The Third Day Reveals Much

Aurora woke earlier than usual the following morning. It was the third day; they should arrive in Venice sometime today. She smiled to herself as she felt the warm pressure of Henry’s arm draped across her hip and with soft movements as not to wake him; she slipped from his bed and slipped on her clothes.
She had only been in her room for not but ten minutes when a sharp knock sounded at her door. She opened it to find her grandfather standing on the other side.
“You’re awake. And dressed.” He said surprised. “In the same clothes you wore yesterday.” Aurora yawned and smiled.
“I slept in my clothes last night. And as for being awake, that’s a matter of debate.”
“Are you ready for breakfast?” He asked looking at Aurora carefully.
“Actually, I was planning to crawl back into bed and get a bit more beauty sleep if it’s all the same to you.” She said leaning against the edge of the door. Allan smiled and turned to go.
“Just don’t get too much of that beauty sleep Aurora. Men are already having enough trouble keeping their eyes, not to mention hands, off of you.” Allan said chuckling as he walked away. Aurora smiled as she shut the door and walked over to her bed and fell on it wrapping her arms around herself thinking about Henry.

Not too long after that Aurora was dressed in fresh clothing. She wore soft brown leather pants that laced up the sides with a black sleeveless shirt all covered by a light flowing and quite feminine see through lace jacket that covered her arms and her chest, giving just a peek at her ample breasts then it flowed out from her waist to touch the floor, until she slipped on her boots then it was about an inch above the floor. When she walked down the corridor it flowed out behind her. Half way towards the dining room she met up with Mina.
“Mina.” She said with a smile.
“Aurora.” She said back. Aurora smiled as they continued to walk down the hall.
“Mrs. Harker.” Aurora jested and Mina smiled.
“Mrs. Jekyll.” She countered and Aurora slid to a stop and gave her a look that made Mina laugh. “Don’t look so surprised Aurora.” Mina continued with a smile. “A woman knows.” Mina looked at Aurora as a smiled spread across her soft lips.
“Knows.” Aurora said beginning to walk again with Mina at her side.
“Yes, a woman always knows when a fellow woman has been pleased.” Mina said and they looked at each other and smiled as they walked into the dining room.
“Ahh, the women have finally arrived.” Dorian said looking at the door as they entered Aurora gave him a look with a cocked smile.
“Don’t tell me you gentlemen have been waiting on us?” Aurora asked sitting down across from Allan and next to Henry. Mina gave her a look as she took her seat next to Dorian and Sawyer.
“Of course not.” Allan said with a smile looking from his paper to Aurora. “If we would have waited there wouldn’t have been anything left by the time you were done.” Aurora rolled her eyes as a plate was sat down in front of her heaped with different foods.
“Healthy appetite?” Henry asked and Allan laughed.
“You could say that.” He said and Aurora sighed.
“I’m special remember?” She asked popping a slice of bacon in her mouth.
“Indeed.” Allan said placing the paper down. “She’s always been able to eat more than normal since she was born. At first we feared that she had a problem with her digestion and that she wasn’t getting enough nutrients so she had to eat more. It wasn’t until she was five that it was discovered that she has a high metabolism that burned off the body’s much needed fat cells faster than she can take them in.” Aurora sighed and just gave her grandfather a look.
“I do believe Mr. Quatermain that the only thing you like better than telling the stories of your wondrous adventures, is telling my little secrets.” Aurora stated and then continued. “If I remember correctly you had your fare share of pleasures in the Capoli village.” Here Allan began to laugh and his eyes twinkled.
“Yes, and I wasn’t the only one.” He said fixing her with a look.
“You lead, I follow.”
“And if I remember correctly my darling granddaughter, it was you not I who got into some serious trouble.” Aurora stopped chewing and swallowed giving Allan a look.
“It was a simple case of misunderstanding. I keep telling you that, but you don’t seem to ever believe me.” Aurora said taking a drink of water.
“He was a prince.”
“I didn’t know that.”
“The medallion around his neck was your first clue.”
“He was not wearing said medallion when I met him.” Aurora shot back with a smile. Allan sighed and leaned back in his chair.
“Now that was an interesting rescue.” Allan stated.
“Rescue? I was doing just fine when you came along.”
“Oh yes, I could tell. By the time I arrived they had your hands tied up over your head and you were naked from the waist up.” Allan reminded her to which she smiled and folded her hands on the table in front of her and leaned forward.
