviously my main goal here was to try and include every driver and track that I could., and I think I just about did it. The pairing of music to video was the iceing on shit so to speak. The actual video for 'Wildest Dreams' did give me inspiration on this one admittedly. The song really does make you feel free and have an 'open road' feel to it. ...ok I'm making this up I just copided the idea ¬_¬ but I still think mine is better :P. On a small note, the resolution has changed to 320x240 on this one because the codec can't handle the games graphics (or something on those lines) In other words, with a game as fast and as advanced as this I had to squash the pixels together so it doesn't look like a bowl of Wheatabix.
	Mario Kart: Double Dash Sum 41 Summer		File size: 13.3mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 2:46 Created: December 03	Oh yes this game just had to have a video with happy happy music, so I chose Sum 41. Something that's not repetative and not too long, that's 'Summer' all summed up :). Again I used the policy of trying to include as much content as I could. So I got every character, every track, and nearly every car. In the way of FMVs this game has none, but what it does have is a rather nifty intro/demo vid, which by the way I stole and used. Yeah I should be shot at dawn, but it's not that bad. I sped it up to cover the rather increased guitar chord frequency about three fiths into the song. It lasts for about 25 seconds, and it's not like a downloaded it. A nice feature I also added to this vid was online play against my good friend Smugmunky via Warp Pipe, which was still in a very sluggish beta at the time so I had to speed it up to about x600 It still seemed to work out ok and provide that much needed battle footage without a split screen. I would have liked to have a nice 4 player rumble but it wasn't supported. By the way, I hope you all noticed my great bananna throwing skills in the pipe land battle arena when I nail him with one from the lower level. Apart from that he pretty much kicked my arse, heheh. This video is quite fast paced, which does the game a lot of justice.
	Quake III Arena Spineshank New Disease		File size: 15.9mb Resolution: 320x240 Length: 3:20 Created: January 23rd 04	This and Jet Set Radio are two games that I have wanted to make videos on for ages. I finally decided to order a couple of cheap copies of the games from Amazon and got my Dreamcast out of the cupboard giving it a good dusting. This video was actually quite hard to make for the soul reason that I hadn't played the game in ages and was rather crap at it. The body view shots especially were a complete nightmare as you have no crosshair to aim with. I used spectator mode to capture some action from a distance between CPU characters, even though it was really hard to keep up with them. I think the video delivers a decent slaughter house with mutants and freaks as you would expect. Good to know as I don't want to have to do anything like this ever again. The making of this one was spanned over quite a few days because of it's lack of encouragement appeal for me. I'm still glad I could make something to tribute to the speed and fun of Quake 3 being one of my favourite Dreamcast games. Before you ask, no this video doesn't include any online footage. It wouldn't really make a difference apart from that people wouldn't understand and just kill me over and over while I'm trying to take shots. Also, I have removed all kinds of meters and guages from the screen while fighting to give the best view. The start droneing sound comes from Papa Roachs 'Infest' that I speeded up for a slight into to the song. Spineshank had allways been on my mind when I was thinking of this video, but the start of it just goes straight into loudness which isn't really my style. Still worth a look if you like Quake 3 or high speed deathmatch bloodiness.
	Jet Set Radio Rage Against the Machine Renegades of Funk		File size: 22.6mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 4:44 Created: February 23rd 04	One of my favourite Dreamcast games. This has so much style, it demands to have a video. The only problem was, what music could live up to such snazziness. The audio was the hardest part of this one, I couldn't decide on what to use. I nearly ended up using something from the games soundtrack, but I always feel that's the quick way out with VGMVs. For a long time I was thinking of using 'Express Yourself" the remix by NWA (The original kind of lacks a strong beat) After listening to it a few times I decided that rap music doesn't make good videos - period, so back to square one. I had just recently realised that I hadn't listened to any of my Rage Against the Machine CDs in a while, so I gave them a spin. I got to the album 'Renegades' and played Renegades of Funk, yet another match made in heaven. Being the first video that used RATM without fighting was kind of interesting. Of course Rage do have many levels to their music, and funk is one of them. I divided up the music and planned to give equal character exposure and level exposure. The Dreamcast games seem to have lost quite a bit of video quality when compressed. Prehaps it's the same story of fast action = fuzziness and cel shading = blockiness. However, if you like the Jet Set (NOT JET GRIND, the crappy name) series, then this should be right up your alley. If you like to get funky, as I do, then you should also like this. It makes a change from my usual style.
