These photos are from a June 1, 2002 hike hear Mt. Daniel in the Central Cascades of Washington.  The previous winter saw a heavy snowpack, much of which had yet to melt.

Us ready to hike early in the morning.  That's me in the stocking cap.  Photo by Kyle Strom, sort of.
Cathedral rock from the valley floor where we camped.  We hiked about 6 miles of road getting to the trailhead, most of which was covered in deep, slushy snow.
Some little lake, still mostly frozen over.  Photo by Kyle Strom.
The first couple miles of "trail" were like this.  Photo by Kyle Strom.
Views began just a bit above the lake.  Cathedral Rock again.
Mt. Stuart from the slopes below Cathedral Rock.  Photo by Kyle Strom.  Yeah he took all the good pictures.
Traversing below Cathedral Rock.  Photo by Kyle Strom.
Time for lunch, on the other side of Cathedral Rock, just below Mt. Daniel.  Photo by Kyle Strom.
Mt. Daniel, and us eating lunch.  Photo by Kyle Strom.
Some freak who followed us up the trail munching on a beefstick.
A last view of Cathedral Rock on the trip back.
