Software

EditPad A solid text editor Here's a free text editing program from Belgium that makes a fine replacement for Windows' crummy Notepad. Although there are similar programs that are more feature-laden, EditPad is a solid, crash-free program that loads quickly. It offers filters, text conversions, access to last 16 files opened, MAPI support (for E-mailing text) and more. In fact, the only thing EditPad lacks is a "favorites" feature. Oh well, perhaps in a future edition, it'll be included! Review taken from The Freesite Newsletter Put Subscribe in the body.

NextPad Replace Windows 95's Notepad with NextPad.Opens up text files of unlimited size; features search-and-replace; toolbar and status bar; lets you specify font, background color, and file filter options; loads quickly; & lets you use 'Ctrl-A' to select all text, a command Microsoft left out of Notepad for some strange reason.
Eudora Lite Email Service. Mac or Windows This is NOT lite. You can easily filter out junk mail and send email to separate mailboxes and folders within them. The address books can be sorted (easily find one address from 2000). Checks/sends mail automatically per your settings. It is said this is the #1 program out there by most I've read. Attachments, redirecting (a message comes back - but you want to try again and get rid of all those headers - automatic!); able to edit messages and subjects for easy finding before you file them in a folder. Terrific!
Pure Voice gives you "spoken Email" Takes up 1/10 the space of .wav files. Quick installation. Go ahead, let your grandparents hear the new baby without a phone call. Just include the Pure Voice internet address in your email so they can get hooked up. VERY clear sound. Better than the phone internet stuff. Send me a Pure Voice email so I can hear what you're thinking about Scripture memory.

Internetmeter Close your internet connection but forget to close your phone connection? No more! Spend 1 hour online, but fear you spend lots of it going to other programs (copying info to your phone book, looking up things, setting up a recent download etc) and "waste" your time online.