	Hellsing Dimestore Hoods Blood in my Eyes		File size: 18.3mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 3:50 Created: March 22nd 04	My first real AMV (Anime Music Video) The Exit 10 Video was more of a favour so it wasn't completley under my control. I've had 'Blood in my Eyes' for ages now and loved it from the moment I heard it. I really wanted to do something with it. My first thought was to use it with Anime, and the first that sprung to mind was Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X for some reason. Well anyway I decided that it wouldn't work due to Kenshins non-killing ways (OVA aside), it just wouldn't look bad ass enough. My next idea was Soul Calibur 2, which I'm sure would have made a lot of people happy. However I didn't get, and still don't plan on getting the game. Then a long time later (yes it has taken a very long time) I bought the Hellsing series on DVD. It has eveything I could want from Anime, lots of style, lots of blood and lots of cool music, so I decided to make my AMV debut with it. There's still mystery surrounding the artist of this song, people have said it's Godsmack, others say it's part Limp Bizkit, some say Third Strike. One day I'll find out who it is for definate and credit them accordingly.
	Mad Max Tribute Motorhead Ace of Spades Mad Max 1,2,3		File size: 13.5mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 2:50 Created: May 17th 04	I bought the Mad Max trilogy on DVD after deciding that I just couldn't stay away from these films. After I got them and watched them for the first time it reminded me why I liked them so much. It's got all my favourite ingredients, fast cars, fast bikes, Mel Gibson, an apocalypse and a big wasteland/desert. However I'm not too fond of the third movie: Beyond Thunderdome for three reasons. 1) It's a 15 not an 18, 2) It has kids in, and 3) The only car scene is at the very end and isn't that good. Still I included this part in the video as well as a small clip on inside the Thunderdome with Max wielding a chainsaw. The main focus is on the first two films though since they are the better ones in my opinion. Motorhead was always in my mind when thinking about this along with other tracks such as 'Bad Habit' by the Offspring or 'Whiplash' by... Metallica. (British Sitcom Music Video) ...no thanks I've given up with all these bloody acronyms. Bottom in case you don't know is a British sitcom based in Hammersmith, London. 'tis my favourite British sitcom, just ahead of Red Dwarf. So what would make something like this music video material?? ...the fights. There are a lot of funny fights in this program so I thought it would make for good music to video matching. mclusky are a band I've been listening to recently, they're totally crazy so I used 'em, and that was all there was to it. What can I say except it's fast paced much like Highway Thunder, but on more of a comedy background obviously.
	Star Fox 64 (Lylatwars) Guns and Roses You Could be Mine Lylatwars (Starfox 64)		File size: 26.2mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 5:29 Created: July 18th 04	The first of my N64 videos and it actually came out better than I thought. For 'tis also my first combat flight sim music video and I was stuck for music choice. I didn't know if 'You could be mine' (from Terminator 2 soundtrack) would work, and if it didn't I had no back up song so the video would probably be scrapped. Luckily Mr Axel 'annoying bastard' Rose and the boys pulled through, and the video has been granted the light of day. This was another one day job, the kind that knackers your arse out from sitting for so long. Also Star Fox 64 is a pretty simple game to play through, not saying it's too easy I'm just too good for it. :)
	The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time Creed Bullets The Twilight Princess SpaceWorld 2000 Demo		File size: 18.8mb Resolution: 320x240 Length: 3:59 Created: July 27th 04	This was the first video that didn't use my TV cards capture function. It was played out and recorded on Dscaler in 320x240 resolution. I had an Ocarina of Time video on my mind for a long long time, the bonus disk given with The Wind Waker had the game and The Master Quest on digitally enhanced. However the disk only supported a 60htz mode which my TV card couldn't handle. Then along came Dscaler and saved the day! It saved me having to buy another copy of the game for the N64 just to make this video and have to play it through again. Considering how long this game lasts it would have been doomsday before I finished it. Thanks to the magic of scart leads tho, it was completed in just 3 days. Now even 3 days is usually a long time for me to make a video, but this one had to be special. With that I created the file 14 times and checked each version to tweak it to its limit. The video also contains the E3 2004 Zelda trailer and the long forgotten Space World 2000 demo. The music came to me whilst looking through some of my old MP3s, the start of the vid with the E3 trailer was what got me started on the whole thing pretty much. As is mandatory with all adventure game MVs, most of the time is taken up with those cut scenes that they poor so much effort into. On one last note, you may notice that there are only a few scenes with kid link. The reason being quite obvious... kids cannot kick this much arse!
