Megan and Brian sat on the couch watching a basketball game. “Do you think we should check them?” Brian asked
Megan thought for a moment, “I guess.” Brian looked at her, and Megan looked back at him, “Do we have to get up?”
Brian laughed and kissed her, “I think we have to sweetie.”
Megan sighed, “Alright.”
They got up and went there separate ways. Within 15 minutes they were both back on the coach, “She refuses to talk.”
“So does he.” Brian sighed
“They are acting like little kids.” Megan mumbled
“Are they acting?” Brian asked with a smirk
Megan hit him in the arm, “You are so mean.”

Nick finally came out of his room, his stomach was growling, and he was in search of some food. He walked into the kitchen and glanced at the clock, it was 11:45, no wonder he was hungry. He stopped when he saw Stephanie sitting at the bar with some of the leftover Chinese food, “Did you eat all of it?”
“No.” she answered taking another bite
“Can I have some?”
“Sure.”
Nick sat down and took one of the cartons from her. They ate in silence for a long time before Nick mumbled, “Sorry.”
Stephanie looked at him, “About what?”
“I shouldn’t have said anything.”
“About?”
Nick glared at her, “About you and A.J.”
“No problem.” Stephanie shrugged, “I was mad, and you didn’t help any.”
“Well, I was happy, and should have been sympathetic.”
Stephanie hit him in the arm, “Jerk.”
“We have already been thru this once.”
“I was just reminding you, that’s all.”
“Oh, thanks.”
“No problem buddy.”
“Are you going shopping with A.J. tomorrow?”
“Yep.”
“Do I have any chance in hell?”
Stephanie grinned, “Maybe, but I’m not telling.”

Stephanie was up and ready by 9. She was in the kitchen making breakfast when Nick came stumbling in. His hair was messed up and she could tell he was not coherent, “Good Morning.” He mumbled something as he walked towards the refrigerator. He picked up the carton of orange juice, “You do know if you drink out of that I will beat you over the head with this spatula.”
Nick glared at her and then shuffled to the cabinet to get a glass, “What are you making?”
“Pancakes.”
“Smells good.”
“Thanks.”
“I thought you were going out with A.J. today.”
“I am, he should be here in a little while.”
Nick sat down on one of the barstools, “Can I have some of those?”
“Yeah, sure. How many do you want?”
“I don’t know, 8.”
“8? I don’t think so.”
“I’m serious. Hey, I’m a hungry guy ya know.”
Stephanie rolled her eyes, “I hadn’t noticed.” When a few of them were done she put them on a plate and handed them to Nick. Moments later, the door bell rang, “I’ll get it, it’s A.J.” She walked to the front door and opened it.
Sure enough it was A.J., but there was a girl with him, “Hey chic!” He said kissing her on the cheek and walking in, “Where’s B-Rok?”
“Um, he hasn’t gotten up yet.” Stephanie said looking back at him as he walked thru the house and back at the girl who was standing on the porch.
She smiled, “Hi, I’m Jessie. You must be Stephanie, A.J. has told me a lot about you.”
Stephanie gave her a fake smile, “I wish I could say the same about you, come in.” They walked thru the house to find A.J. sitting next to Nick eating.
“These are really good, did you make them?” He asked as the girls entered
“Yes.” Stephanie answered pouring more batter into the skillet, “Would you like some?” she asked Jessie.
“Oh, no, thank you.”
“Can I get you anything to drink? Orange Juice, water, anything?”
“I’ll take a bottled water if you have one.”
Stephanie opened the refrigerator, pulled out a bottle, and handed it to Jessie who thanked her. Nick finished what he had on his plate and lifted it in Stephanie’s direction. She looked at him blankly, “Please.” He mumbled.
She smiled and put another pancake on his plate, “Oh, I forgot. Guys this is Jessie. Jess, this is Nick and Stephanie.”
Jessie smiled at Nick, “Hi.” He made a grunting nose as he nodded.
Stephanie hit him upside the head, “Ouch. Hi.” He said glaring in her direction.
