The Calling are a powerful indie rock group, whos music about love, loss, redemption and rejection serves anyones taste.

Life for The LA songwritters began, when Alex Band was just 15 years old. Aaron Kamin had been dating Alex's older sister, when Aaron became curious of Alex's music skills. "i asked his sister if he was any good, and she said yes. When she told me he was 15 , i said 'Oh please'. But once i heard him sing, i realised i'd never heard anyone like him. The age difference became a non-issue."

Soon after, the two were inseparatable, playing and expressing their music as oftern as possible. "My sister finally said to Aaron, 'Do you want to play music with my brother or do you want to date me?' Well we're still playing together."

Together the two music lovers developed a demo and posted it to a record agent.Their adolesent energy and persistance paid off. Alex and Aaron wre finally offered a development deal. Soon the two wre performing across the social scene. "Our first band was called Generation Gap. We found members out of the recycler." Alex explains "Our first drummer was 58, and the bass player was 40, which we thought was cool."

After a time, the other members left and Alex and Aaron got down to some serious work. "We locked ourselfs away and wrote about 100 songs" Justifies Alex. Aaron adds "We knew the only way to gain respect was to write out way into everyone's hearts and minds."

Once the album 'Camino Palmero' was produced, the band recieved an early break starring in the hit film 'Coyote Ugly'. Along side band mates Sean Woolstenhulme, Billy Mohler and Nate Wood they played 'Wherever You Will Go'.

Since that performance, the band have moved on miles. 'Wherever You Will Go' was a hit all over the world and their first tour was a sell out. During the tour, band members Sean, Nate and Billy went their separtate ways. For a short while Dino Meneghin replaced the spaces, playing second guitar.

With set backs of lost members and unreleased songs, not holding them back. The Calling, with the original line-up of Alex and Aaron, are set to storm back with a release of a new album and another tour at the end of 2003.