	Blast Corps Offspring Hit That		File size: 14.6mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 2:58 Created: August 10th 04	Unlike most of my recent videos, I already knew most of what to put in the Blast Corps one. When I sat down and started listing for possible songs to go with my new line of N64 vids, I thought of 'Hit That' for Blast Corps straight away. I'm still not sure why this became the third in the series tho, must be predicted patience requirements since this took the longest to actually form. (I say 'form' because the previous Zelda video took so many re-trys it ended up spanning twice as many days) Also unlike most other videos, I actually enjoyed getting the footage for this one, reason being Blast Corps is so much fun. I can only hope this video does this game that is never mentioned among all time classics some decent justice as it really does deserve it, despite being one of Rares pre-Goldeneye no-name titles.
	Perfect Dark Moby/LimpBizkit Mission Impossible Remix & Take a Look Around		File size: 25.3mb Resolution: 320x240 Length: 5:15 Created: October 31st 04	Ok this is officially the nightmare video 2 (Sonic Tribute being the first) This time it was the confusion factor that just put me off to the point of suspending the video until the passion of making it had returned to me. Anyway it did after about 3 weeks and I finally got round to finishing it. The reason it was so mind boggling was that I had never made anything like this before. Basically the video is divided into 2 parts. First is the single player footage set to the MI remix by Moby, it has the whole spy thing going for it and uses quite a few of the cut scenes. The second half focus' on the 'combat simulator' or deathmatch of Perfect Dark, being the single greatest multiplayer in the history of video games. For this I wanted to keep the same song going but up the rhythm and volume, so I chose Limp Bizkit. Both songs were chopped and edited to bits to make it into a decent size and to keep interest as this is a video that doesn't like to stand still. The resolution was reduced to 320x240 for the second half of the video which suffered quite a bit of quality loss. Even if the final final final result isn't a success, I'm still glad to have paid tribute to one of the best games of all time. Just in case you're wondering, the version of the mission impossible theme in the end signature is by Pantera.
	16-bit Army Rage Against the Machine Know Your Enemy Streets of Rage 1,2,3 Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Mortal Kombat 3, Killer Instinct		File size: 24.7mb Resolution: 400x300 Length: 5:04 Created: December 14th 04	Ever tried to cram six goats into a phone booth? Well that's what it was like trying to make this video. It's my attempt to fit 6, count of SIX games into one video. The original plan was just to have the 3 Streets of Rage games to Rage Against the Machine to replace both the old SOR and Double Dragon 3 videos. However I also decided to add 3 beat 'em ups to the mix so I chose the fastest the Snes has to offer. When looking at the Mortal Kombat series I decided the first two were too slow, of course this means I had to unfortunately lose several classic characters like Raiden and Scorpion. Mortal Kombat 3 was a completely new game to me so I had to get used to it a bit before recording, and I can safely say I don't like it very much. It looks cool when playing but it is just so god damn hard! even on 'Very Easy' it's a struggle to get to the 3rd fight in the novice league. None the less I still added it and it does it's job. Killer Instinct was kind of a challenge too because I don't know some of the characters moves. Some of the fighters may seem to dominate the KI scenes a bit, but then I remembered that the bulk of this vid was meant for Streets of Rage. The other games were just there to spice it up. This was another project that took more than a while to complete, mainly because of the song structure. The start of 'Know Your Enemy' has a steady intro which seems to move pretty slow. When I finally sat down after weeks of leaving it I decided to get the footage for the extra games then start editing. When I got into the higher paced part of the track I finally started to make real progress. There was so much editing in it though it still took a few days to make and a couple more to 'tweak' it. The name is obvious, there are so many characters in this video they're like an army of the golden days when basic violence ruled the consoles.