“I would have been completely naked if I had let them figure out my pants.” She said and smiled at the confused faces around them. “You see, the Capoli people used punishment for their wrong doers, depending on their crimes, and my punishment was to be strung up by the wrists on a pole in the middle of the village completely naked so that any man walking by could have his way with me if he wished.”
“What did you do?” Mina asked wide-eyed.
“She slept with the virgin prince.” Allan said quickly pointing at Aurora who snorted softly.
“That prince was no virgin” She said and Dorian chuckled.
“Then how could they tell you slept with him?” Sawyer asked and Aurora shrugged.
“I bit him.” She stated simply and Allan laughed.
“Left a very nice, very clear impression of her teeth on his chest.”
“I had forgotten that everyone went bare-chested around there.”
“A woman was strung up for three years before you came along.”
“Mmmm...”
“Discretion is the key to living Aurora. I don’t think I need to remind you of that again do I?” Allan teased her.
“Oh of course not! Although, I would practice what you preach my dear Allan.” Aurora countered making him raise an eyebrow. “Remember, you lead, I follow.” An amused silence followed and Nemo cleared his throat.
“We should reach Venice by sundown.” He said and Allan nodded. “I have the copies of the plans that the Fantom stole from the London bank. It seems he means to bring the whole city down.”

The Fantom was the sole reason the group of people around her were brought together in the first place. He had been terrorizing countries with strange but powerful weapons and making them bey for blood and would possibly end up starting a war. They, of course, were to stop him from doing so, and sinking Venice during the secret conference was one sure way to start his bloody war.

“Well then I suggest we stop him.” Aurora stated the obvious. “It is why we are all here of course.” Albert snorted and Aurora cracked a knuckle against the table. “With the exception of you of course Albert. I have no clue why you are here.”
“There are a lot of things you don’t know Aurora, does that surprise you?” He looked down the table at her and she stared at him blankly. “You who knows everything. You who can sense everything. Did it ever occur to you that you can’t sense it all? You will never know it all?” Aurora laughed shortly and stood.
“Of course it has Albert. How was I to know you were going to try and shove a knife through my heart the last time we met? I admit I do not even pretend to know everything, and that, is what makes life so much more fun.” Aurora glanced around the table. “And now if you will excuse me I think I’ll go prepare for Venice.” With a glare to Albert, Aurora turned and strode out of the room.
“She really doesn’t like you at all mate.” Skinner said smiling. Albert just looked at him and scowled.
“Why are you here Mr. Singer?” Mina asked looking at him. “We all here have traits useful to this venture. A hunter,” she motioned towards Allan, “A doctor,” she motioned towards Henry, “An agent,” her hand motioned to her right at Sawyer. “Dorian has experience, Nemo this vessel, and even Skinner has stealth.”
“Cheers.” Skinner said downing a glass of whiskey.
“Aurora and I, be it distractions to some,” her eyes went to Henry for just a moment before her gaze fell to Allan and he smiled. “Are quite useful. Aurora with her speed and agility among some yet unseen powers, and I as a chemist.” Mina looked at Albert and he gave her a bitter smile.
“I my dear am here solely to keep you all on track and to make sure distractions do not get in the way of your mission.” Albert glanced down the table to Henry who just looked back at Albert with no expression what so ever. Then he stood and gave Albert a half smile.
“I’ll be in the lab if anyone should need me.” He paused for a moment then smiled. “Or Hyde.” He left without saying another word and Mina sighed to herself and stood with a smile to the gentlemen around her she left without saying a word.

Aurora flipped the page to her book and rested her head on her hand letting her fingers pull softly at her curls. A knock sounded at her door, and she had half a mind to ignore it but in the end decided to roll off her bed where she was laying on her stomach reading and opened the door.
“Mina.” She said slightly startled and invited her in.
“What is Albert’s story?” Mina asked coming right to the point and Aurora smiled.
“You mean why do we know and hate each other so much?” Aurora asked closing the door behind Mina as she turned and smiled at Aurora. “It’s a long story actually.” Aurora said walking over to a chair and sitting down. Motioning for Mina to take the other chair and continued once she did. “He’d like to think we use to be lovers, but the truth is I never really liked him all that well. I tolerated him around me, and he was always around me.”
“Like a lost puppy following your every footstep?” Mina asked amused and Aurora laughed softly.
