“Good Morning beautiful.”
She smiled when she heard Howie’s voice, “I sweetie, what’s up?”
“Well, I was just sitting here thinking, ‘I should call my girl’ so, that’s what I am doing.”
Brandi giggled, “You are so weird.”
“No, I am in love, with the most gorgeous girl in the world,” Howie said dramatically, “Have you eaten breakfast yet?”
“No, but I was about to.”
“I thought I might take you out for breakfast.”
Brandi opened the refrigerator and pulled out a carton of eggs, “I was planning on making one of my world famous omelets. How about you just come over and join me for breakfast?”
“Hmmmm,” Howie pretended to think about it for a moment, “Okay, I’ll be over in a minute.”
Brandi grinned, “I figured you would say that. See you in a minute.” She hung up the phone and starting making breakfast.

Kevin looked at the note for several minutes before bawling it up and throwing it across the room. He could not believe this was happening.
Jessie unlocked the front door and walked into Kevin’s house. She had come back to get her stuff while he was out of town. She dropped her stuff on the couch in the living room as she made her way to the stairs. She walked down the hall and into the guest bedroom she used. She started gathering her things when she heard a noise. She stopped what she was doing and listened for a minute. When she didn’t hear anything else, she continued gathering her things. She was walking back down the hall with an armload of stuff when she walked past Kevin’s door and stopped. The bed was unmade and cloths were all over the floor. She shook her head as she walked down stairs and dropped her stuff on the couch with her bag, and then headed back upstairs to clean up Kevin’s mess. She walked into the room and began picking the cloths up. She laid several shirts over the chair by the door and went to make the bed. She was so wrapped up in what she was doing that she didn’t even see Kevin walk out of the bathroom in only his jeans, “What are you doing?” he asked
Jessie jumped, and let out a little yelp, “What are you doing here?!?”
Kevin looked at her, then at the bed, which was half made, and then at her, “I live here, what are you doing here?”
“You are suppose to be in New York City,” Jessie said turning around and walking out of the room.
Kevin followed her, grabbing a T-shirt off of the chair on his way out, “I didn’t go.”
Jessie made her way into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, “and why not? I thought you and Laura needed your ‘quality time’.”
Kevin rolled his eyes at the way Jessie said ‘quality time’, “Well, we broke up.”
Jessie stopped and turned around, shutting the refrigerator, “She dump you?”
Kevin’s jaw dropped a little, “How did you know?”
“Honey, you were so in to her it was obvious to everybody,” Jessie answered pulling the flour out from below the counter.
Kevin watched as she walked around the kitchen and gathered several ingredients, “What are you doing?”
Jessie picked the measuring cups out of the drawer, “I’m making pancakes, you hungry?”
“Um, yeah, I guess so.”
Jessie stopped and leaned against the counter, “You want to talk about it?”
Kevin thought for a minute, “No, but thanks.”
“No problemo babe, it’s all in the job description.”
Kevin walked off towards the Living room, “What job description would that be?”
“Best friend of course,” Jessie answered and then sighed, “the role I hate,” she finished with a whisper

Stephanie held the phone and leaned against the counter, “Hello?” came Megan’s voice as she picked up after a couple rings.
“Hey,” Stephanie whispered
“Where are you?” Megan asked, wondering where her friend had disappeared too.
“I’m at Nick’s.”
Megan tried to sound as normal as possible when she asked, “And why are you at Nick’s?”
“We needed to talk about some stuff,” Stephanie answered, knowing that Megan was mad.
“Well, A.J. called twice this morning wondering where you were.”
“Oh, he did?” Stephanie asked twisting the phone cord around her finger, “Did he say anything else?”
“Nope, just asked for you, and when I told him you weren’t here he asked where you were.”
“Okay, well, I need to go, I’ll be home in a bit.”
“Sure, whatever,” Megan answered. She hung up the phone and stomped her foot, “OH, AT TIMES I HATE THAT GIRL!!”