However, I thought they would make more sense as separate projects. It's a good way to make features of all those video games deemed 'unsuitable' for music videos. Plus I get to exercize a totally different directing style. This one was going to be a pilot to see if the idea worked, but after I got half way through I thought I'd polish it up a bit and release it as the first proper episode.
	Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon The Vapors Turning Japanese		File size: 81.3mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 4:10 Created: October 17th 06	Ah, I love this game so much. It may be a bit short and a bit too easy but by god, it's just so damn crazy. I've tried some other games in the Goemon series, from the NES, SNES, N64 and Game Boy, but once you've played this one, the others just seem way too boring and tedious. Its blatent Zelda cloneing was what gave it its power, but for some reason Konami took that away as quickly as they provided. Anyway, the video. Not much to say really, the first MV of season 3, my standards have improved editing-wise so the rest is for you to judge. I did the best could with this one, the game lacks camera adjustment so there's the challenge right there, and of course all those nasty subtitles infecting every inch of it. A lot of editing went into it as you should notice, took me about 10 hours maybe, split over 2 days and 4 meals. Getting the footage though took even longer as I had to run through the whole game to attain the precious video nuggets.
	Cowboy Bebop Deep Purple Space Truckin		File size: 99mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 5:00 Created: November 9th 06	Only the third AMV I've made so far, this one. However Cowboy Bebop really does deserve tribute for being the most awesomest anime series out there. When I came to make it, I never realized how much cool action there is to harvest. It actually makes for a better video than Hellsing did. Anyway, it took a good 6 or 7 hours for me to assemble all the right stuff, and then roughly the same to edit the thing. I had to uninstall quite a few programs and games to make room for all the clips which took up about 25gb on my hard drive. The audio matchup was another case of imagineing a video to fit the song, rather than finding a song to fit the video. It tends to work out better that way, as you're making something that would be cool, rather than just trying to make something for the sake of it. Trickiest portion of the video was the guitar and drum solos somewhere in the middle. That's about it, the rest was just up to the eyes, the ears and the elbow grease. The YouTube version of this is terrible quality, I highly recommend the Google Video link.
	Donkey Kong 64 Kool and the Gang Jungle Boogie		File size: 84mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 3:32 Created: November 22nd 06	This one was pretty tough to get off the ground. For some reason the initial enthusiasm just wasn't there. I blame the song for doing my head in with its repetitive nature. You wouldn't believe how many times I almost went crazy from hearing the words 'Jungle Boogie' said over and over and over. Still it was too good of an idea to just leave like that, so I pushed on and it actually got easier the further it went. The rather awesome 'D.K Rap' makes up a fair bit of the video since it was that which gave me the idea. The game lacks any real cut scenes and getting in-game action wasn't a stroll in the park either due to the severe lack of enemies to fight. Thankfully though, there was enough footage from all the side games and places to go to prevent the content from becoming stretched.
	Star Fox Assault Kenny Loggins Highway to the Danger Zone		File size: 86.8mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 3:59 Created: November 30th 06	The song lends itself to the video so well in this piece it was actually dead simple to make. I would have prefered it without the subtitles but what can ya do? It's really a no brainer for anyone who's seen Top Gun and likes Star Fox. Assault contains lots of shiney cut scenes and juicy action to harvest. Because of its somewhat glossy finish, it easily suits the song better than Star Fox 64 would have. The game is also easier to play though with only one 'path' of missions. Because of this, 64 is still my favourite SF game even though Assault does have its own collection of radical merits, but the honor of best video is very much in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps this one is at a disadvantage being considerebly shorter, but I will never regret making it.