“Almost. For awhile he became my shadow. I couldn’t turn around without running into him. He wasn’t all that useful out in the field. Or in the bedroom in case you were wondering, and no, I have never, will never, have slept with the man. This is probably what caused the change in our relationship. For him at least. He is a jealous man, and even though we weren’t together, he’d get angry when I was with someone else, even if it was only for a few minutes. And it was for that reason that he tried to kill me. He had gotten into a jealous rage and picked up a knife and came at me, completely taking me by surprise since he was never violent before and actually hated watching me kick the crap out of someone, so he managed to nick me before it sank in he actually meant to kill me.”
Aurora opened her shirt a bit and exposed the flesh over her heart and Mina looked at the small white line carved into her flesh that now was a scar. “Until a couple of days ago, I hadn’t seen him since. I told him that if I ever did see him again I would kill him. So he’s risking a lot just by being here. But, I figure that since he’s here for a mission, although something in my gut tells me it’s not the same mission we’re here for, that I’d let him live. For now, I can and do change my mind from time to time.” Mina smiled and then made a face.
“Nemo found some powder in the control room that I have identified as magnesium phosphorus.” Mina said and Aurora looked at her curiously.
“Photographer’s powder?” Aurora asked and Mina nodded.
“Seems to be. Perhaps someone wishes to capture this vessel’s secrets.” Mina watched Aurora as she mulled her statement over in her mind.
“I don’t see how it would be useful to Albert. He’s no scientist. He’s not really anything that I know of.” Aurora sighed and stared at the floor. Mina smiled and stood.
“Even so, I think it would be wise to keep an eye on him.” She said and headed for the door. Aurora nodded slowly and Mina paused with a smile. “Dr. Jekyll is in the lab in case you were wondering.” She said as she left. Aurora lifted her eyes to the door as it closed and couldn’t help but smile.

She leaned against the door to the lab and just watched Henry for a moment with a smile. He was wearing dark pants with a white shirt and black vest. His shirt sleeves were rolled up above his elbows. He was looking through the microscope when she walked up behind him.
“And what are we working on Doctor?” She asked softly and stepped to his left. She saw him smile briefly then looked up at her in all seriousness.
“Just taking a look at some of my own blood.” He told her and she raised an eyebrow. “Blood filled with your potion my dear.” He remarked and shook his head looking back through the microscope. “It’s remarkable.” He said then smiled again. “He’s still gone.” Aurora leaned against the table and just kept watching Henry.
“Really? How long does that make it now?” She asked and Henry looked at her smiling.
“Coming around thirteen hours now I believe. Not exactly sure what time I took it last night.” Aurora began to cluck her tongue and Henry looked at her strangely.
“That’s very unscientific of you doctor,” She said sliding the microscope down the table a ways. “Not taking note of the time. It would be good knowledge to know how long the potion lasts so you’ll know when to expect him again.” Aurora was now standing in front of Henry, still leaning against the table. Henry smiled at her and leaned forward placing a hand on either side of her on the table.
“What would be good knowledge is how you came up with the potion itself.” Henry said and Aurora agreed with a smile of her own.
“I played with your formula.” She said simply and Henry looked at her waiting for more. Aurora playfully tugged on his shirt. “I’m not so sure I’m ready to reveal to you all my secrets my good doctor.” Henry chuckled.
“Secrets. Seems you have many Miss Quatermain.” He said and stepped to the side to stand in front of the microscope again.
“Don’t we all?” She asked turning slightly to face him. Henry only smiled an answer and Aurora almost laughed. “Something troubling you doctor?” She asked him and he glanced sideways at her.
“Bit him.” He said and Aurora rolled her eyes.
“Yes, it has never been said that my bark is worst than my bite.” Aurora said stepping closer to him. “I hadn’t even realized I had bit him until the next morning.” She whispered in his ear as her left hand slid under his arm to the top buttons of his shirt. She undid a couple and slid her hand until it was almost over his heart. “Right here.” She said and removed her hand. “I had to have drawn blood for the mark to be so deep and colorful.” She stepped behind Henry running a finger up his left arm to the collar of his shirt. “Don’t tell me you’re jealous.” She said slightly pulling on his collar. “The last man who got jealous of me almost killed me.”
“Albert?” Henry asked still looking at the microscope but no longer at the blood sample.
“Yes, Albert. Never lovers him and I though, so I don’t know why he got so jealous.”
“Jealousy is a strange emotion.” Henry said as Aurora pulled some more at his collar exposing the back of his shoulder to her.
“It’s a useless emotion.” Aurora stated and then sank her teeth into the exposed flesh of his shoulder making him grip the table for a moment before snaking his left arm around her waist and pulling her around in front of him making her release her grip on his flesh.
