Chapter Three

Later that day…

“So, Kevin, what do you think you’ll be doing ten years from now?” Allie asked, in her most professional tone. Kevin cracked up. Kevin was there by himself for an interview for the book.

“Honestly, Allie, you don’t have to act like that. We’re friends, we know each other!”

“Well, this is my first big BIG job that the publishing house had trusted me with, and I want to do a good job.”

“Trust me, honey, you will! You’re a good author, I’ve seen your stuff!”

“Oh, please! Some of those articles make me want to vomit!” Kevin stood up and rubbed her back.

“Honestly, you’d think those two would see it!” I turned around, facing Jennifer, Allie’s guardian angel.

“Yeah, you would, wouldn’t you? It’s a shame. Only so often do people even FIND their soulmate, let alone get involved!”

“Well, maybe we should do something about it,” Jennifer answered.

“Huh?” She couldn’t be suggesting we interfere. If He found out…

“Maybe we should set them up!”

“Jennifer! We couldn’t! What if He found out?!”

“He’ll never find out!”

“Jen, He sees all!”

“But wouldn’t it be worth it? Just think, most angels can’t say they’ve ever even SEEN two souls unite!”

“No,” I answered sternly, returning to watching Kevin, a signal that this conversation was over. Hopefully she’d listen, because I have seniority, but with a young, reckless angel like Jennifer, you never know what kind of trouble she’d get into… Still, it was something to think about…
