White Noise Band. Anamosa, Iowa.

white noise
n. in music, the effect of the complete range of audible sound-wave frequencies heard simultaneously, analogous to white light, which contains all the frequencies of the light spectrum. The sound of cymbals and snare drums has white-noise characteristics. Electronically synthesized white noise can be filtered so as to produce combinations of frequencies not obtainable.

Recent news:

June 30, 2003: The band really isn't together anymore and I'm probably not gonna really update the site, but if you want any information posted or sent to you, I'd be happy to help you out.

April 19, 2003: The name "white noise", as many of you know, is out the door. "Extant" was our name for a while, but we're dropping all names until we can get this CD recorded. So for now we are untitled. Once we have an official name, we will get our own domain which will be kick ass.

April 19, 2003: The post below stating that we would be getting recordings of the Olin gig may be postponed or cancelled. There was some dispute about the people providing the sound and the sound guy or something, so we might get screwed out of those recordings. But don't worry. We just recently purchased a nice digital recording interface and are finishing up some material of our own. Tentatively, we are looking at having a 4-5 song EP sometime this summer. Purchasing information will be posted.

We are scheduled to play the 26th at My Place in Anamosa. Unfortunately, Aaron will be in Vegas for a wedding. Nathan Pilcher will be filling in for him, so the gig is still on. Everybody be there!!

Our gig in Olin rocked. The crowd was absolutely amazing. It was recorded and we should be getting copies on CD. If you want a CD, contact us and once we get them we can probably distribute them for little or no cost.

To schedule us to play at your party or any event, contact us. If it is in Iowa and near Jones County we can schedule a performance. We are taking close to all opportunities to perform.