“Do you bite everyone you bed?” He asked huskily as she wound her fingers in his hair at his neck.
“Only the ones I like.” She said with a smile then pulled him to her. He eagerly kissed her lips, something he had wanted to do since he saw her and then he pulled away from her slightly to look at her.
“You weren’t there when I woke up this morning.” He commented brushing her hair off her shoulders.
“I had to get back to my room before others woke up.” She said pouting a bit. “As it was Allan was knocking on my door no more than ten minutes after I returned.”
“Afraid he’d find out?” Henry asked almost hurt but Aurora laughed.
“Ten to one, he already knows. Nothing gets by Allan Quatermain.” Aurora glanced at the door to the lab for a moment and sighed.
“What is it?” Henry asked her and she shook her head.
“Nothing I guess. Just thought I heard…” Henry had begun to nibble on her earlobe which tickled her slightly. He moved from her ear to her jawbone and found her lips again. He pressed her against the table as her hands went for the buttons on his shirt. He reached up and took her hands for a moment and whispered in her ear.
“Leave the buttons on this one if you please, or I’m going to run out of shirts.” Aurora laughed softly and undid the remaining buttons and the buttons on his vest and pulled his shirt out of his pants. He picked her up and placed her on the table his hands sliding up her sides and across her breasts. A loud clanging noise down the hall called Aurora’s attention and Henry groaned at her throat.
“Something’s wrong.” She said making a face at the door as footsteps could be heard coming their way.
“You’re telling me.” Henry mumbled into her shoulder and Aurora smiled and kissed his ear as he moved away from her and began to button his shirt back up. He had just finished with the last button and looked back into the microscope when Allan, Dorian, Mina, Nemo and Sawyer walked through the door.
“Skinner is missing.” Allan announced and Aurora, now with her legs crossed but still sitting on the table, smirked.
“He’s probably naked.” She said and Allan gave her a look. Aurora sighed and rolled her eyes then met Mina’s who was smiling with a knowing look and Aurora wrinkled her nose for a moment.
“Find him.” Allan said and Aurora looked at him.
“It’s a big boat.” She said and glanced at Nemo who was despite himself smiling at her comment. “But it shouldn’t take long.” Aurora closed her eyes and began to search using her ears and the crewmembers’ thoughts.
“What is she waiting for?” Sawyer whispered and Allan chuckled.
“She’s searching in her own way Sawyer.” Allan told him then continued to explain. “She’s using her ears to listen for him, his movements, his heartbeat, anything that would tell her where he is.”
“And it’s a lot easier when people keep their mouths shut.” Aurora stated opening her left eye a slit to look at Allan. “There’s a lot of people, each one making their own noises, each one thinking their own thoughts.”
“You know what people are thinking?” Dorian asked a little impressed.
“Only when they wish to share those thoughts with me. I don’t like going into others minds, there are some things that really should be kept to one’s self...” Aurora paused and made a face. “Like that for instance. I could have lived the rest of my life not knowing that.” Allan smiled and moved a bit closer to Aurora. Henry had long stopped pretending to be interested in his own blood and watched Aurora along with everyone else. She suddenly smiled brightly.
“You found him?” Nemo asked and Aurora shook her head.
“No, but Albert is in one hell of a bad mood.” She said still smiling. “Oh, there you are Skinner. He’s in the cargo bay.”
“Which one?” Sawyer interrupted and Aurora sighed.
“He’s in the cargo bay, the one where we held Hyde. He’s pacing and something is indeed wrong.” She said and opened her eyes. “And he’s naked.” She finished and looked at Allan. “What’s going on?”
“We’re not sure.” Sawyer answered and Aurora gave him a smile and pushed herself off the table.
“Well, why don’t I go have a talk with our dear Mr. Singer and find out if he knows anything in particular while you can go have a talk with Skinner?” Aurora suggested and walked towards the door.
“When you say talk…” Allan said making Aurora stop at the door and turn to look at him. “You do mean vocally I hope.” Allan’s eyes were bright and Aurora smiled.
“You have taught me many ways of communicating, Allan, but yes, I do believe I do mean to actually talk with him using my voice. Although, plans do have a way of changing.” She said then disappeared down the hall.
“Sawyer and I will talk with Skinner.” Allan stated and the others nodded and began to file out of the lab. Mina looked at Henry and smiled softly before she left. Allan stood by Henry for a moment then patted him on the back. “You missed a button my boy.” He said to Henry before walking out of the lab. Henry looked down at his shirt and smiled as he did indeed manage to miss a button. He reached up and fixed his shirt and looked back at the microscope.
