I have been try to find the name of the artist who had a song called
"Patches" and am hoping you might be able to help me. I bought a 45 of this
song back in the late 60's but don't know when the record/song actually came
out. a Wishlist Viewer has a copy for sale
One of the problems I've been having is there appears there is more than one
song by that title. The one I'm looking for is about a young man who falls
in love with a girl from 'the wrong side of the tracks'. His family finds
out and forces him to give her up and won't allow him to ever speak to her
again. After not hearing from him for a long time, she commits suicide by
jumping into the river. At the end, he decides he'll jump in as well so they
can be together once more?
If possible, I would like to know (1) the name of the artist, (2) where I
might be able to purchase a copy of this song and (3) where I might be able
to download this song.
