She smiled and yelled over the thumping music, “Hey.”
“C’mon and dance with me.” Stephanie knew she should have said no, but she didn’t. She smiled and danced with him. When the song was over Stephanie started back towards the table, “Oh come on, one more song.” A.J. begged
Stephanie laughed, “No, c’mon.” A.J. huffed and started to follow her back to the table with a “Fine.”
“Hey Steph, how’s it goin?” Nick asked as they walked up
Stephanie glared at Nick, he knew she hated to be called Steph. He grinned at her, knowing he was irritating her. “Hi guys.” Stephanie greeted the bunch as she pulled up a chair. A.J. slid into a chair next to Courtney with a huff, but nobody paid any attention. They chatted for a few minutes before A.J. dragged Jessie onto the dance floor, and Brian and Courtney left.
Brandi nudged Stephanie and nodded towards the door, “Look whose here.”
Stephanie looked up and saw a couple of the guys from NSYNC walk in and looked around. “Oh great, this should be fun.” Brandi only nodded in agreement.
The night went on and they all were having fun. Stephanie was dancing with A.J. when someone started to cut in, “Excuse me.” He yelled over his shoulder to A.J. Stephanie looked up to see Justin Timberlake smiling down at her. It took only seconds to figure out that A.J. was more than pissed.
“Excuse yourself.” A.J. spat back
“I just want to dance with the lady.”
“Well, the lady doesn’t want to dance with you.”
“She might.” Justin said crossing his arms
“She doesn’t.” A.J. answered
“Guys, chill.” Stephanie said standing between them.
Seconds later Kevin appeared at her side, “What’s wrong?”
Justin and A.J. starred at each other coldly. “I was just about to dance with Justin, that’s all.” Stephanie answered.
A.J. starred at her in disbelief, and Justin smiled. Kevin nodded and turned to follow A.J., who was stomping back to the table. Stephanie danced with Justin, smiling at his complete arrogance. By the time she made it back to the table A.J. was blowing smoke out of his ears, “WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!?” He about screamed in her face.
“Because, he wasn’t going to leave me alone, and I was hoping you would be mature enough to deal with it!” Stephanie yelled back.
Kevin told them both to be quiet and sit down. They both did, and sat glaring at each other. Brandi talked Howie into leaving because JC wouldn’t stop winking at her. Kevin and Laura left soon after, saying good night and warning Nick and A.J. about getting into trouble. It took a long time, but Stephanie finally got Nick out on the floor, “Hey, you’re not that bad.” She said smiling.
“Yes, I am.” Nick moaned.
Jessie pushed thru the people, “Stephanie!”
Stephanie turned, “What?”
“It’s A.J. Justin is trying to start something, and it’s working.” They all looked at each other, and turned to make their way thru the crowd
