Dr. Henry Jekyll Finds His Way
Aurora walked the corridors for a bit before returning to the lab to find Henry had left and as she slipped in and was about to shut the door and tingle ran through her and she suppressed a growl.
“Where have you been?” Albert asked and Aurora squeezed her eyes shut for a moment then without answering him strode out the door. But Albert wasn’t about to give up. “Aurora.” He persisted after her all the way up to the sleeping corridors. She was only feet away from her door when he reached out and grabbed her arm and spun her around to face him. “Answer me.” He demanded and she glared at him.
“What I do and where I go are of no business to you Albert Singer.” She spat at him and wrenched her arm free of his grasp. The pressure of his fingers chilled her like none other, not even Hyde had chilled her blood completely. They stood there looking at each other.
“And if I make it my business?” He asked sharply and Aurora snorted.
“I don’t answer to you or anyone else.” She said growling.
“But you’ll answer to him is that it?” He said and Aurora looked at him as if he had lost a few more marbles than before.
“What are you talking about Albert?” She said feeling the anger and hate drain her.
“Jekyll.” He said challenging her with his eyes. Aurora felt a pain in her temple and reached up with her left hand to rub it.
“What part of ‘If I ever see you again I’m going to kill you’ did you not understand?” she asked through clenched teeth her eyes closed tightly to the pain. Nemo had surfaced the ship and she could see the sun through one of the windows. She suddenly needed fresh air and she turned to make her way to the top of the ship.
“Why do you hate me so much?” Albert asked his voice rising slightly. Aurora’s head began to hurt even more as she spun around to face him again and yell.
“YOU TRIED TO KILL ME!” Her voice echoed softly off the walls and down the corridor. Sawyer and Dorian glanced at each other from the sight deck and turned when the door opened. Aurora walked out and looked at the people gathered there.
“Aurora?” Her grandfather asked coming to her side but she raised her arm away from his grasp and continued to walk down the deck to it’s end where she easily jumped onto the rail then down onto the narrow strip of ship that made the Nautilus’ nose. Mina gasped and looked over the rail along with everyone else. Aurora landed gracefully on her feet and began to walk down the length of the nose until she could go no further. And there she stood, allowing the wind to whip her hair sharply around her. Albert was left standing in the corridor until he went to his quarters in rage and began to toss things about his room in anger.
It wasn’t until the sun began to set on the horizon that Aurora turned and walked back to the deck. With ease she pulled herself up on deck and slowly stood and let her eyes run up Dorian as he stood there looking at her.
“Something I can do for you Dorian?” She asked softly to which he smiled.
“Not really.” He said and she raised her eyebrow and began to walk past him. “Well except for perhaps one thing.” Aurora turned and looked at him and he smiled.
Half an hour later he turned and looked at her. Aurora had been somewhat surprised to find that all he wanted was some company as he stood out there. He had told her his little secret of how it was a portrait of himself that actually keeps him alive. She told him her secret about her mother and the powerful magic she had had in her and past down to her daughter.
“I admit I don’t use it often though.” She was saying looking into the inky blackness of night. “I use my heightened senses a lot more.”
“You have strength and agility.” Dorian commented and she nodded.
“The strength comes from the Quatermain blood as I am sure you can imagine the agility from just being a woman.” She smiled and looked over at him and Dorian chuckled.
“I do hope you don’t mind this next question, but why aren’t you married?” Dorian asked and Aurora snorted then laughed.
“Married? Me? God no.” She turned her back on the railing and Dorian chuckled.
“What’s so wrong with marriage?” Aurora rolled her eyes.
“There’s nothing with the act itself I guess, it’s the fact that there probably is not a man on this earth I’d ever even entertain marrying.”
“And why is that?”
“Because all a man wants to do with me, besides the fun bedroom activities is change me into someone I’m not.” Aurora said bitterly.
“A well behaved decent woman.” Dorian said and she smiled and looked at him.
“Yes. A wife any man these jaded times would be more than proud of. Beautiful, decently dressed, well behaved, never adventures farther than the beauty shop from her home…” Dorian began to laugh.