“So much for concentrating.” He said to himself.

Aurora stepped out on the watch deck and watched as Albert was pacing the deck. He came to an abrupt stop when he saw Aurora standing there and he glared at her. “Something wrong Albert?” She asked unnecessarily, smirking at him. He just kept on glaring at her.
“As if you don’t already know. What do you want Aurora?” He said in a cruel voice that made Aurora smile.
“Just to talk.” She stated walking past him to the rail and looked down into the frothy sea before looking back at him. “Mina has identified some powder as magnesium phosphorus. You wouldn’t know how it got in the control room now would you Albert?” She asked him leaning against the rail.
“I wouldn’t know. Why don’t you ask Skinner? Or your new friend Dr. Jekyll.” Albert growled at her and she stretched her arms out on the rail.
“Now why would you say that?” She asked challenging him with her eyes. “You wouldn’t have happened to stumble onto something now would you?” Albert’s eyes narrowed at her and he took a few strides forward until he was standing only inches from her.
“Does he know you’re playing with him Aurora? Like you play with all men who look at you with even a hint of interest?” Albert spat at her and Aurora smiled softly.
“I didn’t play with you now did I Albert?” She said and before she could react Albert placed his hands on her shoulders and shoved. Aurora slid down the side of the Nautilus swearing before she hit the cold water that sent pain throughout her body as if a thousand knives all hit her at once.
Albert watched her as she hit the water and went under. The sound of the door opening behind him made him turn quickly away from the rail. Henry stepped out on the deck and looked around.
“Where’s Aurora?” He asked Albert and Albert shrugged.
“I am not her keeper, how am I supposed to know where she is? Isn't that your job now?” Albert’s gaze burned in to Henry and Henry’s jaw muscles were working softly as he crossed his arms in front of him.
“She was coming out here to see you.” Henry said and Albert shrugged.
“Well she never made it apparently.” Albert stated and began to head for the door but Henry stepped out in front of him.
“Really.” He said fixing Albert with a look.
"Yes really." Albert growled and walked around Henry but stopped at the door and smiled. "You know," he said turning to look back at Henry. "She's just playing with you. Different mission, different guy. As soon as it's all over she'll forget about you and find someone else. She gets bored of the same man after awhile. As inevitable as summer into autumn. You're just a toy to her. You're not the first, and certainly not the last." Henry turned and looked at Albert. He could feel Hyde begging him to let him out and have a go with Albert, and for a moment Henry considered it.
"At least I'm a toy being played with." Henry said with almost a hint of a smile. "And not one just standing by wanting to be played with." Albert glared at him and turned back to the door and roughly pulled it open. He was startled for a moment by Mina's presence on the other side, the others right behind her.
"Just the man we've come to see." Mina said pushing Albert back towards Henry who growled when Albert got too close to him. Albert gave him a look then stepped away from Henry, his back to the rail.

Aurora surfaced at the rear of the ship and pulled herself closer to it gasping for air and getting a mouth full of water. She reached up and pulled herself higher and winced slightly. She looked down at her right leg and growled. Something had cut her thigh as she was sucked under the ship.
“I’m going to kill him.” She said out loud to herself as she climbed up higher. She looked over the rear of the ship to the watch deck and glared. Everyone was standing there facing Albert and she could tell Mina was saying something to him. Albert however had his back to her and she slid down to the top of the ship and began to walk towards the deck. She was quite a few feet below the deck and no one would see her coming but she was far too upset to even care at the moment.

“A woman can tell when someone is happy.” Mina was saying but paused as she looked over Albert’s shoulder. “And she’s not happy.” Mina took a step back and Albert turned. Aurora was standing behind him dripping wet and her green eyes were blazing with fire.
“A-Aurora.” Albert stuttered slightly taking a step back.
