Forever And Always

When we're together
Time stands still
When we're apart
It takes years to rejoin
So don't leave
Stay here by my side

Watch as the leaves get brown
As the trees get old and die
As the neighbors grow up and move out

Listen as the wind blows through the trees
As our hearts beat as one
As the wind whispers in your ear
As I say I love you
Forever and Always

Forever us

Come take my hand and walk with me
Share my likes . . . my wishes . . . my life
Don't judge me . . . just love me
Except me for who I am
For if I try to change for you
Then you'll no longer know me
As I am no longer happy with whom I am
Always remember where we are going
So you don't forget where we have been
If we hold on to each other's hearts
And taste each other's rainbows
The sun will shine
The flowers will bloom
The world will dance around us
And we will remain forever us

If Only I Had You

You know those tropical flowers with the long names?
They wouldn't have to bloom and summer wouldn't have to creep closer in
June,
And the long days wouldn't have to turn and the sun it wouldn't have to
burn,
And no the sky wouldn't have to shine blue… if only I had you.

No longer must the green grass grow or rivers flow,
And honestly, there doesn't have to be any rainbows.
If only I had you the world can go do whatever, wherever,
Because we're finally together...  but the rain doesn't have to fall

The moon doesn't have to scream and beam across the night,
And nothing has to be wrong and nothing has to feel right,
If only I had you the world could finally stop spinning
And my dead end road would finally have a new beginning

It Happened Overnight

Our love happened so very fast
These years later I know it would last
Your beauty, wisdom, and wit come thru,
Every time my eyes get a glimpse of you

You read me, and treat me like gold
Feelings like that will never grow old
I wake to your smile and I get thrills
Just your smile it gives me chills

Your love is the ocean where I want to be
Nothing at all means as much too me
I savor the days that I make you smile
They are the ones I keep all the while

My only hope is that your love won't end
Your not only my wife, you're my best friend
You understand me in bad times too
Just one more thing I love about you.

I'll be here today, and be here tomorrow
With you by my side I won't feel any sorrow
So stay with me as we move thru life
Me as your husband, and you as my wife.

Gathering Our Love Tonight

Gather your arms around me, baby.
You won't have to feel lonely tonight.
I'll make you calm; dissolve all your maybe's.
You'll find you and me, us, is so right.
Gather your love to share with me, baby.
I know that things sometimes seem sad,
So when we're apart and in need of each other,
We'll look back on this night that we had.

Open your eyes and look at me, baby.
I'll show you in mine how I feel.
Then close up your eyes once again and lay back,
As we start to make both our dreams real.
Float in your dreams as I watch you sleep, baby,
As I push back the sleep, as I fight,
And with that I draw close, and I sleep holding you -
Gather 'round as I love you tonight.

Rushing

I can not proclaim my love for thee in a thousand speeches
I can not show you... no matter how wide mine arm reaches
I can not kiss you enough times or write enough rhyming lines
To ever prove to you how deep and sincere I really am

Someday I hope that you will at least try to understand
That I can't love you enough...each day I try to out-do the other
It's like all the moments I spend with you are competing with one another
I feel as though I am rushing to love you, and I'm over-anxious

I find myself racing a mile a minute with my feet staying still
I can truly say that mine heart hath no more spaces to be filled
It is consumed of you and only you from wall to wall
And only in my wildest dreams could I ever deserve it all

So Far Away, Yet Always Close

So far away...
the beaches which you walk.

Yet so close...
always in my heart.

So far away...
I cannot touch your hand,
I cannot feel your breath,
I cannot hold you close.

Yet so close...
I can feel you in my heart,
I can see you in my mind,
I can hear you in my ears.

You can go so far away...
You can travel to the ends of the earth...

But as long as I have your love...
As long as I have you...
You will always be close.

For,
As sure as the sun rises,
And the tides will change,
I will always love you,
An you will always be close to my heart.

Soul Mates In Love

As I sit and think of you,
Knowing my feelings are shared by two,
You and I feel good together,
A love I hope we share forever.

I see others make love seem hard -
They hurt each other, its in their cards.
Their love is not honest and sincere,
Like our love we hold so dear.

As I think of times ahead,
Separation by death is what I dread,
For I love you with all my heart,
And from you I can't bear to part.

Shawn, my wonderful husband and soul mate for life,
I love you, sweetheart.

You're The One For Me

You're the one for me.
Your eyes are like fire on a cold winter's day
Your soul burns within me
Your touch blossoms my innermost passions
And your voice melts my heart.