“And that is defiantly not you.”
“Not the way I was raised. And I don’t regret it either.” Aurora paused for a moment and sighed. “You see Dorian, I need a man who will accept me for what I am not what he wants me to be.” She said and Dorian smiled. “I need a man who not only encourages me to go on adventures but would actually consider coming along as well. A man who won’t make excuses for me about my behavior or my sudden brilliant outbursts.”
“Sounds like you need a Quatermain.” Dorian said through a chuckle.
“Mmmmm…except I am the last of the Quatermain blood line.” She said looking over at him. He turned and gave her a look and placed a hand on her arm.
“He’s out there Aurora.” He said smiling devilishly. “Perhaps even on this very ship.” Aurora raised an eyebrow and looked at him carefully.
“Are you suggesting something Dorian?” She asked with a hint of a smile on her lips. Dorian looked at her for a moment then laughed.
“Not me my dear. I’m afraid that you’d kill me in the long run.” He said teasingly and Aurora smiled.
“You wouldn’t be the first immortal that I’ve killed.” She said standing up right and Dorian smiled and gestured for her to take the lead.
“And no doubt the last.” He said following her through the door and down the stairs.
“She looked at me.” Hyde’s voice growled in Henry’s head as he sat hidden on the other side of the deck listening to Aurora and Dorian talk. “She touched me!”
“Shut up.” Henry hissed as loudly as he dared. He had been sitting out there for most of the rest of the day trying to clear his head and make sense of what had happened earlier with Aurora in the lab closet. But every time he thought about it, his mind would wander to the memory of her touch. This was Hyde’s cue to ruefully remind him that it was him, not Henry, she was kissing and touching. He was caught off guard to hear Dorian’s voice ask Aurora to keep him company on deck for a bit longer. And even more surprised when she agreed. He thought about leaving the deck, but that would mean having to walk by Aurora and Dorian and at the moment he wasn’t able to do so. So he stayed and listened. He sighed as they left the deck a half an hour later, running his fingers through his thick hair. After a moment or so he stood barely noticing that the combination of sitting for so long and the sheer coldness of the night had made his butt slightly numb.
Aurora was feeling better after her talk with Dorian on deck and had gone straight to the lab. She played with some potions of her own for awhile until she was extremely satisfied with one which she bottled and walked out of the lab with. After carefully concealing any evidence of what she had done. She rounded the corner on her way to her quarters when she ran into Albert, almost literally. They stood for a moment looking at each other and Aurora turned slightly to her right and walked around him. For a moment he did nothing, and then with anger bubbling up inside him once again he turned and grabbed her slamming her into the wall.
“You will learn that I am not the man with whom to fuck with.” Albert growled at her holding her tightly, digging his fingers into the soft flesh of her fore arms. With each word he squeezed tighter until his very fingernails where cutting into her flesh. Aurora glared at him and quickly brought her arms up in front of her then outwards making Albert loose his hold on her arms. Then she grabbed him and slammed him against the opposite wall and held him where he couldn’t move.
“Do not cross me Albert or I will kill you this time. I don’t know why I even spared you in the first place, but do not think that I will be making the same mistake again anytime soon.” She stood there glaring at him for a moment before cocking her head slightly to the side. “Any questions?” She asked and after a moment of him not responding she smiled. “Good. I am glad we finally understand each other. Have a good night Albert.” And with that she released him and walked on down the hall. Albert quickly turned in the other direction and went around the corner.
Aurora passed the door to her quarters and continued down the corridor to another door. Here she stopped and looked at it for a moment before raising her hand and knocking on it.
Henry was lying on his bed trying his damnest to block Hyde out but nothing was working. Hyde was more than upset at Aurora’s trickery, and when Henry smiled at the sheer brilliance of it, it only made Hyde even angrier. A knock at his door made him sit up and for a moment he considered not answering it but sighed and decided that any distraction at the moment would be welcomed. He opened the door and just stared at the distraction that had come. Aurora stood there looking at him and with a small smile crossed her arms.
