Megan came back to their room rather late. She and Brian had hung out at McDonalds for awhile and then had gone to see a late night movie, which wasn’t the smartest thing to do since the guys had an early call time. She found Stephanie asleep, and was quite as she got into bed. It seemed like she had just closed her eyes when she heard the alarm go off. She groaned and rolled over, “Are you going to the shoot?” Stephanie asked Megan mumbled something and Stephanie took that as a no. She got into the shower and quickly got dressed. She went down stairs to the hotel dinning room and found Howie sitting alone at a table. “Can I join you?” she asked walking up.
“Of course, good morning.”
“Thanks.”
She sat down and asked Howie for the sports section of the paper he was reading. Howie obliged and they sat in silence for several minutes before a waitress appeared and asked Stephanie if she would like anything to drink. Stephanie ordered a glass of juice and a blueberry muffin and then asked Howie, “Is Brandi coming?”
“She was tired so she’s coming later.”
“Tired? Long night?”
Howie’s turning red was answer enough for Stephanie. She laughed, “Maybe she can just come with Megan.”
“Meg’s not coming?”
“She was out late last night….she didn’t want to get up.”
“I’ll leave a note at the desk for Brandi, remind me okay?”
“Okay.”
Stephanie was reading an article and didn’t see Nick walk up. He sat down without saying a word, it was when Stephanie put the paper down to ask Howie if he had talked to A.J. that she saw him. She didn’t say anything and neither did he. Howie, however, witnessed something, what it was he couldn’t say. “D, can I have he sport’s section?” Nick asked
“Stephanie ha…”
“Here, I’m done with it.” She finished
“Thanks.”
Howie looked from one to the other but nobody said anything. It was only a couple minutes later before Kevin joined them as well. “We have to leave in 10 minutes, anyone talked to A.J.?” He asked on sitting down.
Everyone seemed to look at Stephanie and she just shrugged, “He was drunk, but I set his alarm, he should be down here in a minute.”
“Leave it to A.J. to get wasted a night before a shoot.” Howie said
“I haven’t seen Brian either.” Nick commented
“He’s on his way down, I saw him just a minute ago.” Kevin answered
Sure enough a few minutes later A.J. walked thru the door with Brian following him. A.J. bent down and kissed Stephanie, “Morning beautiful, hey guys.”
The guys all mumbled a morning of some sort and A.J. pulled up a chair next to Stephanie, and Brian sat down next to Nick. The guys were talking about the day that lay ahead when A.J. leaned over and whispered, “I’m sorry I got wasted. I don’t remember anything. I didn’t do anything stupid did I?”
Stephanie smiled, “Not anything out of the ordinary.”
“Hey!” A.J. retorted
Stephanie laughed and glanced up to find Nick watching her. She looked at him for a minute but then looked down. She couldn’t handle the hurt look he had on his face. Kevin announced that it was time to go. Howie went to the front desk to leave a note for Brandi, Brian went to get something out of his room and A.J. went to find his mother. They all seemed to disperse and leave Stephanie there with Nick. She didn’t say anything for a minute, “Nick, I’m sorry.” She walked off to find Kevin and ask him if Laura was coming before Nick could reply.