	The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Blind Guardian Nightfall		File size: 86.5mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 6:06 Created: December 21st 06	Oh boy, was this one an ordeal. After finishing the last Zelda video in 2004, I knew I had to make a proper Twilight Princess one when the game came out. Who knew it would take two and a half years. But it was definately worth re-living the Ocarina of Time delays for an Ocarina of Time calibur title. Not only that but waiting for a new console to play it on. Seven long days later and here it is, my tribute to the greatest Zelda game ever made. I actually used a VCR to get the footage for two reasons: One, I didn't want to ruin the experience by playing through my PC, and two, the game is so huge that re-playing the whole thing a second time was simply NOT an option. The song I had picked out in advance, not realising how much editing Blind Guardian songs entail. It's the longest video I've made in a fair few years, since then my standards have risen considerably so it took much much longer to create than predicted. Still I hope it does the game justice, as it truely does deserve it.
	The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Sonata Arctica Full Moon		File size: 80.1mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 5:55 Created: March 12th 07	If you've read the commentary for the Twilight Princess video you can forget all the hardship claims, THIS is the hardest video I've ever had to make. Of course I didn't HAVE to make it, but I was still in a Zelda mood and the game cartridge had just been laying there for about three years. Back when it first released in 2000 I was far to occupied with Perfect Dark to buy or even try it. After finishing Twilight Princess I thought "what the hell" and started taping over the footage with not so nice N64 graphics. What makes this even harder to complete than the Ocarina of Time vid is that Majora's Mask has only four dungeons and half as many 'cool' cutscenes. Coupled to the fact that the chosen song is about two minutes longer and far more complicated meant I had to improvise and be creative with some of the shots like the horseback clips. Regardless I hope it was worth it, not to tribute the game, nor Nintendo, but just because I would kill myself if it turned out to be shite. The signature in this one is just me messing about with an idea I had, it sounded much better in my head.
	IMF vs xXx Saliva Survival of the Sickest Mission Impossible 1/2/3 xXx 1/2		File size: 63.4mb Resolution: 720x576 Length: 4:31 Created: April 21st 07	This is kind of the spiritual successor to my weird Tom Cruise/Vin Diesel video from almost four years prior. Essentially, it focuses on two of my favourite mindless action movies: MI2 and xXx (the first) which harbour god knows how many explosions during their run time. The last attempt made no sense, pairing two very different actors, a handful of their films, and then topping it off with Limp Bizkit of all people for the soundtrack. This time I focused on just the two franchises and dropped the other movies like The Fast and the Furious and Minority Report. Mission Impossible 3 offered some pretty good action scenes, not so many from MI1 and xXx: State of the Union (which, for the record, I can't stand to watch) The main focus was on the two greats though, as the video is pretty much just all about the action. Finishing the thing took a while as I wasn't sure if it would even work. Luckily, there was just enough good footage to allow for a decent editing job. Saliva was chosen after a long period of self debate between 'Survival of the Sickest' and 'Flat on the Floor' by Nickelback. Originally the song was in mind for a Flatout 2 VGMV until I realised it would have sucked anyway. I don't really expect this to be as popular as some of my other videos, I just made it for me really.
	Metal2Metal Guns and Roses Out Ta Get Me Terminator 1/2/3 Robocop 1/2/3		File size: 70.5mb Resolution: 720x576 Length: 5:03 Created: May 14th 07	I so badly wanted to name this one 'Robocop vs Terminator' or 'Terminator vs Robocop' but those names have been used... oompty times by everyone under the sun. Anyway, it was pretty straight foward action syncing . Guns and Roses make this kind of thing mega easy, and yes it was inspired by the official T2 'You Could be Mine' video. Balancing the two franchises was a little harder since the Terminator films have such inflated budgets. Robocop may have seemed a bit overshadowed, but I did my best to pay him his dues. There was so much action however, that it needed less stretching and I had plenty left over. Jims opinions: T-800 was the only true Terminator, he should have remained the bad guy. Picking a female for the third film was a mistake. They should make a T4 set after the war, and Robocop 3 was a monstrosity. Also, my signatures seemed to be getting more showy with each video. So I dumbed it down a bit with this one, heheheh.
	Jet Set Racing Hideki Naganuma Let Mom Sleep Mario Kart 64 Diddy Kong Racing Snowboard Kids		File size: 76.6mb Resolution: 720x576 Length: 3:41 Created: May 25th 07	God knows where the idea for this one came from. I think I was just listening to the Jet Set Radio intro and it suddenly reminded me of Snowboard Kids... or Mario Kart... or was it DKR? all those colourful N64 racers seem to give the same effect. So I decided to mash them together and it became my editing play thing. I went a bit special effect crazy as you can see, discovering some gooduns I'll probabaly use in the future some time. This was pretty easy to make as I didn't have to spend so much time finding the very best clips and milking them for all they're worth. In fact because the audio was so random and inconsistant, making it actually became, dare I say it... fun?