“I’m going to make you regret ever crossing me Albert. I’m going to teach you the meaning of pain. I’ll show you just how much a man can live through, and when you are on the very edge of death itself, I’m going to pull you back again and again. And when you are on your knees, crying and begging me, I will show you no mercy.” Aurora stepped closer to Albert with every sentence, hate and rage rolling off of her like water. Albert was scared, and no one moved to stop Aurora from doing whatever it was she was planning to do. Albert stumbled and fell to the deck. Aurora stood over him as he crawled away from her but ran out of room when he came to Allan’s feet. “I could ride you at a gallop until you knees buckled and your eyes rolled up. I have muscles you’ve never even dreamed of. I could squeeze you till you popped like warm champagne and you’d beg me to hurt you just a little bit more. And do you know why I don’t?” Aurora asked and Albert blinked at her swallowing hard. Everyone jumped as Aurora moved quickly slamming a knife into the deck between Albert’s thighs making him go pale. “Because it’s wrong.” Albert swallowed hard and slowly raised his eyes from where the knife narrowly missed him to Aurora's hate filled eyes then squeaked and promptly fainted. Aurora blinked and looked at him then growled. “You were never the one for danger where you Albert?” She pulled her knife out of the deck and stood, slipping it back up her sleeve and then looked at Allan. “Skinner?” She asked and Allan shook his head. Then glanced down at Albert.
“What do you want to do with him?” Allan asked nudging Albert with a toe.
“Leave him.” Aurora said turning away from him. She looked over her shoulder at Nemo and smiled. “I don’t suppose we could dive could we?” She asked him and Nemo just smiled.
“What happened?” Sawyer asked looking over Aurora carefully.
“Oh you know, it’s such a warm day that I decided to go for a nice refreshing swim.” Aurora said flatly.
“What happened to your leg?” Allan asked her as she turned to the open door.
“My leg?” She asked then looked down and moved her coat slightly exposing the large gash. “Oh. I’m not quite sure actually, must have happened when I got sucked under the Nautilus.” Allan looked at it for a moment the turned slightly to his right.
“Jekyll.” He said and Henry came over and bent down with him and examined her leg.
“Not to serious.” Henry said touching it softly. “Might only need a couple of stitches.”
“Stitches?” Aurora asked swallowing hard. “As in with needles and thread?” Henry looked up at her then glanced at Allan.
“Yes Aurora, as in a needle and thread.” Henry said and Allan stood quickly.
“Mmmm.” Aurora said before fainting. Allan caught her round the waist and sighed.
“The only bloody thing that gets to her is needles.” He said to the confused looks on the faces around him, putting his arm under her knees and picking her up.
“Needles?” Mina asked looking at Aurora.
“Ever since she was almost impaled by a rack of them when she was twelve she hasn’t done very well around them, unless of course she’s in control of them.” Allan said with a sigh and going through the door.

“Put her on the table there.’ Henry directed as they walked into his room and he went over to grab his medical bag. Allan laid Aurora down on the table and motioned to Sawyer.
“Take that leg boy; it’ll be hell to pay if she wakes up while Jekyll is sewing her up.” Sawyer nodded and gripped her left leg around her knee. Henry went to her right pulling up a chair and looked at her thigh.
“Shouldn’t take too long.” He commented placing her foot between his legs and pulling a needle out of his bag. Allan looked down at Aurora as she laid unconscious, holding onto her shoulders as Henry quickly stitched up her leg. “Just let me put a bandage on it and we’re done.” Henry was saying when Aurora’s eyes snapped open.
She jerked and Allan let her shoulders go and she quickly sat up startling everyone and her arm hitting the case of formula. Henry quickly reached out and steadied it before it toppled and Mina stepped back into Dorian who had to grab her shoulders to keep himself from falling backwards.
“Let her go boy! Let her go!’ Allan yelled to Sawyer before Aurora had a chance to kick at him. Henry turned his head and closed his eyes tight waiting for pain to shoot through his body but the pain never came. He slowly opened his eyes and looked down.
“Thank you for not moving your foot.” Henry said softly and Aurora looked over at him. Then she looked down at her leg and softly touched the small stitches. Henry pulled a bandage out of his bag and placed it carefully on her leg as Aurora looked over at the now open case.
“Henry?” She asked and he glanced up at her then back to her leg.
“It’ll be fine. Shouldn’t scar too badly in fact.”
“You’re missing a vial.” Aurora said ignoring Henry and he snapped his attention over to the case. He ran his hand over the vials and then looked around at the others.
“She’s right.” He said and Allan grunted.
“Skinner.” Sawyer said crossing his arms.
“Who else?” Dorian stated and everyone looked at Aurora.
“I can’t sense him.” She said softly. “It’s like he’s no longer on the ship.”
“Are you sure?” Nemo asked and Aurora nodded. He turned and left the room calling for Ishmael, his first mate.
“The scoundrel.” Mina said growling and Aurora jumped off the table.
“We’ll catch up with Skinner.” She said testing her weight on her right leg. “We’re nearly upon Venice.” They all looked at her for a moment and Aurora smiled. “I can hear a festival of some kind.” She said simply.
