I
regularly write for a newsletter (aren't I good) called 'Rock on Review'
and I thought that I might as well put the articles that I have written
on my website. These articles are pretty obssessive sounds I know.
Sorry about the font size - lol I'll fix it soon. But it's better
than my other goddam ugly site you have to admit.

Janet Jackson and Human Nature (Brisbane Entertainment Centre 7/12/98)
When I first arrived at the entertainment centre I was only there
to see my four favourite guys from Sydney, Human Nature, perform tracks
from their new album as well as twisted versions of some old songs.
We all started to go into the entertainment centre at 7.00 pm and
the concert didnt start until 7.30 pm, but of course we all
didnt mind waiting half an hour for Human Nature to come on.
The time seemed to drag as we all sat on the floor waiting, with my
mum making comments like "Does my hair look alright? I have to
look my best for Toby!"
The moment finally came and Human Nature came on the stage singing
Telling Everybody. They were wearing silver and blue outfits
and when Andrew and Toby took their jackets off they even had sparkles
on their singlet tops. Andrew said that seeing it was the first show
of the tour it was the first place that they had ever performed their
singles Dont Cry and Send it in a Letter.
I took quite a few photos of Michael and Andrew and also photos of
the whole band together. The guys even sung Everytime you Cry
in Calypso style and it was great.
About 45 minutes after HN left the stage Janet came on and her show
was spectacular. It contained fireworks and a big screen so no matter
where you were you could see her clearly. She performed both old and
new tracks and the dancers were fabulous. The show was actually exactly
the same as the special which was shown on 5/12/98 at 9.30 pm on channel
10.
It was a great night all round. Of course I enjoyed HN and I even
enjoyed Janet more than I first thought I would.
JOHN FARNHAM - I CANT BELIEVE HES 50 TOUR
Well, what can I say this show would certainly have to rate high above
the previous concerts that I have gone to. (Except for the Human Nature
concert of course!!!)
The show opened with Johns son Roberts band Nana Zharmi
which I think came as a bit of a shock to the older generation as
they played heavy metal and were extremely loud. They played a couple
of their songs and then they left the stage. Then Ross Wilson came
on and sung one of his own songs and one of Johns songs. Then
he was followed by Merril Bainbridge, James Reyne, Kate Ceberano and
then finally Human Nature. Each of these artists performed one of
their own songs as well as one of Johns songs.
After the interval John came on stage and performed heaps of his songs
both old and new then each of the above artists came on one by one
singing a duet with John, one of the highlights being him singing
a song accapella with Human Nature and them also performing the smash
hit Everytime You Cry. The night ended with all the artists
on stage singing Your the Voice which was an absolutely
fabulous end to the evening. The concert is to be screened on television
on Monday the 5th July.