	Excite Truck Tenacious D Car Chase City		File size: 55.9mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 2:43 Created: June 11th 07	It was my duty to make this video, to promote and sell it to on-the-fence racing fans. If you were the sort of guy who used to prefer Cruis'n USA or San Francisco Rush to something like Gran Turismo or Ridge Racer, or if today you would much rather buy the latest Burnout over PGR or Forza, there's a good chance you will love this game. The lunacy I found resembles that of Crazy Taxi, but the controls are what really make it special. Going through every twisty turny motion at high speed seems to put you right on the edge. Also the freedom of being able to jump over large wooded areas and chasms never gets old. Then throw into the mix encouraged road rage, tree runs, alternate routes and of course custom soundtracks. It is 100% arcade racing pornography, and one of the most underrated games on Wii. Such a shame they skimped on the multiplay because I really do believe it is a more exciting game than Burnout. Anyway the video was pretty straight forward again to make as racing titles usually are with replay modes. Problem with this one however was there's no cycling camera angles. You get 5 view points to choose from manually, 3rd person, cockpit, left, right and rear. Also the intro and credits footage was mostly obstructed by words and/or menus, if you have the game you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Thankfully though the song was pretty short, so I didn't have to rely on it too much. The audio on this video has actually been slowed by 1% (not that you'd notice) because the track got screwed up when imported to Adobe Premiere. Something that also happened with the IMF vs xXx video. Tenacious D was on my mind for this video, should it be made. After borrowing a copy of the game, I was pretty much sold on the idea as well as buying a copy for myself.
	Sonic Tribute 2 Anthrax Got The Time Sonic Adventure 1 Sonic Adventure 2 Sonic CD		File size: 64.1mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 3:06 Created: July 14th 07	I seem to be cursed when it comes to making Sonic videos. July '03: The first one was a nightmare to make and a nightmare to wake up to. February '05: The second one (using the same song as the first) was being made just as I lost the will to live/make videos before the site went into hiatus, so it was canned. And now, four years later I'm having another crack at it. This time with a different song which was picked months before hand. Problem is after listening to it so many times my patience for editing had worn thin, even more of an issue with complicated hybrid videos like this one. For footage I chose what I believe to be Sonics best looking moments. The animation from both Sonic CD cinematics and the 1993 movie are silky smooth, giving the 'hogs speed justice. Unlike the anime series Sonic X where the best they can do is give him some flashy blurring effects and a more frowny attitude. As for the games, I chose the Adventure titles because their control-crippling camera angles are just so good, and also because Sonic runs properly as if he actually had knees unlike Sonic and the Secret Rings. This video was simply a tribute to Sonic himself doing what he does best, running fast and looking awesome.
	Lord of the Rings in 14 Minutes Blind Guardian And Then There Was Silence Lord of the Rings Trilogy	Two Parts:	File size: 202.9mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 14:42 Created: September 23rd 07	Believe it or not, this was actually easier than I thought it would be. It did take a few weeks to finish, but ever since it was officially planned almost a year ago I had been dreading making it. I mean a FOURTEEN MINUTE fully synched music video, I must have been nuts. Nuts... or perhaps an absolute genius? No... probabaly just nuts. Anyway I chose 'Silence specifically for its length and complexity, no other song could capture the entire trilogy well enough. Although they sing of the Trojan war, so some git will probabaly point that out and hate it immediately. Originally I was just going to make a cool looking music video, but eventually decided to follow the plot in a fast paced manner. Certain parts of the song were given the scenes they most reminded me of, they were placed early on as structure guidelines. When filling in the gaps, some parts were pretty tricky where a certain amount of story had to be told within a short time, or a smaller scene had to last up to the next landmark. But for the most part the editing was a lot more laid back due to the amount of scenes I had to work with. The challenge was picking the right ones. A LOT of stuff is missing, like most of Frodo and Sams journey, certain characters dying, and certain key fights. I had to find a balance between plot summary and decent music video, and there is over 11 hours to cram in. Splitting it in 2 was a shame, and the YouTube uploads don't do justice to both brilliant sound and brilliant pictures, I highly recommend downloading the full version if you enjoy it.
