it all started in 1993 when Erk and Cory met
they then met Joanna in 1995
but it wasn't until '98 when they decided to form a band
they just wanted something to do during 'spares'
the first practices are remebered by Erk drumming on a couch, Joanna singing with no amp, and Cory trying to learn how to play guitar

being all from South Carleton High School
they certainly had the hick thing down
so this Ottawa band decided to be different and not play any shows until they were in college/university
and actually ok sounding
they play all kinds of music, but mostly heavy alternative
the band use to be called "nil" but changed the name when they found out it was already taken

Striventot got its name when Cory was looking through a dictionary
and landed on "tot" and "strive"
he put them together and that was it
they like to think of it as striving for success as a toddler to accomplish everything in life

with one shitty album released now
they plan to do some shows
and record their new single sometime this fall

the future looks hopeless for these guys
they spend more time eating out then practicing
but their debut album made it to the charts (#796)
and is being reviewed by record companies around Canada