“Are you going to invite me in Dr. Jekyll or am I to stay out in the corridor?” She asked to which Henry only answered by moving out of her way so she could enter. She walked in and again passed by the bed. Henry closed the door and automatically locked it without realizing it. He turned and looked at Aurora’s back for a moment before she turned around and tossed something in his direction. He caught it with ease and looked at the light red liquid inside the vial.
“What’s this?” he asked looking at her and she didn’t say a word for a moment.
“Something that may ease your suffering temporarily at least.” She replied and Henry looked at her in disbelief. Was she really saying what he thought she was saying?
“Henry.” Hyde said coldly. “What is she saying?” Henry smiled as he realized that Hyde had not yet caught on to what Aurora was hinting. What could it hurt he thought as he took the stopper out and looked at it for a moment.
“I’m not promising anything. It’s not tested.” She said and Henry met her eyes then drank the liquid in the vial and made a face. “Sorry. Didn’t have time to add any acceptable flavoring.” Henry looked at her with the back of his hand to his mouth as he slowly wiped it across. “Well?” she whispered and Henry continued to just stand there. His eyes lowered to the floor and after a couple of minutes he smiled and in two large strides he crossed the room to where Aurora was standing and caught her in a tight hug. Startled for a moment she did the only thing that came natural which was to wrap her arms around his neck and hug him back, her lips almost pressed to his right ear. “It worked?” She whispered and Henry laughed squeezing her a little tighter. He placed his hands on her shoulders and pushed her back so he could look at her. She let her hands come to rest on his chest.
“How did you…? What did you…?” He seemed to be at a loss for words which made Aurora smile.
“I went with a gut feeling.” She said and Henry laughed again sliding his hands down her arms until he caught her hands in his own and pulling them away from his chest he kissed her fingertips. She looked into Henry’s eyes and saw nothing but the warm brown looking back at her. “I am glad it worked. Perhaps now we can create something to rid you of Hyde completely. You know. Without his distraction.” Henry thought about what she said, her fingertips still touching his lips. He brushed them against her fingers and she wrinkled her brow.
“Not yet. I can’t rid myself of him yet Aurora. I may need him still to see this mission through. Besides, there’s something else I’d rather do with this time than sit in a lab.” He said the last part making his eyes sparkle and shine and Aurora had to laugh softly at the new man she was seeing in front of her.
“And what could that possibly be?” She asked smiling.
“Don’t you know?” He asked and she blinked. “But no, I don’t suppose you would.” He said still smiling.
“Do I at least get a hint?” She asked unable to stop smiling. Henry smiled and it touched his eyes and something else shone in them as well. It wasn’t Hyde, and before Aurora could quite grasp what it was, he lowered her hands separating them and pulling her closer to him until he could slide his hand behind her neck and bring her to his lips. She melted easily into him and any memory of Hyde was gone. When they parted softly Henry looked into her eyes.
“With Hyde I was always afraid to act on any impulse with the fear that he could take over in a moment of weakness, like you saw earlier.” Henry whispered as he softly threaded his fingers into her soft hair. “But now that he’s gone…” Henry didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence for Aurora passionately kissed him slipping her hand under his shirt once again. The heat of her touch intoxicated him deeply and he found that he was losing himself to her easily, not to mention eagerly.
The passion that he returned to her made her whole body tingle. Sounds, scents, and his touch were enhanced beyond anything she had ever experienced before in her life and before she knew it he was falling back onto his bed with her on top of him. She sat up pulling the rest of his shirt out of his pants then grasping the ends of the two halves that came together she quickly pulled them apart popping each and every button. Henry didn’t protest for a moment, instead he reached up and pulled her back onto him and sought out her lips. Her hair tumbled off her shoulders and tickled the flesh of his chest which made him chuckle and reach around to expertly untie the bodice that wrapped itself effortlessly around her midriff. Releasing the shirt underneath to easily slip over her head. He ran his hands up her bare back feeling her soft breasts pressed against his chest. She suddenly sat back up and looked down at him with heat in her eyes. His hands slid across her soft midriff and he could feel the muscles hidden beneath her skin and smiled as they gave way to firm ample breasts that reacted instantly to his touch.
