Part 10

Stephanie laughed as Nick as he did an impression of A.J. getting mad, “He doesn’t look quite like that.”

“Oh yes he does,” Nick took a bite of his sandwich, “You still haven’t told me your unfinished business.”

“Don’t talk with your mouth full, it’s nasty,” Stephanie said from where she sat of the counter. They had talked for a long time and then went into the kitchen to get some sandwiches. Now, Stephanie sat on the counter, and Nick was leaning against it.

“You mean you don’t want to see my food?”

“No, I don’t.”

“Really? Like this?” Nick opened his mouth that was full of chewed up sandwich.

Stephanie smacked him upside the head, “You are sick”

Nick choked on his sandwich and then swallowed, “You are going to kill me.”

“Do you remember when A.J. and I broke up, and then you asked me out?”

Nick started laughing, “I didn’t see anything wrong with it, but you got so pissed.”

“Then I pushed you into the pool.” Stephanie laughed as she remembered, “The look on Megan and Brian’s faces was so funny.”

Nick rolled his eyes, “I didn’t find it that amusing.”

Stephanie laughed, “Sorry”

“Sure you are!”

They both laughed, “Well, okay, maybe I’m not THAT sorry.”

“You still haven’t told me why I am your unfinished business.”

Stephanie didn’t say anything and nick began to lean towards her to kiss her, “No, Nick, don’t.”

He stood up, “Why not?”

“It’s not what you think Nick.”

“Oh, and what do I think?”

“You are probably thinking we are meant to be together, and we’re not.”

Nick crossed his arms, “Who says?”

“Destiny”

Nick crossed his arms, “I still love you.”

“Nick, stop it! You don’t love me.”

“Like you would know!”

“Nick, don’t you see? You can’t love me!”

“Why the hell not?!”

“Because we are not meant to be, we will only get hurt if we try it.”

Nick leaned in a kissed her, “That’s a risk I am willing to take,” he breathed pulling away slowly.