	War2k Blind Guardian Battlefield Troy, Alexander, Kingdom of Heaven, 300, The Two Towers, The Return of the King		File size: 83.9mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 6:08 Created: October 17th 07	The idea on this one was quite simple. 'Battlefield' is a truley epic song which I wanted to bring to life with the best hack & slash war movies this decade has to offer. I had been waiting to make it for months, ever since 300 came out I had been waiting with excitement for the DVD release. In the UK that was October the 1st, two months after the US, from where I decided not to import. Then we had postal strikes which pushed it back another ten days. Finally I watched this movie for the first time and immediately the next day started work on War2k. 300 was MADE to be in music videos, unfortunately I couldn't use it too much or it would look repetitive and set the video off balance. The other films all have their share of golden battle scenes which were ripe for the harvest. Even so I seemed to run low on the best stuff near to the end, probabaly due to the songs many long chorus'. Still, I pushed to find what I could and distributed it evenly across the timeline, hopefully doing the song justice.
	Body Harvest Megadeth Crush'em		File size: 79.5mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 5:47 Created: November 28th 07	A music video of the N64 game: Body Harvest, I bet no one thought of doing that. Reason being hardly anyone has even heard of it. For the uninitiated, this what the makers of GTA did before GTA 3. Indeed it has an engine similar to that of GTA 3's. The game had a few faults in the physics department, and the graphics were pretty substandard to help with slowdown. But when you just played the game, and experienced all the vehicles on offer, you really don't give a shit. Getting enough footage of Body Harvest is not easy because it has only a few crappy cutscenes, and to get footage of all the vehicles you have to play through the whole game and this game is HARD, especially when you're driving 'blind' to get cool camera angels with intense action. So was it worth it? probabaly not, it will only excite a very small niche of people, but excite them it will, and in copious amounts. It was worth it in the sense that I have complimented one of the most treasured games of my childhood.
	The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Dark Moor Before the Duel		File size: 61.1mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 4:34 Created: December 22nd 07	I wasn't happy with the last Ocarina of Time video so I made this one. The previous project was basically a 'cash in' on the first Twilight Princess trailer, with OoT used to fill the extra space. I once again am forced to use DScaler to record footage due to the 60htz only Gamecube disk, however this time there were far more clips and I couldn't use a VCR. DScaler video takes up more space than the standard DV footage from my TV card so I needed a massive 30gb free. It also has a nasty habit of losing frames magically when space starts running out or when it's just been on for a while. This alone made the video a NIGHTMARE as I had to cut 'dead frames' out of several clips, something I haven't had to do since the old days. Also I was wrong about the game having more cool cut scenes than Majoras Mask, it has significantly less. Plus, even though I had completed the game twice already, it is still much longer than most Zelda games and I had to re-visit every dungeon after dealing with the space issue. Basically I have once again made the hardest of my Zelda videos, simply because it was in no way an enjoyable experience. The footage was just so shitty, it had me doubting the entire project the whole way through. For the music I originally planned to use Within Temptations 'See Who I Am' but decided at the last minute against it on my personal policy to avoid heavily symphonic music. It's cliche, and in this case brings the mood down. Dark Moor was perfect, symphonic yet more on the metal side. Unfortunately I now hate their song because of the pain this video has brought me.
	Super Mario Galaxy Queen Don't Stop Me Now		File size: 50.1mb Resolution: 640x480 Length: 3:41 Created: January 8th 08	This one was easy, simply a matter of completing the game (with 120 stars) deciding on the song after thinking about it for about 10 seconds, and re-visiting each star to get footage of everything. The only thing that slowed me up was a familiar issue where the audio corrupts itself somehow. That's all I can really say, cutscenes at the front and back, varied gameplay edited in the middle, short song totally straight forward. I was leaning toward the 'flying' scenes quite a bit because they just went with the song so well. Just so you know, the other song choices were 'Hyper Music' by Muse and 'Intergalactic' by Beastie Boys, but I am so glad I didn't choose them.

