I stopped, and Megan looked up. She was sitting on a hospital bed with an icepack against the side of her face. I walked over and that’s when I noticed Brian standing a few feet off, “What happened?”
Brian looked up, “We got into a wreck.”
“A wre….” Stephanie stopped and looked at Megan
“Yeah, he let me drive…I didn’t see the stop sign.”
“Oh no…”
“What?” Brian asked, “Why are you here anyway?”
Stephanie pointed behind her, “Well, ahh, umm, hold on a second. I’ll be right back.” Before they could say anything Stephanie walked off.
She walked back into the room where Howie and Brandi were still waiting, “Did you find the nurse?” Nick asked
“huh?”
“Did you find the nurse?”
“Oh, um, no.”
“What’s wrong?” Nick asked
“Um, I need to talk to you outside for a minute.” Stephanie glanced at A.J., he didn’t look at her
Nick followed her out into the hallway, “What’s up?”
“Megan is the one that hit Howie.”
“WHAT?”
“Come on, they are over here.” She turned and lead Nick to where Brian and Megan still waited
Megan no longer had the icepack and the black eye was noticeable, “Omigosh! Megan, are you alright?” Nick asked
She smiled, “Just shaken, but thank you.”
It hit Nick then, what had happened, “You mean, you are the one that totaled Howie’s vett?!?”
Brian and Megan’s mouths fell open, “WHAT?!?” They both yelled in unison
“You didn’t know?” Nick asked looking at both of them
“I hit Howie?” Megan asked starting to cry
“How could you guys not know?” Stephanie asked
“Megan hit her head on the steering wheel and was unconscience. I came with her in the ambulance.”
Nick ran his hand thru his hair, “Okay, you guys just get out of here before anybody puts the pieces together.”
Megan slid off the bed and both she and Brian went to check out
Nick and Stephanie, they both sighed and headed back only to find Brandi and Howie leaving to check out, “Where are you guys going?” Nick asked
“Leaving.” Howie answered
“But you can’t.” Stephanie started
A.J. looked at them, “I don’t know what kinda stuff you guys have been smoking, but they have been checked out and now they are leaving.”
Nick looked over his shoulder and saw Brian, “But…”
Before he could finish a girls shriek filled the air, “BRIAN!”
Howie, A.J. and Brandi looked around, “Oh look, it’s Brian McKnight..” Stephanie said trying to cover
All of a sudden their were shrieks of, “NICK!” “OMG! A.J. I LOVE YOU!” and “HOWIE D!”
Stephanie saw Brian and Megan running for an exit as A.J. yelled, “RUN!”
