Chapter 23

“So what’d ya think of here so far?” Nick asked resting his chin on my head.
“Very different!” I answered. Then I looked over the side to see what Jessie(on Brian’s bunk) was doing. Brian was kissing her and she had her eyes wide open. I wanted some fun and my teasing side was kicking in.so I whispered rather loudly, “Jessie, close your eyes!” She embarrasses really easily so when all the guys started laughing, she was mortified. She jumped off the bed starting to cry and ran to the small room we were sleeping in. She shut the door behind her.
“Jessie! I was just kidding! C’mon! Please open the door!” I pleaded
“No! Go away! I hate you!” she yelled back.
“Y’know you don’t mean that,” I said.
“Yes I do! You don’t care about any feelings but yours and Nick’s! You are SO full of yourself!” she retorted. With that I gave up and stomped away from the the door. All of the guys looked at me.
“Why did I ever invite her to come?” She’ll spoil all the fun!” I grumbled.
I climbed up onto Nick’s bunk and put my head in his lap while he played with my hair. Suddenly Brian ran out of the small room with a bloody nose. We all got around him and gave him tissue.
“What the hell happened?” AJ asked.
“We were talking and I had calmed her down and I said, ‘you were a bit unreasonable’, and BOOM! I have a bloody nose!” he used more tissue.
“If she did THAT to you, how am I going to sleep there?!” I cried.
“I’ll go get my mom,” AJ got his mom and came back with her. I told her what had happened.
“I’ll switch you beds. Mine’s the top bunk,” she said. Then she went to talk to Jessie.
“Has the bleeding stopped yet?” I asked.
“Yeah, but wow! That was a shock!” he replied.
“She’s never gotten that mad before!” I said. “Or maybe I just never saw it because we separated when we were really mad at each other.
“With good reason!” Brian said. Just then Denise walked out of our room.
“Jessie’s ok with you and I switching beds and I wouldn’t go in there now. Megan, you embarrassed her and she is very upset,” she said. “Oh, and Brian, she’s sorry.”
“Geez, I only meant it as a friendly joke,” I said softly.
“It’s ok,” Nick put his arm around my shoulders.
“Thanks, Nick. I wanna take a nap right now, can I use your bed?” I asked.
“Sure, I think I’ll have one too. We can nap together!” he said and gave me a goofy grin.
We fell asleep in each other’s arms on his bunk.
Howie looked over at me. She’s so sweet and pretty when she sleeps. No! Shut up, Howie! She’s too young and she’s Nick’s!” he thought to himself.