You're the one for me.
You are the key to unlocking
My most sacred fantasies.
You're the one for me,
The one that wakens me
When I'm at my deepest sleep
With your passionate ways,
The one that rivets me with
Your beautiful, unique face.

You're the one for me.
You are the one that I want to share
My life, my love with for all eternity.
I will love you always and forever.

You're the one for me.

CATCH A FALLING STAR

Catch a falling Star; hold it if you can
And with all your might, hold it in your hand
Slowly bring it inward, Carful not too hard
Feel it up against you,  now YOU are the Guard
Protect it from the darkness, It;s flame so very bright
Don't you dare release it, hold it very tight
You know what happens don't you? When stars fall from the sky?
They disappear so quickly, there's no time for good-bye.
So catch this falling star; hold it if you can
and with all your might, hold it in your hand
Feel it up against you, tightly now with care
Slowly let it go, and place it back up there
Here you go.

LEAVING MY BODY

She's light as a feather in fast floating air
She's lifted with ease and shutters up there
Too bad for the rest, because they'll never know
Whatever she does, is really for show

She looks down so careful, try not to disturb
What little is left, and say not a word
If she wispers the words, she may get to stay
But say them too loudly, She's back all the way

What happened to her, she looks so depressed?
She has tears in her eyes, and blood on her dress
Her sparkle is gone, her expression is tight.
Can she really be there, is she really all right?

Still light as a feather and thinner than air
I shutter to think what I'm doing down there.
Too bad for the rest, they never can know
Whatever I do, is really for show.

LITTLE MAN

Your dark brown eyes, your chestnut hair
Your little button nose pointed high in the air
Remember the time, you were afraid of the dark?
you ran in my room, then Sam had to bark
You cuddled up close, and were dreadfully scared
Afraid to let go, your nostrils were flared?

I remember your knees, with the scrapes from your fall
Your heart all in pieces, but all in all
You were braver than most and more determined than some
You stood there with pride, the race you had won
You made every moment, so precious and treasured
My love for you, will go on unmeasured

Remember the nights, I tickled your back?
We lost track of time, when you hit the sack
We laughed and we yelled, we prayed and we wept
We had midnight snacks, when everyone slept
you've grown up too quickly, you're my pride and joy
They'll call you a man, but your still my little boy.

MY GARDEN

Come into my garden, there's cobwebs all around
Too much to remember, every little sound
So much to account for, little did I know
That in my little garden, nothing ever grows

Come into my garden, See what's wrong with me
You will never guess, you will never see
I will plant the seeds, which never will take root
'cause in this little garden, he is too astute

He knows where seeds have fallen, he knows what's wrong with me
he counts them every one; he'll never let me be
He watches me so closely; he knows my every thought
Cause in my little garden, this is where we fought

He tempted me with sunshine, he said that I would grow
He didn't tell me everything, and now today I know
That in this little garden, Something specail here was lost
And I will never find it, no matter what the cost.

WIND IN MY HAIR

I hardly noticed, when the sun went down
Clock on the wall, spun round and round
Twinkle the stars, the moon with its glare
Movement around me, wind in my hair

Circle of light, off in the distance
My tired mind, offered little Resistance
Sweeping softy, gentle wings in the air
Lifting me further, with a whimsical flare

Clouds turn to satin, my body to wear
Rain to my lips, as I thirst up there
Closer and closer, as I go toward the light
My atonement plenty, I continue my flight

Great bodies of water now everywhere
So many pebbles, it holds down there
A voice gently whispers, drop your worries down there
And I float back so lightly, with the wind in my hair

FROM WHERE I LAY

Raindrops dripping, so soft the sound
Drops of light all around
Shadows dancing on my walls
Morning sun softly calls
Waking to a brand new day
Hope surrounding, from where I lay

Clock is ticking, sounds so strange
An hour has past and nothings changed
Voices from the other room
Are you coming down? (It's still too soon)
Smell coffee brewing, far away
My legs are stiff, from where I lay

Another chance, to rise and shine
Light dances from the mini blinds
Another tick, tock tick, tick tock,
Annoying noises from my clock
Another hour has passed my way
The day is moving, from where I lay

So familiar now, this old routine
Same as yesterday, or so it seems
I should get up and wash my hair
Brush my teeth, but I just stare
I remember now, it's Saturday,
Sleep comes to me from where I lay

IN HIS TIME

To travel great distance, no water to quench
Unsure of what's waiting in the next trench
Muddy waters, dead pastures, and steep hills to climb
He'll show you his mercy, in his own time

A knife in your heart, wounds to deep to heal
Unsure of its origin, impending doom to seal
Words like razors, your self worth to unwind
He will heal your soul, in his own time

Wind round and round, a road with no end
No signs to guide you, hope lost 'round that bend
Exploding in doubt, a path yet to find
A light he will send you, in his own time

I'm ready you say, for that time that you speak of
I've suffered and waited, for your forgiveness and love
You promised no burden to heavy to bear
In my own time I came, and you were there.