Her fingers caressed the muscles in his stomach as they followed the trail of hair that disappeared into his pants and were persistent on following that trail to its end. She loosened his pants making him moan inwardly. He suddenly rolled her to where she was on her back with him on top of her and she laughed softly and gently grabbed his lower lip with her teeth and pulled lightly down making him come closer to her until she could lightly and erotically suck his lip. She felt him harden against her hip and he moaned and kissed her neck, following it down to her shoulder and then cutting across and down her right breast catching her nipple in his mouth making her gasp as he softly sucked on it, distracting her from him loosening the belt about her waist and untying the leather straps that would release her from the leather keeping her from him. Shoes thumped to the floor soon followed by first his then her pants. He sat on his heels between her knees taking her in. Every freckle, every scar, and every curve. He leaned forward and kissed her abdomen right below her belly button making her smile and slightly raised her hips to him. He smiled against her skin and took in a deep breath and knew he’d never forget the scent of her and he began to kiss her making a trail up between her breasts in the hollow of her throat on her chin and finally to her lips. Her soft tongue forced itself easily between his lips and he sucked on it softly reveling in the taste of her. She raised her hips to him and a tingle went down his spine as he slid himself inside of her. Her back arched softly as she ran her fingers through his hair pulling him down back on top of her. He wanted to take his time with her, to enjoy every moment he could in the precious time they had without Hyde, but Aurora apparently had other plans for she easily rolled him to his back keeping him snuggly inside of her. When she sat up straight he squeezed her thighs as he went in deeper than he had ever been with anyone. She rocked softly on him and he saw for himself the marvelous display of toned muscle at work in every part of her body all working for a common goal. He sat up taking her lips with his for a moment before she pulled back slightly with a smile and they lost each other in the other’s eyes. His tongue flicked across her skin now beginning to bead with sweat and fell back onto the bed pulling her with him. The softness of her hair surrounded his face as she pushed herself up on her hands never pausing in her movements. He tucked some of her hair behind her ear and ran his thumb against her jaw and she turned and took it in her mouth and sucked it softly closing her eyes as a soft moan began deep in her chest. He brought her down to his lips again just as pleasure began to rock her body and he rolled her over on her back and swallowed her screams with his mouth as he began to share in her pleasure. He grabbed the edge of the mattress above their heads and pulled himself deeper into her making her back arch again, this time with more lift. They laid there together for a few minutes before he lifted his head from her chest and looked into the now emerald eyes of Aurora and with a boyish smiled traced her lips with his finger.
“Stay with me tonight.” He all but whispered to her and a smile played at her lips as she placed her hand on his cheek and ran her thumb along his cheek bone.
“I don’t know how long the formula will keep Hyde away.” She whispered. Henry chuckled.
“As soon as he returns he’ll know anyway.” He said sadly but Aurora smiled evilly. He looked at her and had to laugh.
“I added a small amount of an ingredient that will block anything you do without him from his knowledge. And perhaps eventually make his appearances less and less frequent.” She went on to tell him about how the brain will sometimes block out traumatic experiences that happens to people and how scientists found a drug that can do just that. She had altered the drug just enough where only Hyde would never know even if Henry recalled it while Hyde was present. Most of the information she gave him he already knew for the most part, but he was amazed at her brilliance in being able to alter the drug to a such a specific degree and create a counter formula to his even if it is just a temporary one. When he commented that he would like to see her notes on it she laughed softly and told him that she would have to show him since all of her notes were in her head and nowhere else. He found he loved to listen to her voice and she amazed him with the loads of information stored in her head. She was telling him about the amazing differences in a certain species of animals when he could hold it no longer. With one easy movement he wrapped his arms around her and rolled her on top of him making her laugh lightly and then kiss her softly as he proceeded to make love to her for the second time that night.