Who is Zé Mole and what is 8bm Studios?

8bm Studios (or Eight Ball Media) was a previous website of mine, Zé Mole was my video making alias. I dumped it in 2004 and started using 'JimLad' which I use much more commonly.

VGMV? AMV? AMMV? Bloody bloody acronyms!

VGMV = Video Game Music Video
AMV = Anime Music Video
AMMV = Action Movie Music Video (not sure what the correct acronym for it is)

What are Silent Games?

Short silent films made with video games. Originally I was going to make them in episodes, sort of like a web comic. However, I thought they would make more sense as separate projects.
It's a good way to make features of all those video games deemed 'unsuitable' for music videos. Plus I get to exercise a totally different directing style.

Why don't you upload all your videos to Google, YouTube and File Planet?

Well with both Google and YouTube I like to keep a 'clean portfolio' so to speak. I don't want any videos with either crappy picture quality or crappy editing to put people off looking at the decent ones.
With File Planet I have uploaded several videos which got rejected for some reason, it seems to be hit and miss so I'll probably try again at some point. If a certain video was edited really well but has shoddy image quality, I may be considering a re-make.

What do you use to make your videos?

Well, my PC for starters, a Pinnacle - PCTV card for capturing footage, and Adobe Premire 6.0 for editing.

Why is the quality on some of your season 1 videos so shitty?

My old PC used to have a TV card that didn't support very good capture functions. Because of this I had to use a program called 'Cam Studio' originally created for recording desktop activity. It produced low quality AVI footage and that's what I used on most of my videos before my new PC arrived. The clips were still put into Adobe Premiere and edited there, but they were already doomed to be crap from the start.

Didn't your videos used to have proper names?

Ah yes, the names. It's kind of weird, I started by not using names, then suddenly decided to half way through season 1, but by season 3 realised how pretentious is was and just removed them. Some videos still have names if they are a tribute to more than one thing.

Why do you compress your videos to WMV files?

Short answer: I prefer it to AVI or MPEG. I guess it just feels much more straight forward to use, it also shaves several megabytes off the file size while retaining a good quality picture and framerate. Up 'til about June 2003, my videos were made using the DivX AVI codec, many of them were re-edited and re-made into .wmv while some weren't and some couldn't be due to me deleting the original footage. This is what I refer to as 'The big WMV switch' in some of the commentaries.

Why don't you make more AMVs?

The first reason is that I don't have much Anime on DVD. The second reason is that I actually prefer making VGMVs, they allow you to be more flexible as an artist in regards to unique footage. With Anime everything is set, so you know exactly what you want to record and can just copy it straight from the DVD. Because of this most AMVs end up with the same footage, depending on how long the series is, it's like shooting fish in a barrel of glue. Also, there aren't many regular VGMV artists and I like to feel that I'm helping game makers by getting people to play their games.