MY BEST FRIEND

You listened to me, when no one else would
You cared for me, when no one else could
You told me I was normal, though I was not
Your carried me, your legs I had sought
Your prayers for me to God you would send
How treasured you are, My Best Friend

You helped me remember, that I have worth
Created by God, Blessed from birth
You worked on my heart, not letting me quit
You helped bring me back, bit by bit
Held my hand, while my soul's on the mend
How steady and wise, My Best Friend

No words could ever express, your faithfulness
Times they were troubled, in such distress
Still, your hand I could feel, your prayers in my mind
My pitiful state, you help to unwind
How blessed I am, your love to me lend
My sister, my confidant, My Best Friend

KEEP YOUR DOOR OPEN

To walk not with sorrow, To dwell not of loss
I kneel down and pray, at the foot of that cross
I reach for your hand, and earnestly pray
To guide and direct me, keep Satan away

My soul seeks your solace, from unwanted pain
And teach me dear Lord, not to complain
Though I grow so weary with the weight of my load
Help me search for your peace at the end of my road

Send no winter to freeze me, trade sickness for health
No gold for my pockets, let your word be my wealth
Help me seek you more often, and praise you much more
And help me dear Lord; keep open your door

I THE BRIDE, YOU THE GROOM

I smell the cologne on your shirt by the bed
Songs you've sung to me, dance in my head
I close my eyes, and imagine too
Your kiss to me and me to you
Hand in hand, as your eyes met mine
We toasted our 50th, with bittersweet wine

And oh how your eyes, would sparkle and shine
The crease in your smile, my hand you would find
The walk up the stairs, as we entered our room
Lit fierce with fire, your bride, my groom
How sweet your caress, How gentle your touch,
I see it so clearly, I still feel so much

Oh a story you'd tell, when the grandkids would come
They'd run to your side, one by one
You could spin a tall tale, and all would believe
That you were the king, in that story you'd weave
Not a whisper was heard, no not a sound,
The kids held so captive, as they sat on the ground

Now the rocker is empty, where you brightened this room
I the bride and you the groom
My heart broke with yours, when you grabbed your chest
My soul went with yours, when they laid you to rest
Closing my eyes, in my bed you will be
By my side you are still, lying with me.

BACK AND FORTH

Back and forth the old man walks
Across the room, from the antique clock
Looking out from eyes grown old
The sign on the lawn, "this old house sold"
The slamming door from times gone by
He wipes the tears from eye to eye

He kissed her lips, over the thresh hold carry
The love of his life, to him she did marry
So young they were, many years ago
A lifetime together, forever they'd sow
The walls they are old, but his heart is still new
They can pack up this house, but no memories undo

Still on this day, the old man remembers
The years with his love and the burning embers
The gentle way she could calm any storm
As she lay in his arms, and he kept her warm
Though she's gone on ahead, to the heavens above
Still back and forth, he walks with his love

THE TREE IN THE HOLLOW

There's a tree in the hollow that shades the land
They meet there on Sunday's, hand in hand
Words not need spoken, as they lay in the grass
Closing their eyes, through their hearts love does pass

Their days filled with dreaming, soon they will wed
A future of love, and children ahead
A life filled with sunshine, and love with no end
And this, their passion, God's blessing to them

He waits in the hollow, his heart racing fast
A ring for her finger, he will give her at last
He looks to the sun, her smile on his mind
Forever at last, all the waiting behind

Now day turns to night and heavy's his heart
She's been sent away, a fresh new start
Her father has plans for this once bride to be
And he waits in the hollow, by the old shade tree

THE SOFTER SIDE OF ME

This face of mine holds many expressions
My eyes are full of deep confessions
And if ever you ever, kissed hard my lips
You'd remember forever, I'm hard to dismiss

My heart is as true, as the bluest of skies
And the stars they are shinning on the green of my eyes
A touch of the moon, sent to rest in my smile
And the softness of sunshine, on my skin for awhile

And if I recall, I've developed good humor
My laugh is infectious, or so it is rumored
And so left to wonder, and wonder I do
My gifts took for granted, all I've given to you
